Fate-Defying Demon Emperor
Chapter 972: Surrender or Die?
The Soul Searching Technique is not a Divine Method, but it’s something Su Han acquired from the memories of gods and demons. Though it has many drawbacks, its effect is quite good.
Soon, Su Han obtained a lot of information he wanted from Black Impermanence’s memories.
First, the lord of Hell is indeed King Yama from King Yama’s Palace.
Second, Black Impermanence hasn’t heard of Ning Feifan, but King Yama does know him and is aware of Ning Feifan’s relationship with Su Han. This sufficiently proves that King Yama and Ning Feifan have a very close relationship; Ning Feifan might even be in King Yama’s possession.
Third, besides the lord in Hell, there’s also a judge of life and death, who is a Great Saint expert with extremely great strength. Beneath the judge of life and death are the four soul-retrieving envoys: Ox Head and Horse Face, along with Black and White Impermanence.
Among these four, Black Impermanence turns out to be the weakest; even White Impermanence has the strength of Sage Realm Fifth Layer. As for Ox Head and Horse Face, they are even stronger, being experts of Sage Realm Eight and Ninth Layer.
These three pieces of information are very important for Su Han. Not only do they confirm King Yama’s identity for him, but they also further inform him of Ning Feifan’s predicament and reveal the upper echelons’ structure in Hell.
"King Yama knows me. Although I can perform Thousand Changes and Transformations to turn into the appearance of Black Impermanence, it’s easy to be exposed. For now, I’ll keep this identity, and use it when there’s an opportunity!"
Su Han isn’t worried about anyone else; his sole concern is King Yama. This man is not only strong but also extremely mysterious and knows quite a lot about him.
Su Han’s Thousand Changes and Transformations can deceive Great Emperor Realm experts; it stands to reason it can deceive King Yama, but he doesn’t blindly trust this and prefers to be cautious.
Ho ho!
At this moment, Black Impermanence’s eyes were vacant, drooling like an idiot. This is a drawback of the Soul Searching Technique—the person searched can become mentally deranged, turning into a fool, and in severe cases suffer a mental breakdown, becoming a living dead.
Su Han initially planned to subdue Black Impermanence and make him serve, but Vajra Subduing Demons didn’t work, so he had to resort to this option.
Now, Black Impermanence has lost his value and has become a fool, so Su Han snapped his fingers, and Fourfold True Flame landed on Black Impermanence, incinerating him to ashes, destroying the evidence.
Although Black Impermanence was also a Sage Realm expert, he didn’t have a Special Physique and was too saturated with Yin Energy, so Su Han didn’t want to devour and refine him using Devouring Heaven Demonic Art; hence, destroying his body was the best choice.
However, Su Han kept Black Impermanence’s robe and Soul-Snatching Ghost Chain, making it easier for him to disguise as Black Impermanence in the future.
Shua!
Su Han reached out and took a token from Black Impermanence’s Storage Ring. The token was entirely pitch black, cold to the touch like ice, heavy with Yin Energy.
The token’s front side was inscribed with the ancient character "Black," and the back was engraved with a skull emblem.
This should be Black Impermanence’s identity token, which might be useful upon entering Prison State.
Apart from the identity token, there were many treasures in the Storage Ring, but none caught Su Han’s Dharma Eye, so he kept them all without much thought.
Black Impermanence had been dealt with, but there was still another problem.
Su Han turned his gaze towards Du Yao, who was still firmly bound by the Soul-Snatching Ghost Chain. The invasion of Yin energy made her whole body cold as iron, unable to move.
The Catastrophe Devil Body is exceedingly rare, should he devour her?
This thought flashed through Su Han’s mind but was quickly dismissed; first, devouring a Catastrophe Devil Body had limited enhancements for him, second, he needed a guide to enter Prison State.
He’s not familiar with Prison State; if he blindly ventures in, finding out Ning Feifan’s whereabouts would be extremely difficult, and having too many actions might attract too much attention.
This Du Yao seems like a good guide; she appears to be someone from Prison State and seems to have deep-seated hatred towards Hell, so he doesn’t have to worry about her reporting back to Hell.
"Maddening Bell!"
Su Han reached into the Bronze Ring to take out a treasure, a Holy Artifact acquired from Meng Po Empress, capable of enchanting minds and temporarily making people obey his commands.
"Divine Method: Vajra Subduing Demons!"
Su Han activated the Maddening Bell while casting the Divine Method, unleashing a torrent of Divine Sense Power, transforming into a Vajra Buddha figure, aiming to use Buddha Nature to make Du Yao a loyal follower.
Boom!
As Su Han’s Divine Sense entered Du Yao’s forehead, he immediately felt an extreme crisis. Before he could react, his Divine Sense was bitten.
Suddenly, Su Han felt a splitting headache, as if stung by a thousand venomous bees. The pain was so unbearable that he started hitting his head in an attempt to alleviate it.
After a long time, the pain gradually lessened but remained quite agonizing, causing tears to stream down Su Han’s face.
"Hell’s Poisonous Snake!"
Su Han wiped away the tears, squinting his eyes, staring at Du Yao. When his Divine Sense was bitten, he saw clearly what it was.
It was a serpent soul, filled with the essence of death and hell, extremely poisonous, very much like the Hell Poisonous Snake Whip Du Yao wielded.
The serpent soul was terrifying, and without Su Han’s strong Divine Sense, he would have been entirely devoured and turned into a living dead.
It seems impossible to use Vajra Subduing Demons to subdue Du Yao; today he has failed twice, surprising Su Han.
If he cannot subdue her through special means, he can only use ordinary methods.
After stabilizing his Divine Sense, Su Han looked back at Du Yao.
He used the Secret of the Soldier Character to control the Soul-Snatching Ghost Chain, dissipating the Yin energy, allowing Du Yao to regain her ability to speak.
"I give you two choices: submission or death!"
Su Han stared at Du Yao, his voice cold, devoid of emotion.
Du Yao’s heart still raced with panic; intending to sneak into Prison State using an airship and then seek revenge, she didn’t expect a tornado to drag in Black Impermanence.
Being caught by Black Impermanence, she fell into despair, thinking she was doomed this time, never expecting Su Han to appear midway, possessing incredible strength, and easily eliminating Black Impermanence.
Although she didn’t know who Su Han was or why he killed Black Impermanence and what enmity there might be with Hell, when she looked into Su Han’s eyes, she saw his resolve; she knew if she refused, Su Han would not hesitate to kill her.
Du Yao didn’t want to die; she bore deep-seated hatred, and with her enemies alive, how could she face death?
It’s better to fall into Su Han’s hands than Hell’s, and given that he seems to have issues with Hell too, maybe she could join him in seeking revenge against Hell.
Thinking this, Du Yao made her decision.
"I am willing to submit!"
Su Han transformed Fourfold True Flame into a seed of fire and embedded it into Du Yao’s body. As soon as she shows the slightest disloyalty, Su Han can ignite the seed and turn her to ash.
The Soul-Snatching Ghost Chain unraveled, leaving Du Yao with complicated feelings. She gracefully bowed:
"Du Yao, a humble servant, pays respects to the master!"
