Chapter 350: Chapter 350: She Has You in Her Heart, She Just Hasn’t Dared to Admit It Yet

Si Jin stepped slowly out of the shadows. His face was devoid of extra emotion as he looked coldly at Bai Ye.

Their eyes met, and the air silently stilled between them.

An unspoken undercurrent hid in the depths of both men’s gazes. There was no hostile animosity, only a clear and restrained mutual understanding.

They both deeply loved Yun Sheng. They would get jealous, they would compete, and they would secretly compare themselves to one another, yet they had long since tacitly accepted each other’s existence.

After a few seconds of silent staring, Bai Ye was the first to speak. His tone was candid and open.

"Shengsheng and I are together now."

Si Jin’s gaze shifted slightly. A faint ripple flashed across his eyes before he gave a slight nod.

"I saw."

Others might have been surprised, but he never was. Long before Yun Sheng had even fully sorted out her own feelings for Bai Ye, Si Jin had anticipated this day.

He understood Yun Sheng too well, and he saw right through the obsession hidden in Bai Ye’s eyes. It was only a matter of time before they came together.

Si Jin had already envisioned every possible outcome and quietly convinced himself to accept them. He could be jealous and he could feel unwilling, but he would never obstruct Yun Sheng’s heart, let alone put her in a dilemma.

But anticipating it was one thing; witnessing it with his own eyes was entirely different!

Just now, seeing them confess, embrace, and kiss with his own eyes, watching Yun Sheng completely surrender her heart and seeing Bai Ye finally get what he wanted—no matter how calm and composed he was on the inside, he couldn’t help the ripples of emotion welling up within him. Beneath it all lay an indescribable sense of stagnation and displeasure.

Bai Ye caught the fleeting sourness in Si Jin’s eyes. Without flaunting or acting smug, he simply said, "You saw this coming, didn’t you?"

Si Jin lowered his gaze, his voice cold and deep. "Yes. She always had you in her heart, but she was just too afraid to admit it to herself."

Hearing this, Bai Ye looked at him, his expression solemn. "I won’t let her down."

"I know." Si Jin raised his eyes, meeting his gaze once more with a sense of open relief. "You can protect her, and you are worthy of her affection."

After a brief silence, Bai Ye said softly, "Let’s go back. Don’t keep her waiting."

Si Jin nodded. He suppressed all the fragmented emotions in his eyes, shedding that faint, imperceptible displeasure until he returned to a picture of perfect calm.

The two men turned shoulder to shoulder and walked back down the corridor, one after the other. There was no hostility or surging undercurrents left—only an unspoken understanding, all stemming from their shared devotion to Yun Sheng.

Yun Sheng strolled back to the booth by the window. Glancing up, she realized Professor Mo was the only one left at the table.

He sat upright, his fingers lightly gripping a coffee cup as he took slow sips, looking completely serene and at ease.

A flash of surprise crossed her eyes as she took her seat. "Professor Mo, why are you alone?" she asked softly. "Si—"

The words had barely reached her lips when she abruptly realized her mistake. She hastily corrected herself, covering up her slip somewhat awkwardly.

"Where did Lin Mo go?"

She had nearly blurted out Si Jin’s real name in her haste, making her heart clench slightly. Fortunately, Mo Chen’s expression remained unchanged. He didn’t seem to notice her slip of the tongue at all.

"After you went to the restroom, Bai Ye and he got up one after another. They both said they were going to get some fresh air. I assume they’ll be back soon."

At this, Yun Sheng subconsciously curled her fingers, a sudden wave of turmoil rising in her heart.

Bai Ye and Si Jin had both left to get fresh air. Bai Ye had come to find her—but what about Si Jin?

A clear thought surfaced in her mind. Si Jin had most likely witnessed the entire process of her and Bai Ye confessing, embracing, and kissing on the balcony.

Si Jin knew she liked Bai Ye, and he had said he didn’t mind her being with him. But saying it was one thing; seeing it with his own eyes was quite another. The mere thought that Si Jin had seen everything filled Yun Sheng with an indescribable sense of guilt and awkwardness.

She lowered her eyes, her thoughts in disarray, zoning out for a moment.

"Miss Yun."

Mo Chen’s gentle voice suddenly rang out, instantly pulling Yun Sheng back from her wandering thoughts.

She quickly looked up at him, a trace of confusion in her tone. "Professor Mo, what did you want to say?"

Mo Chen pushed up the glasses on the bridge of his nose. His peaceful gaze landed on her as he spoke in an unhurried manner.

"When you previously came to my lab for a spiritual power examination, I suggested you do an exclusive spiritual power compatibility test with your bonded Sentinel. You mentioned needing some time to consider it...

"Mr. Lin is your Sentinel, correct? I wanted to ask how your considerations are going. When would it be convenient for you both to come in for the test? If you have any concerns, you can speak to me directly."

Yun Sheng furrowed her brows slightly at his words.

Si Jin was a Dark Sentinel wanted across the entire Star Alliance network, currently concealing his identity under the alias "Lin Mo."

Meanwhile, as a top spiritual power research expert, Mo Chen held the complete spiritual database of all the Star Alliance’s past High-level Sentinels—which naturally included the exclusive spiritual power spectrum and data of the Former War God, Si Jin. If they went to the lab for an official spiritual compatibility test, there would be no way to conceal Si Jin’s highly identifiable spiritual power. Mo Chen would undoubtedly expose his identity on the spot.

At that point, all their disguises would be torn away, and Si Jin’s hidden identity would be completely laid bare, leading to endless trouble.

In just a few short seconds, Yun Sheng rapidly weighed the pros and cons in her mind and came to a decision.

She quickly concealed all the turmoil in her eyes and said softly, "I’m sorry, Professor Mo, but we probably won’t be able to arrange that for the time being. I just joined the Tower, and our team has a lot of complex matters to handle, so I haven’t been able to find the time. Lin Mo is also busy with his work at the hospital, making it very difficult to coordinate. It’s really not very convenient."

She deliberately paused, leaving some leeway. She didn’t flatly refuse; she was merely stalling. "Let’s wait until we have some free time later on to properly consider the test."

The booth fell silent for a moment.

Mo Chen looked at her quietly. His gaze was gentle, yet it was as if he had already seen right through her concerns. He wasn’t fooled by her excuses in the slightest.

"Miss Yun, you don’t trust me, do you?"

Having her true thoughts pointed out so bluntly caused the composure on Yun Sheng’s face to instantly freeze. She subconsciously pursed her lips, momentarily at a loss for how to argue back.

Mo Chen didn’t press her. Instead, he softened his tone and continued, "You don’t need to be nervous. From beginning to end, the only thing I care about is the research on your spiritual power.

"I only want to clearly study why your spiritual power is so special. As for anything else, I don’t care at all. I won’t deliberately investigate, nor will I interfere. You can rest completely assured of that."

Meeting his clear gaze, Yun Sheng felt even more embarrassed and quietly defended herself. "It’s not... that I don’t trust you..."

It was just that there were some risks she couldn’t afford to take—and she absolutely refused to gamble with them.

Seeing the internal struggle and difficulty in her eyes, Mo Chen’s tone carried a hint of earnest persistence.

"Miss Yun, I am genuinely very interested in your spiritual power. This research is of great significance to my project and could fill many gaps in the academic world. I won’t force you to give an immediate answer, but I only hope you’ll reconsider it carefully."
