Chapter 768: Fallen Angel Pool & Madness

The young man noticed their gazes and understood their meaning.

He looked thoughtful for a few seconds before finally raising his hand, interrupting their argument.

"Alright. That's enough."

"Ryu is right. That woman has already killed both the Fallen Ancestor and the Holy Land Demon Lord. If we don't do anything but shrink back, the prestige the Fallen Angel race has accumulated over billions of years will be destroyed."

Just like every world, the Demon World had a finite amount of resources.

For one to become "richer," others had to become "poorer."

And they, the Fallen Angel race, were one of the "richest" lineages in the Demon World. Many people were greedy for their possessions.

If they showed any signs of weakness, all these people would jump out to take a bite out of them.

Hearing the True Angel Demon Lord's words, Ryu and his side of the Fallen Angels were delighted, thinking that the leader had agreed with their opinion.

Yet just before they could smile, the True Angel Demon Lord spoke again.

"However, Aira is correct too. We don't know much about our opponent. Before taking action, we should first gather more information."

"Otherwise, the asymmetry of information may put us in danger."

"My Lord," Ryu suddenly spoke.

"Besides those two people, is there anyone who can defeat you in the Demon World? Is there really any need to be so cautious?"

Not only he, but Aira had the same opinion.

She didn't want to clash with Liora recklessly, not because she feared her, but because she wished to minimize her losses.

As for the Fallen Angel race losing? She had never considered it.

In response to their questioning glances, the True Angel Demon Lord shook his head.

"Although I'm powerful, I'm far from being invincible. There are an unknown number of powerhouses in the Demon World."

"Moreover, that woman specifically targeted our Fallen Angel race, seemingly for no reason. To dare to do so, she must have some confidence that she can hold me back."

"Either she has obtained the support of one of those lunatics hiding in the dark, or she is the knife of the other lineages, sent specifically to test us."

"I personally have nothing to fear, but it's impossible for me to leave this place. If I leave and someone takes the opportunity to attack, the foundation of our race will be in danger."

As for Liora being able to defeat him on her own?

The True Angel Demon Lord did not mention that possibility.

Everyone could tell that Liora was an Antiquity Devil. Even if she had practiced some other power system, she could at most contend with Primordial Devils.

As for going any higher?

That was impossible.

There were only a few power systems that could contend with the Devil power system.

And those few had clear characteristics, none of which were found in Liora. Thus, everyone judged that the limit of her combat prowess would be the peak of the Primordial stage.

Hearing the True Angel Demon Lord's guess, the expressions of all the Fallen Angels shifted.

If things were as he said, then the situation was far more complicated than it seemed on the surface.

There was a huge difference between a single powerful individual and an entire force targeting them.

The former could be suppressed with some effort. The latter, however, depended on their respective preparations.

"Alright. You don't have to be so nervous." The True Angel Demon Lord noticed their thoughts and comforted them.

"Even if things are as I said, there is nothing to worry about."

"Our Fallen Angel lineage has stood in the Demon World for so many years. Is it because of you, or because of me? It's neither!"

"It's all because of the methods left behind by our ancestors. As long as they are there, the Fallen Angel lineage will exist!"

"Even if all the lineages besiege us, we'll have nothing to fear!"

His solemn voice echoed throughout the hall.

His words filled the Fallen Angel with confidence.

That confidence surged even further once the True Angel Demon Lord began assigning tasks to each of them.

Soon, every Devil had been sent out.

Only the True Angel Demon Lord remained in the room.

But not for long.

A split second later, his figure blurred and disappeared.

When he reappeared, he was standing in front of a large sea.

Half of the sea was golden, exuding a holy aura, while the other half was pitch-black and evil.

Within the sea lay hundreds of souls, constantly washed by waves of the two different powers.

With each crashing wave, the souls were influenced.

They slowly became more and more human-like, while pairs of wings extended from their backs.

Fallen Angel Pool!

The secret weapon of the Fallen Angel lineage and the reason they had remained at the apex of the Demon World even after the disappearance of their most powerful ancestors.

According to the legends, the Fallen Angel Pool could transform ordinary souls into Fallen Angels that were no different from those born in the River of Oblivion.

In fact, the True Angel Demon Lord knew that this was wrong.

The Fallen Angels born in the Fallen Angel Pool were even more powerful.

Although they didn't have the potential to become Princes and Princesses of the Demon World, they were born at the Archdevil stage.

At the same time, there was a fifty percent chance that they would become Ancient Devils.

In this era, where no Princes or Princesses could be found, the Fallen Angel Pool was an extraordinary trump card.

Looking at the "swimming" souls and his own figure reflected in the two-colored waters, the True Angel Demon Lord appeared thoughtful.

He didn't seem happy to see the Fallen Angel Pool. If anything, he was concerned.

"Is the Fallen Angel Pool part of those people's plan? Was this deliberately left behind by the ancestor?"

"Prince of the Demon World. Everyone who has not reached that level is but an ant..." he whispered, his mind connected to his timeline, which could no longer move any further back.

A trace of madness flashed in the depths of his eyes, shedding the originally calm demeanor he had previously displayed.
