Extraordinary Demon King Soldier
Chapter 1498 - 1495: Time Reversal
Ye Qiu heard the man in black robe mention that the mirror in his hand was indeed called the Jade Mountain Kunlun Mirror, and wanted to speak up.
But when Ye Qiu opened his mouth, he found that he couldn't make any sound. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't utter a single word.
Yet, those people were standing right in front of him. He could see their appearances, their eyebrows and eyes, and even their breathing. Ye Qiu could feel it all. They were clearly in front of him, yet Ye Qiu felt as if he were very far from them.
Ye Qiu was startled by his inability to make a sound, unsure what was happening before him. In his urgency, he immediately stood up, trying to pat the shoulder of the man in black.
But when Ye Qiu's hand landed on the man in black robe, he found that his hand actually passed through the man's body.
Ye Qiu stared in amazement at this phenomenon and suddenly saw that there was actually someone seated on the throne. That person was sitting on the throne, enjoying the worship of the crowd, as if he really were their king.
Witnessing such a scene, Ye Qiu was suddenly filled with doubt. Not to mention anything else, why could he see such a scene? Was it because he had somehow reached the throne?
Moreover, none of the murals had any record of the person sitting on the throne; the only one depicted was the man in black robes. But since that person on the throne was called their king, why was there no record of him?
Also, the person sitting on the throne stared blankly at everything below, as if none of it concerned him. He didn't speak from beginning to end.
Ye Qiu stood beside, like a spectator, watching all the scenes before him, as if standing in a virtual world watching them.
After a while, all those kneeling below walked out of the palace, leaving only the man in black and the person on the throne inside the great hall.
"My king, I've said you're not leaving here," the man in black robes seemed to smile sinisterly as he looked at the king.
The king's previously blank gaze turned angry upon hearing the man in black's words, staring at him as if looking at an enemy.
"What exactly do you want?" the king said, his eyes fixed on the man in black, "What will it take for you to release me?"
"Release you?" the man in black robes chuckled, "You are the king here, I naturally respect and worship you. I never said you're being imprisoned, so how can we talk about releasing you?"
Upon hearing the man in black's words, the king became even angrier, staring at the man in black and said, "I don't want to be any king here. It was you who tricked me into being here, you who imprisoned me to be your puppet!"
Ye Qiu looked at the person on the throne, and from his words, Ye Qiu understood that he was merely a puppet king.
The man in black heard the king's words and laughed twice before saying, "I call you king, so you are king. Isn't being the supremely revered king good? Only I can bestow this honor upon you."
The king looked at the man in black, his gaze slowly turning from anger to despair, even pleading slightly as he looked at the man in black, "What will it take for you to release me?"
"Even in death, you'll die here," the man in black coldly glanced at the king before turning around to leave.
The king watched the man in black leave, closed his eyes in despair, and slumped down on the throne.
Ye Qiu observed the scene before him and suddenly understood that these might be events that happened long ago. Somehow, they were being replayed for him, like a movie.
The king sat idly for a while, as if suddenly remembering something, he abruptly stood up and ran outside.
Ye Qiu followed behind the king, watching what he intended to do, still not noticing the presence of the black cat following him.
Exiting the palace, the king headed towards a corridor outside the palace, and Ye Qiu followed him closely, with the black cat right behind.
After a while, the king seemed to arrive at a bedroom, which appeared simple and seemed to be the king's residence.
Suddenly, the king took a dagger from the stone bed and aimed it at his own throat.
Ye Qiu, seeing this, instinctively wanted to step forward and stop him, but suddenly felt a warm sensation on his face. He raised his hand to his face and realized it was covered in blood.
Ye Qiu hadn't expected this person's blood to splatter onto his face, looking at the person lying on the ground.
And when he looked over, he realized the person was also looking at him.
"Who are you?" the person said weakly, with confusion, panting as he looked at Ye Qiu, "How did you suddenly appear here?"
Ye Qiu stepped forward, immediately activated the cultivation technique within his body, using spiritual power to heal the person's wound, then said, "I don't know how I came here; I appeared here unintentionally. I don't belong to the same era as you."
Upon hearing Ye Qiu's words, that person nodded and continued leaning against the wall.
Ye Qiu looked at him with curiosity, surprised that he accepted his presence so quickly, and asked, "Are you not surprised to see me?"
The person let out a bitter smile and said, "I never believed in such things before, but ever since being imprisoned here by that person, I've realized there are many wondrous things in this world."
"You were imprisoned here?" Ye Qiu asked the person, puzzled, "What exactly is going on?"
The person raised his head to glance at Ye Qiu, as if contemplating whether to speak, paused, then continued, "That person, the one in the black robe, cannot be these people's king. Yet he desires kingly power, so he imprisoned me, placed me on the throne, while he walks ahead controlling me. I'm the apparent king of these people, but the man in the black robe is the true king here."
"Is the mirror he holds the Jade Mountain Kunlun Mirror?" Ye Qiu asked the person.
The person looked at Ye Qiu strangely and said, "Indeed, that mirror is the Jade Mountain Kunlun Mirror. It seems you are not entirely ignorant."
Upon hearing this, Ye Qiu awkwardly smiled and said, "To my shame, the only thing I know is the Jade Mountain Kunlun Mirror; everything else is unknown to me."
