Meanwhile...

At the Emperor’s study, the men surrounding Kaelen quickly recovered from their initial shock and surrounded him in an instant, with their blades lined around his neck from all directions.

"Sir, we need you to leave. We’ll take care of him... he won’t be walking out of this room alive." One of the men said grimly.

"Very well." The Emperor said calmly and walked out of the study, closing the door behind him.

Kaelen didn’t make any reckless move again. His neck was surrounded by the tips of the blades of these men, who he could tell were well over Tier 20.

This made him pause to think again.

The Emperor was a Tier 21.

The Stronghold 3 Governor was a Tier 23.

These men’s evolution realms ranged from these Tiers up to Tier 26.

It was simply impossible that these men were stronger than the Emperor and Governor of Stronghold 3, who were the first beta testers.

There could only be one explanation for this:

Just like Kaelen was fond of stockpiling his accumulated evolution points instead of spending them all immediately, that was probably what the Emperor and Governor were doing.

They should’ve accumulated enough evolution points to at least cross the Tier 30 threshold or higher, but they only resorted to ascending realms when the enemy was beyond their power.

Again, just like Kaelen.

The Emperor would’ve used that in the Supreme Elder Dragon’s battle, before Kaelen got involved and wiped the team out in collateral damage.

The reason he was able to kill the Stronghold 3 Governor so easily was only because he was currently stronger and used a fatal surprise attack, which shouldn’t be enough to take out a Tier 23 in one strike... except the damage was multiplied a hundredfold by his Primordial Chaos Bloodline.

Kaelen wasn’t in a hurry to catch up with the Emperor, because he knew the man had so much pride that he wouldn’t run away from a fight he believed he’d win at peak strength.

Kaelen was also expecting to run into the Governor he just killed once again on his way out of the room to find the Emperor.

That would be the worst mistake he’d be making, because this time, Kaelen wouldn’t be letting either of the men off the hook.

He didn’t know how, but he was going to kill the two men as many times as it took to send them back to Tier 1.

Kaelen ran his eyes across the men surrounding him, his cold gaze making them shiver ever so slightly. He could see the fear behind their fake bravado.

That was because they believed they could kill him. They were only here to wear him off and buy time, risking their evolution realms as much as possible for the Emperor and Governor to return from wherever they might’ve chosen as their save point.

Thinking about that now, though Kaelen wasn’t planning on dying to any enemy—not now, not ever—he still made a mental note to choose a save point for his respawn.

It should be somewhere no one knew and could ever find. And he already had an idea for that.

"I’m going to be giving y’all one last chance," Kaelen spoke calmly. "Turn around and walk away now, and I won’t come after you."

The men exchanged glances amongst themselves, but no one backed down.

"Trying to talk your way out of this?" One of them sneered at him.

"So you have chosen to sacrifice your lives for nothing... I see." Kaelen said with a mischievous tone.

The men immediately frowned, as they immediately knew the battle had officially begun.

"Attack!"

They drove their swords in unison towards Kaelen’s neck. A pool of shadow spread from beneath his feet, and Kaelen was pulled down into the pool of shadow, just as the sword tips clashed against each other without hitting their target. Not even touching a strand of his long hair.

Before they could comprehend the shadow pool, it began expanding across the room and eating away at the floorboards.

They stumbled back in fear of what the shadow pool might be, but it spread even further and faster, swallowing all the furniture inside the study and pushing the men to press their backs against the walls.

Unfortunately for them, the shadow pool didn’t spare them and consumed the entire floor of the room up to the edge of the walls where they stood, and they unwillingly fell into the pool and were sucked into it.

In a beautiful field with a pond sitting next to it, several Slimes could be seen lazily grazing the field, when the atmosphere was suddenly interrupted as a rift tore open from above, and several pieces of furniture and cabinets dropped out of the rift, before several men fell after the furniture as well, and the rift closed up, leaving no traces.

The Slimes quickly hopped away from the paranormal activity happening at the center of the field, before they went back to lazily grazing the field like they’d forgotten what had just happened.

The men immediately jumped to their feet with their weapons in hand, scanning the field in alert.

There was nothing out of place in the beautiful field... except the Slimes.

They were well aware this was the Slime’s natural habitat, but they also knew their enemy was a Slime as well, and could very much be amongst the many Slimes surrounding them, making the entire colony of the weakest creature terrifying to these hardened warriors.

"Keep your eyes open. He could be anywhere, preparing for his next attack. That’s probably why he teleported us here." One of them addressed the others like a natural leader.

"Teleportation was not among the recorded abilities. This fucker is above my pay grade."

"Yeah. Why don’t we just start killing all the Slimes till he makes a move?" Another argued.

As they bantered amongst themselves, one of them heard the rustling of leaves behind him and spun around, only to see a Slime hopping away in fright. He slowly exhaled in relief, but something about the woods they were turning their backs to gave him the chills, so he broke away from the group and slowly ventured into the woods cautiously.

He didn’t need to turn back and used the voices of his teammates ranting to know how far away he was from the group. But he hadn’t gone far when he suddenly slammed into a wall and was thrown onto his butt.

He rubbed his forehead painfully as he quickly jumped back to his feet, scanning the surrounding area first, before he returned his focus back to the wall.

There was nothing there, and he could easily see further into the woods. But when he reached out his hands, they came in contact with an invisible barrier. And when he followed it sideways, he realized it was longer than he imagined.

"Why the hell is there an invisible barrier in the middle of nowhere?"

"Thanks for your feedback." A voice suddenly came from behind him, and he quickly spun around with his weapon raised.

"I was running against time, and couldn’t possibly create an entire world in under a minute." The Slime standing behind him said thoughtfully, before it focused on the terrified man once more with a faint smile.

"Hey, it’s me again..."

"...Welcome to my world."
