Chapter 150: Dating Anniversary

The entire place was filled with massive celebration.

Angel and April were officially celebrating their six-month anniversary, but the whole event looked far more like a grand six-year wedding anniversary.

The entire Del Rosario property had been completely transformed for the occasion. Tables had been arranged across the open yard, decorations were hanging from different parts of the house, and music could be heard from almost every corner of the property.

There was food everywhere.

There were enough dishes on the tables to feed the entire town several times over, and judging by the number of people walking around with plates in their hands, that was probably exactly what the family had planned.

In the small town of Playa Linda, the Del Rosario family was easily the second most famous family around, right after the Carrillo family, who happened to be somewhat of a local mafia family.

They had enthusiastically invited the entire town to come over and celebrate the young couple’s anniversary with food and music.

People from different parts of Playa Linda had shown up throughout the afternoon. Farmers had left their fields for a few hours, fishermen had come directly from the docks, ranch workers had brought their families, and even some elderly residents had dressed up for the occasion.

It was certainly a very good thing for the local people, but definitely not for the actual couple.

All they had truly wanted from the very beginning was to have some quiet alone time together, and now it was everybody’s public time instead.

Angel had barely managed to spend a few peaceful minutes with April before somebody came over to congratulate them, hand them a gift, or ask them to take pictures together.

April was trying her best to keep smiling through everything, while Angel had already reached the point where she was simply staring into the distance with tired eyes.

"Congratulations to my precious little flower and her sweet blossom!" Lucinda congratulated the two girls, who simply smiled politely every single time anyone looked over at them.

She showered them with warm kisses on their cheeks and handed them gifts.

Lucinda might be an Omega, but she absolute wore the pants in the relationship, and literally everything that was currently happening on the property was because of her orders.

There was practically nothing happening at the celebration that hadn’t already been approved by Lucinda.

Even the amount of food had been decided by her.

The decorations had been chosen by her.

The music had been arranged because of her.

The number of guests was also completely her doing.

Angel’s tired eyes slowly shifted over toward her Alpha grandma, Paula, desperately hoping she would step in and do something to stop the madness, but Paula simply nodded her head in silent sympathy.

She was completely helpless. Her Omega woman was the one running the entire household and controlling her daily life.

Paula had clearly accepted her fate a long time ago.

Angel couldn’t even blame her.

If Paula was standing on the other side of the battlefield, then Angel was completely alone in this fight.

"I’m seriously going to kill that Dante boy tonight," Angel muttered under her breath, her jaw tightening.

April quickly hit her shoulder with a light smack.

"Hey, he is technically your uncle," April scolded in a low voice. "Don’t say terrible things like that out loud."

"That dude always seems to be way too noisy about everything," Angel grumbled back, folding her arms. "He will be the only one bathing all the farm horses for a full week straight after this."

Angel fully meant every single word she said.

This was definitely not the first time Dante had done something annoying like this to her.

He was always hanging around Angel everywhere she went on the ranch, constantly dropping by her spot and immediately telling on Angel to his mother whenever she did something interesting.

Angel had no idea how someone so young could possibly have so much energy.

Whenever she thought she had finally managed to get some peace, Dante somehow appeared from nowhere.

This time, however, he had managed to make the entire family aware of their six-month anniversary.

Angel still couldn’t figure out how the information had spread so quickly.

She had originally expected the day to be simple.

Maybe they would have dinner together, take a walk, spend some time at home, and enjoy being alone without anybody interrupting them.

Instead, she was surrounded by half the town.

"Just forget about it for now, Papi," April said, taking her hand and lacing their fingers together. "This is actually really lovely. At least they have completely good intentions inside their hearts for us."

"Yeah, yeah," Angel sighed, looking around at the crowd of smiling townspeople. "They are always celebrating every single tiny achievement we make. Even when we first arrived here months ago, they threw a massive party like I was some returning prodigal child..."

"Aww, they are just so sweet to us," April giggled softly, leaning her head against Angel’s shoulder. "I really wonder what on earth they will do when we finally get married. The wedding is going to be absolutely gigantic."

Angel’s mind completely froze the exact second she heard the word marriage slip right out from her girlfriend’s mouth.

All she could possibly do in that moment was stand still and stare directly at her girlfriend in total silence.

For someone who had been complaining about the celebration only moments ago, Angel suddenly looked as if she had forgotten everything happening around her.

The music, the people, the food, the decorations, and even the constant movement around them seemed to disappear from her mind.

"Our wedding is definitely going to be so grand," April continued casually, missing the shocked look on the Alpha’s face.

"Are you secretly planning on proposing to me soon?" Angel asked, her face breaking into a wide grin as she flashed her teeth.

"I don’t know," April replied playfully, tilting her head. "What exactly made you think about that right now?"

"You literally just mentioned the word marriage out loud to me."

"Hmm, yes, I guess I did," April said, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "But I’m definitely not proposing to you anytime soon, so don’t get excited."

The playful teasing had been going on back and forth for months now, with Angel constantly having the strong impression that April was secretly planning to propose to her any day now.

April kept leaving subtle hints around the house and in conversations, though Angel honestly didn’t know if those hints were intentional to drive her crazy or if they were simply slipping out by total accident.

Every little thing seemed to make Angel suspicious.

Whenever April casually mentioned the future, Angel immediately started wondering if there was some secret plan behind it.

Whenever April looked at a ring in a store window, Angel remembered it for days.

Whenever April talked about married couples, Angel’s imagination immediately went somewhere else.

It had become one of their little games, even though Angel took it much more seriously than she probably should have.

"You know, I would instantly say yes without hesitating if you actually did propose to me..." Angel winked at her smoothly, pulling her a little closer.

"I am really not proposing to you today, girl," April giggled, pressing her hand against Angel’s chest. "Don’t get your hopes up so high."

The two girls happily tap-danced together to the energetic music for a bit before slowing down their quick steps and dancing very closely in each other’s arms.

For a brief moment, the enormous celebration around them didn’t matter.

Angel was simply enjoying having April close to her, even with dozens of people watching them.

Katie and the twins were also present at the gathering, walking over to hand the couple a large wooden basket filled with fresh oranges and apples straight from their trees.

Thanks to Carlos, who quietly stepped in and helped the two girls sneak away unnoticed from their own party, they were finally able to escape down the quiet dirt path so they could finally have their private romantic moments alone.
