Extreme Almightiest Young Master
Chapter 2846 - 2822: Mother Tao
Chapter 2846: Chapter 2822: Mother Tao
Chapter 2822 Mother Tao
Lin Feng heard this and didn’t ask much; geomancers are always so mysterious. Since he calculated that Lin Feng would be in the Holy City, why did he not appear earlier? Over the years, he has been yearning to find the reincarnation of Geomancer Qianjue, and finally, he can fulfill this wish. Looking at Wan Hai, he couldn’t help but smile; life is really marvelous. Who would have thought that a reincarnated person would remember promises from a past life? He then asked, "So what have you been doing all these years?"
"I’ve been waiting for you. I’ll naturally appear at the right time, hahaha," Wan Hai said mysteriously while drinking and gazing at Lin Feng, then suddenly asked, "Why haven’t I seen Tao Tao?"
"Tao Tao is in Lin City. I can’t bring her with me for now, but don’t worry, she’s doing well. I’ve always been curious about Tao Tao’s parentage, do you know?" Lin Feng asked Wan Hai, even though Tao Tao has always been with him. Tao Tao is also unclear about her origins, which might be a mystery she wants to unravel. He hopes Wan Hai can tell him.
After hearing Lin Feng’s question, Wan Hai thought for a moment and said, "Actually, I’ve previously used divination for Tao Tao but couldn’t decipher her background. This kind of situation is extremely rare; I can deduce who Tao Tao’s mother is, but not who her father is. At that time, Tao Tao was still young and unaware of the mystery of her origins, but as she grows up, this will become a knot in her heart."
Lin Feng looked at Wan Hai, who though a child, spoke with great maturity, exactly like Geomancer Qianjue back in the day. He suddenly remembered the portrait of Tao Tao’s mother he had seen years ago, which might provide Wan Hai with some clues. He continued, "A long time ago, Tao Tao and I inadvertently visited a shop that had a portrait of Tao Tao’s mother, sold to them years ago. It stirred up Tao Tao’s memories. Maybe we can find some clues from there."
"Wait a moment." Wan Hai thought of this and pushed aside the dishes on the table, laying out his Eight Trigrams diagram, writing down Tao Tao’s birth details, and began divining. He had said that, although he couldn’t find Tao Tao’s father, he might be able to deduce the whereabouts of Tao Tao’s mother, and if they found her, all mysteries would be solved. In fact, before he died in his previous life, if he hadn’t met Lin Feng, he had planned to return Tao Tao to her mother’s side, but meeting Lin Feng changed everything.
After a while, Wan Hai smiled and looked at Lin Feng, saying, "Chu Yun should be in a place not far from Ling City; we should be able to find her."
"Really? That’s great!" Lin Feng exclaimed excitedly upon hearing the news, then raised his glass to Wan Hai, saying, "Are you going to stay with me from now on!"
"Not necessarily, I am a master of divine calculation; it depends on my mood!" Wan Hai joked with Lin Feng.
"Hahaha..."
...
Thus, the two continued drinking and chatting in the tavern, and before they knew it, several hours had passed. Wan Hai, satisfied, gave a contented burp and said, "Everything is really expensive in this Holy City. It’s not easy to get a full meal. Waiting for you wasn’t easy!"
Lin Feng shook his head helplessly and smiled at Wan Hai, saying, "Once we’re full, let’s go find Tao Tao’s mother."
"Alright! How are we going to get there!" Wan Hai asked, as his current strength was only that of an ordinary person. Flying was obviously out of the question. As they chatted, they walked towards the tavern’s exit.
Summoning the Purple Feather Abyssal Phoenix from the dimensional space, Lin Feng pointed at it and said to Wan Hai, "Will this do?"
"Wow, this big bird! But Lin Feng, considering your level, isn’t this mount a bit too..." Wan Hai had just spoken half his sentence when he was glared back by the eyes of the Purple Feather Abyssal Phoenix. However, he knows Lin Feng’s strength is comparable to a Divine Emperor’s, so why is the mount only a Demon Venerable? He didn’t understand.
The Purple Feather Abyssal Phoenix, feeling scorned by an ordinary person, was quite displeased, but with Lin Feng around, it couldn’t voice its frustration and only lowered its head in grievance.
Lin Feng smiled serenely, then grabbed Wan Hai and threw him onto the back of the Purple Feather Abyssal Phoenix, and the two flew towards the direction Wan Hai indicated...
After flying for a full half month, they finally reached a small village near Ling City. Lin Feng and Wan Hai jumped off the back of the Purple Feather Abyssal Phoenix, then stored it away and walked towards the village. Along the way, Lin Feng kept wondering why Tao Tao’s mother would hide in such a place. He questioned whether Wan Hai might have calculated wrongly but didn’t voice his doubts and just continued following Wan Hai.
Finally, Wan Hai stopped in front of a dilapidated straw hut. The hut looked old enough that a gust of wind might blow it down, and the surrounding courtyard was desolate, entirely empty, revealing the extreme poverty of this family. Lin Feng and Wan Hai glanced at each other skeptically and gently knocked on the door of the straw hut.
"Knock knock."
