Eternally Regressing in Another World

He was a martial artist who looked middle-aged, thick brows, tiger eyes, tall and striking. His name was Feng Haopeng, current helm of Gusu’s Feng Family, an early Nascent Soul expert.

"Nephew Wang Yue greets Uncle Feng." Wang Yue was not a man without manners, and he did not grow arrogant just because his cultivation was higher than the other’s.

Feng Haopeng smiled and steadied him.

"A few years apart and Little Yue, you’ve grown this big, and this handsome. Pity you’re already engaged to the Chen Family, or Uncle Feng would really want you as a son-in-law."

"Uncle Feng is joking. How are Grandfather Feng and everyone?" Wang Yue asked.

"Good, all good. Come, sit and talk." Feng Haopeng had him sit in the living room, then suddenly sighed.

"Little Yue, don’t take the matter from three years ago too hard." Feng Haopeng chose his words and comforted him. "The saying goes that lucky people have Heaven’s protection. Maybe it is even a good thing. Martial artists have been trapped in secret realms before. Some were trapped a long time. When they came out, every one of them had soared in cultivation. Maybe your father and the others are the same."

"Thank you, Uncle Feng. That’s what we all think too." Wang Yue said gratefully, but he was not optimistic inside.

Martial artists had indeed been trapped in secret realms and come out with soaring cultivation, but that was usually ten-odd days, a few dozen days, the longest not even a year. The men of the three great families had already been missing for three years.

Wang Yue also had memories of a previous life. He knew that after another three years they still would not appear.

A secret realm trapping people for six years, or even more. Was that possible?

Seeing Wang Yue’s expression darken, Feng Haopeng immediately dropped the subject and smiled.

"Little Yue, for this summit, what good things has your Wang Family prepared to trade? Can you leak a little to Uncle Feng in advance?"

This so-called martial artists’ summit was really a gathering led by their five families, with all the large and small martial forces and loose cultivators of both cities joining to trade and cooperate.

At the gathering, besides looking for partners, many people would take out good things they and the forces behind them did not need, and exchange them or simply sell them for credit points.

As the organizers, the five great families usually set the example and brought out quite a lot each time.

Those things might not mean much to the five great families, but to martial artists of lower layers they were very precious, the kind money could not buy.

Wang Yue knew Feng Haopeng was only joking to change the subject, so he smiled too.

"That I don’t know. Grandmother prepared everything. It will only be sent over this afternoon."

"How has your grandmother been? After the summit I must go pay my respects to the old lady." From the heart, Feng Haopeng admired these women of Golden Mountain’s three great families. The men had vanished as a group, and a group of women had still held up three huge families, even their prestige barely weakened.

The ones he admired most were the three helms: Ling Xueyan of the Chen Family, Su Mengyun of the Su Family, and Liu Ruoshi of the Wang Family.

The first two were of his generation and not even as old as he was, so "pay respects" did not fit. Only Liu Ruoshi was worth him visiting in person.

As for the other two pillars of Golden Mountain’s three great families, Shen Siying of the Chen Family and Chen Lingwei of the Su Family, their cultivation was strong, but their ability was not outstanding. They were number two figures in their families.

As helm of Gusu’s Feng Family, Feng Haopeng could and should visit them privately as a junior, but a public formal visit would be a bit improper.

While the two were talking, someone suddenly burst in, shouting the moment he entered, "Brother Peng, is that Wang Yue brat here yet?"

The newcomer was not that tall, only a bit taller than Wang Yue, but his build was extremely thick, as if he had grown sideways. A chubby round face, tiny eyes and nose, rather comical.

His name was Bao Guo. Anyone who did not know him would think from the name that he ran some kind of training class. His identity was the blood younger brother of Gusu Bao Family’s current helm. After all, it was only one summit. The two Gusu families had come from far away. Having one helm attend in person was already high spec. When Golden Mountain’s three great families went to Gusu for this kind of event, they usually only let one family’s helm represent them and had the other two send whoever.

While speaking, Bao Guo spotted Wang Yue just standing up from Feng Haopeng’s side, strode over, and slapped Wang Yue’s shoulder hard.

"Little Wang Yue, right? A few years and you’ve grown. Only this build is a bit too thin. You need to train properly and get thicker, understand?"

"Uncle Bao." Wang Yue greeted him with a bitter smile. A few years apart and this Uncle Bao was still the same, familiar with everyone, and showing off that ox-like build to whoever he met.

The Bao Family was a pure inner-force martial family and had no external training methods. Who knew what he was after, forcing himself to look this inhuman.

Sending him as representative this time was definitely a mistake. Standing next to Feng Haopeng he looked like a bodyguard, not a family representative.

After roasting him a few times inside, Wang Yue sat down with the two of them and started chatting.

They were two generations. They had no common topics. If they talked martial experience, Wang Yue was still learning, so the exchange was basically Feng Haopeng and Bao Guo talking and Wang Yue listening.

What they taught him was not martial knowledge, though. It was jianghu experience. That stuff was very useful. When you walked outside, it was sometimes far more useful than martial experience.

Listening to the two uncles teach without holding back, Wang Yue quietly sighed. The elders all said the relationship between Gusu’s Bao and Feng families and Golden Mountain’s three great families was not much worse than the relationship inside the three families themselves. That was truly not empty talk.

Luckily neither of those two families had male juniors of a suitable age. Otherwise the older sisters might well have been married off to them.

Thinking that, Wang Yue froze. If the older sisters could find suitable partners, was that not a good thing? Why had he used the word "luckily"?

The three of them talked until noon and ate lunch together.
