At such a critical moment, without the aid of the Snow’s Breath, he wouldn’t have survived.

You Su was indifferent to the old man’s blind faith, only feeling that this place didn’t seem as if it was being guarded by anyone.

After checking the surroundings and ensuring there were no hidden mechanisms, the group dared to proceed. At the Clan Leader’s call, everyone worked together to push the ancient stone door.

The door was heavy, but what impeded its opening was not its weight, but the frost accumulated in the gap between the door and the mountain rocks.

It was clear that this door hadn’t been opened for a long time.

"Creak——"

Cautiously, the group pushed open the heavy stone door, producing a harsh scraping sound, as if unveiling secrets hidden in the darkness.

The cave was pitch black, and You Su first threw a stone inside, only to hear echoes. Standing at the entrance, he peered inside. The cave was very deep, its end unknown. He could feel a piercing cold emanating from within, as if it came from the depths of the snow mountains.

"Where’s the guardian?" You Su felt a faint sense of oddity.

The Clan Leader also frowned, "Perhaps it’s already frozen to death, or has been sent away, or maybe the person I saw enter back then wasn’t a guardian at all. After all, this place is frigid and inhospitable to humans."

Upon hearing this, You Su took off his right glove and drew the cold Mo Song Sword. Holding the sword, he desired a direct connection.

Leading the group of mortals behind him, he entered the cave with a mix of tension and anticipation.

The air inside was cold and dry, and they all lit candles, their tiny flames swaying gently in the drafts brought by wind and snow, illuminating the interior of the cave.

"Here they are! They’re really here!" the Clan Leader exclaimed first.

Neatly arranged in the massive cavern were numerous large Divine Radiance Stones, each deeply black, exuding an ancient, weighty aura, as if narrating an ancient history.

The excitement in the Clan Leader’s voice was uncontrollable. He stepped forward, gently caressing the smooth surface, as if communicating with it. The surrounding clan members gathered around, their eyes full of fulfillment.

You Su stood aside, feeling uneasy. Observing every corner of the cave, he found that though the glow of the Divine Radiance Stones brought a sense of inexplicable comfort, there was a persistent ominous feeling in the air.

"Ah!!"

Suddenly, a piercing scream echoed in the cave!

You Su had anticipated this! Instantly, he focused his weight, leaping like a sparrow to the source of the scream, only to find nobody there!

He had been dragged away!

"Everyone, be careful!"

You Su shouted loudly, his voice echoing in the cave. In an alert moment, a low growl came from the corner, and a massive shadow darted out from the darkness, charging straight at them.

"This... this is... Bai Ze!"

Chen Yi’s face suddenly turned pale, and fear flickered in his eyes.

The guardian was enormous, standing over two meters tall, resembling both a tiger and an ox, with double horns on its head, covered in thick frost and fur, its eyes like burning flames, exuding a suffocating presence. Its appearance was like an avalanche roaring down from the snow mountains, stripping away any will to resist.

"Bai Ze?!"

A flash of doubt crossed You Su’s eyes, but there was no time to hesitate. He immediately unsheathed his sword, slashing at the giant beast charging towards him.

The clash of blade and flesh left You Su stunned to find that the Mo Song Sword could not penetrate Bai Ze’s palm at all!

Bai Ze, facing You Su, seemed to feel the pain inflicted by the Mo Song Sword. With a wave of its huge hand, it hurled You Su away.

Stabilizing himself in the air, You Su was immensely shocked. His physical strength was greater than ever, yet he was completely outmatched by Bai Ze’s power. Moreover, the Mo Song Sword, usually sharp as mud-cutting iron, left not even a scratch on the creature’s body!

What an terrifying physique!

"Ah!"

In that brief pause, another clan member was grabbed by the guardian’s massive claws, their anguished scream echoing in the cave. Bai Ze picked up the person by the feet and smashed them to the ground, like shaking a bunch of grapes, splattering blood onto Chen Yi’s face.

Chen Yi stared blankly at his companion’s death, realizing the grave error of their hasty intrusion.

Was seeking redemption a mistake too? Had he hidden his identity and ignored the Divine Radiance Stones, and settled in a small town with his clan, wouldn’t it have been better?

"You all leave first!!"

You Su quickly charged to intercept, while swinging his sword and directing the clansmen.

But Bai Ze, with its blood-red eyes, clearly wouldn’t allow the intruders to escape, blocking the entrance like a giant mountain.

You Su felt no Profound Qi emanating from this giant, meaning it was purely relying on its formidable physical strength to contend with him.

"You never mentioned there was such a monster here!!" You Su yelled at the dazed old man, trying to snap him out of it.

"It’s not a monster... it’s Bai Ze..." Chen Yi’s voice trembled, oddly tinged with immense sorrow for this creature that had killed his companion.

Brilliant flashes crossed You Su’s mind as he recalled the records of this unfamiliar term.

It is said Bai Ze is snow-white, capable of human speech, understanding all things, one of the rare Divine Beasts. Bai Ze appears when saints descend from heaven, a beast that turns misfortune into good fortune.

The Clan Leader was right; this place is inhospitable to humans, but not for Bai Ze!

Even if such a precious being were placed in desolate lands, how could one be at ease without a guardian?

But how could the auspicious beast of legend turn so vicious and mad?

Watching the mountain-like figure, You Su’s sword intent clanged in his hand. The guardian charged at him again, this time with even more unstoppable force. You Su felt his blood boil, the cold world almost making him forget that sensation.

He didn’t dodge, confronting Bai Ze’s charge head-on. Yet, even at such a cost, he confirmed that even in this state, he couldn’t withstand Bai Ze!

His body was knocked back, crashing into the stone wall.

The immense force churned his insides, blood rising to his throat, spurting out.

But Bai Ze didn’t give him a break, its massive fist coming again, and You Su hurriedly rolled aside to dodge. Missing its target, Bai Ze changed tactics, its large hand grabbing at You Su on the ground.

You Su spat a silent curse, using the Ruyi Wind Manipulation Skill to swiftly rise, the pain from his body not deterring him; rather, the battle made him forget the surrounding cold.

Bai Ze pounded its chest and roared at You Su. Having failed in their test of strength, You Su switched tactics, taking advantage of his nimble form to evade. Bai Ze, enraged, pursued relentlessly, even forgetting to chase the other intruders, allowing the surviving clansmen to retreat outside the cave.

Bai Ze’s attacks grew fiercer, and since You Su wasn’t skilled in evasion, he was eventually forced into a corner, having to face a blow to gain space. But just as they clashed, he noticed Bai Ze’s hand paused, pulling back as if wary!

You Su thought quickly, immediately understanding why!

He had been forced between two Divine Radiance Stones, Bai Ze’s move would have struck the stones too!

This guardian must have been ordered not to damage the Divine Radiance Stones!

You Su quickly extricated himself, formulating a strategy against the creature!