"Knock knock knock!"
After knocking a few times without any response, Lin Feng was about to use his Divine Sense to investigate when a small gap opened in the door, and a gentle female voice came through: "Who is it?"
"I... I’m Tao Tao’s friend. May I ask if you are Tao Tao’s mother?" Lin Feng asked, hearing the delicate voice and speculating that it must belong to an exceedingly gentle woman.
"Creak..." Hearing the words Tao Tao, Chu Yun hurriedly opened the door and looked in surprise at the two people in front of her: a man in his thirties and a young man about seventeen or eighteen. How could these two be connected to her daughter? She looked at them unbelievably, her eyes filled with wariness.
Lin Feng was momentarily stunned seeing Chu Yun, as he could confirm this was indeed Tao Tao’s mother, looking exactly like the portrait—no, looking just like Tao Tao. He politely nodded to Chu Yun and said, "Hello, my name is Lin Feng. May I come in?"
Chu Yun noticed Lin Feng was well-dressed and polite, and he didn’t seem like a bad person. If he was truly Tao Tao’s friend, it would be impolite not to let him in, so she then invited Lin Feng and Wan Hai inside, poured them two cups of water, and sat at the table before asking, "Tao Tao, you say you’re Tao Tao’s friends, how did you find me?"
Wan Hai smiled and said, "You were so ruthless to leave Tao Tao in Ling City back then. If I hadn’t picked her up, she might have died on the streets."
Hearing this, Chu Yun was stunned. How could this young man know what happened back then, and how could Tao Tao have been found by this young man? What in the world was going on? But she had no time to ask all this and urgently inquired, "How is Tao Tao doing?"
At this point, tears flowed from Chu Yun’s eyes as she thought of the past. She was so reluctant at that time; if not for fleeing to save her own life and to prevent Tao Tao from dying alongside her, how could she have borne to abandon her daughter? Back then, in such a dire situation, she had no choice but to leave her daughter behind. Had her daughter stayed with her, she surely would have been implicated. Later, after she miraculously escaped, she returned to Ling City to search for Tao Tao but couldn’t find her. All these years, she had constantly been blaming herself, contemplating countless possibilities, and thinking that she might never reunite with Tao Tao in this lifetime. Now hearing the news that her daughter is alive, she really didn’t know what to say.
Seeing Chu Yun’s condition, Lin Feng immediately comforted her, "Don’t worry, Tao Tao is doing well. Ma’am, you can come to see her with me. Tao Tao would be very happy to see you."
Lin Feng knew that over the years, Tao Tao’s greatest wish was to find her biological parents. Tao Tao had been under the care of Geomancer Qianjue since childhood, and after Geomancer Qianjue passed away, Lin Feng was her only relative. If she knew her biological parents were still alive, it would be immensely good news for her.
"This..." Chu Yun wiped her tears, coming out of her reminiscence to face reality, and looking at Lin Feng, she said, "Though I want to see Tao Tao, now is not the right time..."
She had been waiting all these years for Tao Tao’s father, even if she wasn’t sure whether he was still alive, but as long as there was a glimmer of hope, she would wait. Now that she finally knew the good news that her daughter was alive, she felt no regrets if they could reunite as a family.
Hearing Chu Yun’s refusal, Lin Feng and Wan Hai exchanged a puzzled glance. Seeing how much Chu Yun appeared to miss Tao Tao, why would she refuse? Isn’t it a situation where she should be eager to see Tao Tao? Could there be some other reason? Then, Wan Hai asked, "Why not now?"
Chu Yun lowered her head in silence and did not reply for a long time. She absolutely couldn’t talk about Tao Zhan because his identity was special, and the more people know, the more dangerous it becomes. She naturally longed to see Tao Tao immediately, but now was not possible. If she left and Tao Zhan returned without seeing her, he would go crazy. She looked at Lin Feng and Wan Hai, hesitating to speak.
Lin Feng noticed Chu Yun had unspeakable difficulties, so he didn’t press further. He then stood up and said to Chu Yun, "Alright then, when you feel the time is right, come to Thunder Valley to find me. I hope you appear soon."
Looking at Lin Feng and Wan Hai, Chu Yun nodded and softly said, "Thank you."
The conflict within her heart was indescribable. On one side was her daughter, and on the other was her husband. Knowing that her daughter was now safe was the greatest comfort.
Seeing that continuing the conversation would yield no results, Lin Feng glanced at Wan Hai, then stood up and said to Chu Yun, "Then we’ll take our leave, ma’am."
Chu Yun rose with regret, looking at Lin Feng and Wan Hai. She indeed had her compelling reasons, which she couldn’t express to anyone, hoping that they could understand. She then escorted Lin Feng and Wan Hai to the door.
"No need to see us off!" Lin Feng and Wan Hai exited Mother Tao’s hut, turned around, and said, then proceeded to walk towards the village outskirts.
Chu Yun watched the two leave, then turned to find a Communication Talisman on the table, which must have been left by Lin Feng. It seemed this child was very thoughtful. She opened the window and looked into the distance, closed her eyes, and prayed that Tao Zhan would be safe and return soon so that they could reunite as a family.
