Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 144: Angel Bonding With June
Third Person
Finally, the long tears inside the house were completely quiet.
While father and daughter rekindled their sweet reunion in the kitchen area, June was super busy showing Angel several old album photos of Baby April on the sofa.
"This is my big sister April when she was just a small baby, and this is me when I was a baby too. Can you see it now? I wasn’t lying at all when I told you earlier that I look exactly like my big sister April..." June said proudly, holding the heavy photo album up higher to show Angel all the clear physical similarities between her and April.
"And right here is baby Julie," June pointed her finger at another square picture. "She looks just like my mommy, and very soon there will be a baby Mars, my new baby brother. He is still inside my mommy’s big belly." She gave a warm, toothy smile up at Angel.
"Aww, that is really nice..." Angel replied softly.
Angel had been somewhat scared at first when the little girl approached her, but the cute sweetness June portrayed wasn’t quite enough for Angel to completely let down her usual guard just yet. Still, she couldn’t bring herself to push the child away.
Now June was comfortably sitting right on Angel’s lap, excitedly showing her endless adorable baby pictures of April and herself side by side.
"I see your daddy really likes naming his children after the calendar months..." Angel said, turning another page of the photo album.
"Yes, Daddy loves the months so much, and that’s why he named us after what he loves," June explained, swinging her small legs back and forth over Angel’s knees. "I also have seven other cousins who are named after the days of the week too. My favorite cousin’s name is Wednesday..."
"That is so good to hear..." Angel chuckled quietly, resting her hands on June’s waist so she wouldn’t slip off.
"Are you going to name your first baby May?" June suddenly asked, tilting her head up to look straight at Angel’s face.
"Huh?" Angel blinked, caught off guard by the abrupt question.
"My daddy wanted to name me May when I was born, but my big sister April told him back then that she was going to name her own first child May..." June said, looking at Angel with pure curiosity in her wide eyes. "Are you and April girlfriend and girlfriend?"
"Yes, we are definitely girlfriend and girlfriend..." Angel confirmed with a small, proud smirk.
"So when you get married and have a baby together, you will name her or him May. If you don’t do that, then I will name my own baby May when I grow up..."
"Alright then. Whoever has a baby first gets the full right to name their first baby May," Angel said smoothly to the little girl, offering her pinky finger for a deal.
"Okay. Now that whole thing is settled, let’s continue looking..." June said, locking her tiny pinky with Angel’s before flipping the album page once again. "This is my big sister April on her very first day of kindergarten. She was crying so loud because she lost her front tooth, and Daddy couldn’t find where the Tooth Fairy was hiding. And this picture right here is when Daddy dressed up as the real Tooth Fairy himself, and she was smiling super big. You can clearly see her missing tooth right there..."
While looking closely at the cute pictures, Angel was laughing softy at every single one of them. Baby April was truly beyond adorable.
Over in the open kitchen area, April had been standing by the counter, constantly looking over at the two girls making fun of her old childhood pictures.
April wasn’t happy about it at all. Now Angel had plenty of embarrassing stories to use against her later.
At the exact same time, deep down in her heart, April was so incredibly happy that her father still kept and treasured every single memory of her childhood, unlike her mother, who didn’t even keep one single picture of her anywhere, not even saved on her cellphone.
"Your girlfriend is really adorable, look at her bonding with your sister.." April’s father asked in a low voice as he watched the peaceful scene taking place between his future daughter-in-law and his second daughter on the couch. "When did you two meet and find each other?"
"Inside a mansion..." April said simply, a soft smile touching her lips as she remembered their first moment...
Both father and daughter were busy working together at the counter making their favorite food, or more like April’s favorite comfort food in the world.
Mac and cheese.
Having something simple to work on together like this was really good for the two of them after missing out on so many years.
"Daddy, are we seriously eating mac and cheese again for dinner tonight?" June shouted loudly from her spot on the living room couch. "You keep making it all the time every single day..."
"Don’t worry about it, sweetie," Mr. August called back with a chuckle, stirring the pot on the stove. "I’m also making a big batch of delicious spaghetti and meatballs alongside it..."
"Yummy... I love spaghetti and meatballs so much!" June cheered, clapping her hands together. Then she turned back toward..
"What is your favorite food in the whole world?"
"Mac and cheese..." Angel blurted out instantly. That was literally the only food name that could possibly come out of her mouth right now since she had eaten it so many times with April.
Also she was trying not to say the actual first word....
June squinted her eyes playfully. "I know for sure you don’t actually like it that much... Did big sister April make you like it?"
"Yes..." Angel admitted, nodding her head without any shame.
"That is the exact same as my mommy," June giggled, leaning back against Angel’s chest. "She always says she likes it too just because it’s Daddy’s best food in the world. But that is definitely not her best food at all..."
"Maybe she just says she likes it because she really likes the person who eats it..." Angel said softly, glancing over at April in the kitchen.
"But Daddy is not a food..." June frowned, trying to figure out the logic behind that statement.
"Well..."
Before Angel could say something totally bizarre or weird to the little girl...
"Little sister June, why don’t you come over here and show me your own baby pictures too...?" April called out loudly from the kitchen counter, cutting Angel off mid-sentence.
She already knew deep down that Angel was about to start saying something totally inappropriate or strange to a five-year-old.
"Okay, big sister! I’m coming right now... I will see you later!" June whispered quietly up to Angel before sliding off her lap to run across the room to meet her sister.
