Chapter 310: Talking with Akari

Eventually, the conversation came to an end. Noah wanted to speak with Akari alone. The problem was when would he get the chance?

After the gathering, it was decided that Noah’s family would stay at the Thornveil Estate for the night.

Fortunately, the Eldritch Duchy and its main city, where Noah’s family lived, had not suffered any attacks from the mysterious monsters.

Because of that, Julian wasn’t in any particular hurry to return. He had left the city in the hands of his trusted knights for the time being.

After some time, Noah finally managed to slip away from the others.

He wanted to find Akari.

"Where is she? I want to talk to her."

He walked through the beautiful corridors of the Thornveil Estate, occasionally glancing at the expensive decorations and paintings hanging along the walls.

The manor was enormous, with countless rooms and chambers spread throughout it.

Noah eventually stopped one of the servants and asked about Akari’s whereabouts.

After receiving directions, he continued on his way.

However, before he could reach his destination, he suddenly saw someone walking toward him from the other end of the corridor.

It was Akari.

The moment her eyes landed on him, her usually cold and strict gaze immediately softened and brightened.

She quickened her pace.

"Noah... I was looking for you."

Noah nodded with a gentle smile.

"Well, I was looking for you too. I wanted to talk to you about something important."

Akari nodded.

"Then follow me."

She turned around and led him toward another chamber.

The manor was so large that there were plenty of unused rooms, and this particular chamber was completely empty.

Once they entered, Akari walked toward the bed and sat down.

Then she patted the empty space beside her.

Noah followed her and sat down.

"Did you want to talk to me about something?" Akari asked. "What is it?"

Noah nodded.

"I wanted to ask you about something. What did you tell the others? Duke Lionel and your father?"

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"About what happened to you... who took you there... and what we faced?"

Akari let out a quiet sigh.

"I didn’t tell them the full truth."

Noah listened carefully.

"After I returned, I first spoke with Lionel. I told him that I had been mysteriously pulled into that realm by an unknown existence twelve years ago during fight with demon. I told him that it was because I possessed a dragon bloodline and that the existence wanted me to awaken it completely."

Noah was slightly surprised that she revealed about her dragon bloodline.

She paused briefly.

"Once I was there, I trained for years and eventually reached the peak of my strength. Then, one day, you appeared there."

Her expression became slightly more serious.

"After that, an unknown being suddenly appeared and tried to kill us. We fought it, defeated it, and eventually found a way to return to this world."

Noah thought about it for a moment.

"And he believed you?"

"Well... I don’t know."

Akari shrugged slightly.

"But he didn’t question me any further. Besides, I didn’t exactly lie to him."

Noah narrowed his eyes slightly.

"But you did hide few things, didn’t you?"

"Yes."

Akari didn’t deny it.

"I know that I shouldn’t reveal everything about my dragon bloodline. Especially the fact that I’m now a full dragon rather than a human. But I think it was necessary to reveal."

Noah’s expression became serious.

"Are you sure about that? You told him about your bloodline"

Akari nodded.

"Since dragons no longer exist, most people believe they were nothing more than creatures from ancient stories and legends."

She looked down at her hands for a moment.

"If word gets out that I have become a dragon, I can’t even imagine the chaos it would cause throughout the world."

Noah remained silent.

He knew she was right.

The existence of a living dragon would undoubtedly attract countless powerful individuals, organizations, and nations.

However, Akari soon continued.

"Lionel and my father already know that I’m a full dragon now."

Noah’s eyes became serious.

"Isn’t that dangerous?"

"Yes, it is."

Akari answered honestly.

"But I thought it was better to tell them."

She looked at Noah.

"Even though I don’t love Lionel, I know he’s not a bad person, nor is he someone who is obsessed with power. I can trust him with this matter. And what happened there was something I shouldn’t hide. Also what made them more worried was the being we fought."

She paused before continuing.

"Also as you know, my father’s duchy is considerably stronger than Lionel’s."

Her voice carried a hint of confidence.

"We have greater strength, and now, without a doubt, I’m stronger than both Lionel and my father."

Noah raised an eyebrow.

"Really?"

"Yes."

Akari nodded.

"It seems that my strength increased after I returned to this world."

She glanced at her hand.

"And it’s still growing."

She slowly exhaled.

"Whatever happened inside that realm seems to have changed me in more ways than I expected."

Noah remained thoughtful for a moment before asking,

"But you’re a dragon now, and Lionel knows that. Why didn’t he try to stop you from leaving?"

His expression became slightly concerned.

"I mean, what person wouldn’t want a dragon in their family... or even under their control?"

Akari gave him a knowing look.

"Well he don’t want to go against whole eastern duchy, nor me. So don’t worry. I’m strong enough to protect myself. Besides, I don’t think I can hide my identity from the world forever."

She glanced toward the window, her expression becoming slightly more serious.

"Things are becoming dangerous. We have much bigger problems to worry about."

"What kind of problems?"

"I don’t know."

Akari shook her head.

"This is what my father told me. I still don’t know what’s happening in the world right now."

"True. You were stuck for years."

Noah fell silent for a moment, thinking about everything she had said.

Then Akari suddenly gave him a soft smile.

"Also, don’t worry."

She looked directly into his eyes.

"I didn’t tell them everything you did in that place."

Noah immediately let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Thank you."

"Hehe. I won’t put you in danger."

Akari’s expression then became curious.

"Now, can you tell me where you got those divine powers? And do you know what that being was?"

Noah nodded.

"...I received those powers from the Moon Goddess. Temporarily."

Akari’s eyes widened.

"The Moon Goddess?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

Her surprise was obvious.

"Why would she give you her powers?"

"Listen..."
