Besides experimental pigs, other high-status lab animals usually include dogs, monkeys, cattle, sheep, and the like. The rarer the experimental animal, the more valuable it is.

These experimental animals are not supplied by the Animal Experiment Building itself. Researchers purchase them and, according to the medical university’s management regulations, must store them here, where the experimental animals and their use are centrally managed. Because these are medical experimental animals, they may carry pathogens; letting them contaminate the outside environment would be bad.

Strict handling of experimental animals according to regulations is mandatory. If a contamination incident occurs, it usually happens inside.
