Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch

Chapter 385: The Fall Of Blood

  • Next Chapter

A crimson light seeped through the cracks spreading across the enormous, moon-like sphere.

Then, in the next instant.

BOOOOOOMMMM!!!

The entire structure exploded in a torrent of blood.

A tremendous shock wave swept across the sky, shattering the surrounding ice and sending countless fragments scattering in every direction. The silver-blue radiance was swallowed by a violent crimson explosion, filling the air with dust, blood, and shards of ice.

Yet, through the chaos, a figure charged straight toward its center.

Noah. His eyes remained fixed on Tharlyssa as he closed the distance between them. Ice still in his control so those destroyed parts of ice never hit him, and stop where get closer to him.

The moment he reached her, he swung his sword with all his might.

[Second Petal: Still Surface Cut]

A wide, semi-transparent blue slash erupted from his blade.

The attack, formed from highly compressed freezing ice, tore through the crimson blood and shattered ice fragments in its path, cutting straight toward Tharlyssa.

SLASH!

"ARGHHH!!!"

A deep wound opened across her chest.

Blood sprayed into the air as Tharlyssa’s body jerked from the impact. However, despite her injury, she reacted almost immediately, surging toward Noah while he was still within reach.

Before he could withdraw his sword.

Her hand pierced his chest.

The attack tore through his flesh just above his heart, but it didn’t penetrate deeply enough to damage any vital organs.

Noah’s eyes widened slightly. His ice sword slipped from his right hand and began falling away.

"Cough!"

Blood spilled from his mouth.

Tharlyssa, on the other hand, broke into a delighted smile.

"Finally, I’ve got you..."

She leaned closer, her crimson eyes gleaming with excitement.

"Be a good boy, and I’ll let you live."

Then, without the slightest hesitation, she licked the blood from his cheek.

The moment the taste of his blood touched her tongue, her eyes closed in bliss. For that brief instant, she seemed to have forgotten everything else around her.

But when she opened her eyes again, she found Noah smiling at her.

"You really think so?" His voice was cold and composed. "Too bad... you just did exactly what I wanted you to do."

Tharlyssa’s smile faded.

"What?"

Before she could understand his words, something moved beneath Noah’s body. His left hand shot upward, holding a newly formed ice dagger.

CRUSH!

The dagger slammed into her right side, tearing through her ribs before driving deep into her flesh.

"ARGH! You think this is enough to—"

Her words abruptly died in her throat. The hand she had buried inside Noah’s chest was beginning to freeze her skin surface.

A thin layer of ice formed around her fingers, spreading rapidly across her palm and wrist.

Tharlyssa’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"What the fuck are you doing, you madman?!"

But Noah didn’t answer.

The ice dagger embedded in her ribs began to spread its freezing energy throughout her body.

CRACK!

The ice expanded violently.

SPLATTER!

Jagged ice shards erupted from her right side, tearing through flesh and bursting outward between her ribs.

"ARRRRRGHHHH!!!"

Tharlyssa screamed in agony. Her body convulsed as the freezing attack ravaged her from within.

But Noah had been waiting for precisely this moment.

Ignoring the unbearable pain in his chest, he seized her neck with his right hand.

CLICK!

His fingers caught the clasp securing her dark violet cloak.

With a sharp movement, he unhooked it.

The cloak, which had been helping her remain airborne, slipped from her shoulders.

"What—?"

Before Tharlyssa could react, her body began to fall.

Noah immediately shattered the ice surrounding her hand, freeing himself from her grip. He pulled her frozen fingers out of his chest, blood trickling from the wound as he pushed himself away.

"Nooooo!!!"

Tharlyssa’s scream echoed through the sky.

She plunged downward, her body tumbling toward the city below.

However, Noah wasn’t falling with her.

The ice sword he had dropped earlier suddenly shot through the air, catching the falling cloak before it could disappear into the distance.

The sword carried it back toward him.

Noah caught the garment and swiftly draped it over his shoulders.

The moment he secured it, the cloak’s enchantment activated, allowing him to remain suspended in the air.

He glanced down at the garment.

’So it requires mana to maintain flight...’

Then he looked toward Tharlyssa.

She was rapidly descending toward the city, coughing up blood as she struggled to regain control of her body.

The damage to her right side was horrific. Her ribs had been crushed and torn apart by the ice that had erupted from within her own flesh.

Every breath had become a struggle.

And using mana was even more difficult.

She desperately tried to summon a blood weapon large enough to support her weight, hoping to recreate the method Noah used to fly on his ice sword.

A massive blood greatsword began materializing beneath her feet.

But Noah had no intention of letting her escape so easily.

The frost dragon was still soaring through the sky on lower side, waiting for his command.

The moment Noah directed his gaze toward Tharlyssa, the enormous creature moved.

"Shit! No! NO!"

Tharlyssa’s eyes widened in horror as the dragon descended toward her.

Its enormous body twisted in midair, and its powerful tail swung toward the blood weapon she was attempting to create.

BOOOOM!

The dragon’s icy tail smashed into the forming greatsword, shattering it before slamming directly into Tharlyssa.

Her body shot sideways like an arrow, hurtling toward the city.

Yet the dragon wasn’t finished.

Its jaws opened wide.

A colossal pillar of freezing energy erupted from its mouth, taking the shape of a huge pillar as it tore through the sky after her.

Tharlyssa looked back. The enormous attack was closing in.

Her crimson eyes widened as sheer terror overtook her expression.

"NOOOOOOOOO!!!"

BOOOOOOMMMM!!!

The pillar of ice struck her just as she crashed into the roof of a nearby building.

The impact swallowed the structure in a violent explosion, sending debris and frozen fragments scattering across the surrounding streets.

The entire area was engulfed in silver-blue light.

Then the pillar crashed down upon the building, burying everything beneath a mountain of ice.
