Chapter 2498: Don’t Worry

It seemed that after hearing some news, a heavy dose of academic seriousness appeared between his eyebrows and eyes.

After a while, the person on the other end of the call remembered her presence and reminded him to ask, "Is Yingying awake yet?"

"Before I picked up the call, I saw she was still sleeping. I didn’t wake her up because I wanted her to sleep a little longer," Cao Yong said.

Upon hearing Senior Cao’s voice, Xie Wanying nervously closed her eyelids, knowing it was wrong to eavesdrop on someone else’s call.

"I’ll go back and check on her." After saying this, Cao Yong hung up the phone, always keeping her as his priority. He turned around, left the balcony, opened the sliding glass door, and walked back into the hospital room.

Soon, he was looking down at her "sleeping" without saying a word.

Xie Wanying couldn’t hold on for more than a few seconds before she surrendered, realizing her foolishness.

Was she stupid? Pretending to sleep in front of a technical master like Senior Cao? Wasn’t this just stating the obvious? No wonder sometimes she felt she wasn’t much different from Senior Brother Huang, both being little fools.

"Senior brother, where did you sleep last night?"

Generally, doctors fear the most when a critical organ has a problem which could lead to lack of blood or oxygen in the patient’s body, and that would be a significant issue.

Xie Wanying accepted the technical criticism from her senior and sat up.

Seeing the kindness in the junior apprentice sister, Cao Yong continued, "Think about it, if yesterday’s situation were reversed, wouldn’t you have done the same thing as I did?"

"Definitely." Xie Wanying blurted out her answer. If the senior brother needed it, she would certainly stay in the hospital room to care for him.

Isn’t that the point?

Realizing something, Xie Wanying raised her head, her gaze meeting Senior Cao’s smiling, beautiful eyes, like glass marbles, making her blush immediately.

While they were talking, a guest arrived.

"Are you awake? If so, have some breakfast. I brought you fried dough sticks, buns, and congee, everything you could want." The person who came in was advertising the breakfast they had brought for the patient.

"Teacher Ren." Xie Wanying immediately called out to the arriving mentor, "Why are you here?"

The student obviously didn’t know he had already been here last night. Ren Chongda looked around the room and, not seeing Cao Family’s Second Child, asked his old classmate, "Where’s your second brother?"

Hearing this, Xie Wanying was shocked that the Immortal Brother stayed here last night.
