Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s
Chapter 2567: An Impossible Miracle
"Speak clearly," Mu Yongxian articulated each word to his subordinate.
Dr. Han was so frightened he almost cried. Had he known earlier that the report over the phone wasn’t as severe as it sounded, he wouldn’t have rushed to notify his superior, ending up in such a mess.
"They previously said the heart had stopped and chest compressions were needed," Dr. Han said.
A child’s heart stopping is one of the most critical situations and does indeed warrant notifying the attending physician.
"When I arrived, I found out it hadn’t stopped; everything’s fine," Dr. Han said, looking at the child’s stable ECG, unsure if he or the PICU staff had seen ghosts.
How could there be such a miracle? A patient’s heart stops and suddenly starts again on its own? If such patients exist, why would doctors be needed?
Dr. Han really couldn’t explain this clearly to his superior.
The subordinate had given a confused report over the phone.
Mu Yongxian’s face remained cold and stern; he had no choice but to continue to the PICU to understand the situation himself in person.
Looking back, the people from the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Second Department were actually following him, clearly heading in the same direction.
"Is the patient from Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Second Department being resuscitated?"
After receiving this question from his superior, Dr. Han paused and said, "Probably not. There’s no other patient being resuscitated here."
Mu Yongxian heard this statement.
So did Cao Zhao and the others nearby. Their intuition suggested that Student Xie’s "trouble" was likely related to a patient from Pediatric Cardiac Surgery First Department.
Sigh. A group of students started worrying for Student Xie: "Trouble" involving a rival department, not knowing if it’s good or bad.
The two bosses in front first changed their shoes and hats before hurrying into the PICU, and a group of others quickly followed.
The second wave of the larger group entered the PICU.
The nurse announced upon seeing them, "Doctor Yao, Dr. Cao, Dr. Mu are here."
Doctor Yao turned around and saw the two famous pillars of pediatric cardiac surgery in the hospital, uttering an "ah" of surprise: "What Dr. Cao? Isn’t that Director Cao?"
"Yes," nodded the nurse.
"You said Dr. Cao!" Doctor Yao emphasized the nurse’s mistake.
"In our hospital, the only doctor in pediatric cardiac surgery with the surname Cao is Director Cao," the nurse insisted she was right.
It was Doctor Yao’s own mind that hadn’t processed it immediately.
Sweat dripped from Doctor Yao’s forehead with a splat.
If he had known it was Cao Zhao’s student earlier, who would dare to casually accuse a director’s student?
Mu Yongxian and Cao Zhao almost entered the ward simultaneously, and Cao Zhao asked, "Who called to notify me to come over, who was it?"
This Immortal Brother had laid a trap, seemingly asking who complained, or who the complaint was against? — Pan Student and the others immediately understood in their minds and tightly shut their mouths, knowing someone would be in trouble.
Doctor Yao had no other option but to brace himself and reply, "Director Cao, it was reported by your nurses, saying your student privately placed their hand into Dr. Mu’s patient’s chest cavity, intending to perform cardiac compressions. We thought, since it’s a student, afraid that later Dr. Mu and his people might say something, so just in case, we asked you to come up and take a look."
Upon hearing Doctor Yao’s words, it wasn’t Cao Zhao’s group that reacted, but Dr. Han. Dr. Han’s gaze shot to Doctor Yao’s face, eyes filled with disbelief: What did you say? When did I ever say I wanted to accuse someone?
This kind of thing needed clarification. Dr. Han immediately made his stance clear: "I didn’t tell anyone to make the call."
Doctor Yao turned his head towards Dr. Han, showing confusion: It’s your patient, something happened and you’re not complaining?
