Chapter 2631: Chapter 1142: Return to Colossus City (Part 3)
This is why, from a distance, the Colossus looks all green, especially on the top, like wearing a giant green hat.
"Air glass? Are you talking about that special glass used on Armed Ray Fish, with hardness comparable to fine steel?" Philancy queried curiously as she jumped onto the top of a giant greenhouse, bouncing hard.
The result was motionless.
This not only showcased the superiority of the material but also demonstrated the excellent craftsmanship of the construction team.
Nearby, a construction team building a greenhouse could be seen, composed of mixed Dwarf craftsmen and Gnolls.
The Dwarf craftsmen were responsible for the core work, while the Gnolls handled the corner tasks and miscellaneous work, cooperating quite smoothly.
Clearly, they’ve been doing this for more than a day; both sides were used to each other’s working style and pace.
"That’s the material." The Black Dragoness said proudly, "It’s our specialty!"
"Squandering of resources! You all truly squander resources!" Philancy lamented painfully, "How could you waste such materials this way?
This material is simply perfect for forging Magic Items, light yet sufficiently hard, and with ample magic compatibility.
Given this, what need is there for enchanted steel? Why didn’t you mention this earlier?"
The final sentence was clearly aimed at questioning Gaven.
Gaven blinked, a bit embarrassed, "I forgot about that!"
The Legendary Arcanist felt an urge to vomit blood, how could something like this be forgotten?
Philancy gritted her teeth, asking severely, "What’s the annual production of this tempered glass?"
"It’s a by-product, the production is somewhat scarce." Shanoba estimated roughly, "There’s an annual production of about a thousand tons."
"An annual production of a thousand tons is still considered scarce." Philancy felt the Versailles effect strongly.
But upon reflection, considering that the annual production of Dwarf Steel Ingots reaches ten thousand tons, this production indeed isn’t much.
"Prepare an air glass for me." demanded Philancy, "I want to analyze its detailed data to see how high its usability actually is."
"That’s simple, we’ll go directly to the air glass production line." Without another word, Gaven grabbed the Legendary Arcanist and walked toward the Colossus Underground City.
"Master, the great Master...woof...I’ve seen you...kneel...quickly kneel woof..."
"The Master has arrived...the great Master has arrived woof..."
"So this is our Master woof..."
Though Gaven tried to remain as low-key as possible, along the way chaos ensued, with the Gnolls kneeling and saluting him incessantly.
Though he hadn’t visited Colossus City for over a year, his legend still persisted here, even the newly arrived Gnolls recognized his appearance, as his super giant statue stood prominently, serving as their frequent worship object, granting them Divine Protection.
The relatively low intelligence of Gnolls made many tasks quite troublesome—they learned slowly, couldn’t handle overly complex tasks, etc.
However, when it came to faith, it proved highly advantageous; they were simple-minded to the point of obsession, once believing in something, it was hard to sway them.
They believed Gaven was a True God, a God protecting them, which allowed them to develop and thrive, gift them a city, and offer them the chance to become dragons.
Master is what Gnolls call a deity.
Or rather, these weak creatures tended to serve their rulers as if they were gods, an innate racial trait.
Helplessly, Gaven could only cast the Invisibility Technique on the trio to proactively avoid the Gnolls along the way.
"Praise the Master woof.., the Master is almighty woof..."
"The Master is indeed as strong as legend has it woof..."
"Praise the Master..."
The Gnolls paused briefly, then loudly praised, even though Gaven and the others had already walked far away.
Rumble!
Accompanied by the roar of steam, the steam-powered elevator stopped in front of Gaven and the others.
With the sound of massive pulleys, the huge iron door slowly opened, and four stocky Dwarves hurriedly wanted to rush out.
"Giharin Clan Leader." Gaven voluntarily lifted the invisibility, calling out to them.
At the head of these four Dwarves was none other than the Legendary Dwarf Blacksmith, Tesser Yama, the Wandering King.
He clearly heard the news, preparing to go out to greet him.
"Truly Lord Gaven." Granted Giharin was momentarily stunned, he quickly laughed heartily, extending his thick arms and swiftly stepping forward to give Gaven a big Dwarf-style hug, "Why is the Lord using the Invisibility Technique in his own domain?"
Gaven smiled wryly, "It’s those Gnolls forcing my hand, they’re too enthusiastic, wherever I go they kneel, I’ve been correcting them from the start, but they haven’t truly learned yet."
"Ha...those little guys..." Speaking of Gnolls, even the Giharin Clan Leader showed a troubled expression, "If trained well, those little guys are quite useful, but they’re too noisy, barking from dawn till dusk, I wonder where they get all that energy!"
"They may say, their bodies also contain Giant Dragon Bloodline." Gaven chuckled, "There’s no such thing as perfection in the world, and if you want to capitalize on their numerical advantage, you must endure the drawbacks their numbers bring."
Initially, his biggest concern was about the coexistence of Dwarves and Gnolls.
Even within the same race, placing different clans together often leads to issues.
Not to mention they weren’t even the same species.
But Gaven quickly realized, his worries were unfounded.
These Dwarves and Gnolls not only avoided conflict, but they got along quite well.
Many interspecies conflicts stemmed from competition for living space and resources; when both are abundant, the chance for war and conflict significantly decreases.
The newly reopened Colossus City was large enough, capable of hosting both races here, even now the city isn’t fully occupied.
Of course, it also helped that the two races complemented each other well.
Dwarves were never renowned for their numbers, and high-density tasks with low technological requirements were always troublesome for them—for example, farming.
If relying solely on themselves, let alone expanding large-scale farming on the surface, even the underground Mushroom Gardens would occupy a considerable amount of their workforce.
The Gnolls are famous for being prolific, known for their quantity over quality, they could only take on high-density, low-tech jobs; as for high-end tasks, don’t count on them.
