Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2487: A Smile Lifting at the Corners of Her Lips

  • Next Chapter

As expected, Manager Quinto’s group had long forgotten about the minor figure Jasmine Yale, and they were already having a blast at the KTV.

Seeing Will Caddel bringing Jasmine Yale over, Quinto slapped his forehead, "Ah, my memory! I forgot to pick Jasmine up."

Will Caddel unwrapped his scarf and hung it on the coat rack, saying lightly, "Just don’t let your memory slip at work."

"Yes, CEO Caddel, you’re right to scold me."

"Leaving someone waiting outside in the wind is just the type of unreliable thing you’d do," Will Caddel commented blandly.

"Yes, CEO Caddel, you’re right. I’ve had too much to drink. I’m unreliable, unreliable indeed."

Will Caddel stood in front of Jasmine Yale, extending a hand, "Take off your coat, it’s warm in the room."

"I can do it myself, it’s fine..." Jasmine Yale said embarrassedly as she unbuttoned her coat and took off her scarf.

"No need to refuse every gesture, I dislike a sense of formality," Will Caddel said calmly, his hand still extended, eyes resting on her face.

Only then did Jasmine Yale hand her coat over to him.

Will Caddel took it, turned around, and carefully hung it up for her, his actions meticulous and gentle, with an air of extreme patience despite the calmness in his eyes.

The room was packed with people, the table piled with snacks, beer, toys...

The room was well-sealed, offering great privacy.

The lights were a dizzying mix of colors, predominantly red and green, casting strange shadows on everyone’s faces.

A few women were getting wild, shedding their coats and dancing front of the big screen. Some danced and sang, while others danced and drank beer.

No one felt restrained by Will Caddel’s presence.

Jasmine Yale stood at the door to the inner room, feeling a bit uncomfortable, yet also expectant and delighted.

She rarely found herself in such settings; she was either strictly controlled or simply had no opportunity.

How long had it been since she integrated into a life like this?

She was naturally fond of fun.

At seventeen or eighteen, she skipped evening classes and even dragged friends to an internet cafe.

Back then, playing dancing games was trendy, and she would lead her friends to dance along.

But she didn’t dare to play recklessly. After skipping once or twice to enjoy the thrill, she didn’t dare do it again, fearing the repercussions if caught.

Now, looking at the lively private room, a long-buried part of her was reawakening.

She felt excited.

Will Caddel walked over to her, "Would you like something to eat?"

She looked up at him, smiled, and shook her head, "No, I’d like to sit and watch you all have fun if that’s okay?"

"Of course, no need to ask such a simple question," Will Caddel thought she was far too cautious, quick to refuse others, and tended to hide her true self.

"Nothing, just asking."

"Let’s go."

Will Caddel led her further inside.

The lighting in the room was somewhat suggestive, eerie and dazzling, mystifyingly vivid.

Everyone’s faces were masked in shadows and covered with colorful lights.

A few men began singing loudly.

Jasmine Yale sat on the sofa, quietly watching them play, a smile lifting the corners of her mouth.

Initially, she felt some resistance, but now she felt none at all.

Will Caddel sat down beside her.

He remained mostly silent, leaning against the edge of the sofa, his gaze fixed on the screen ahead.

Manager Quinto offered Will Caddel a cigarette, "CEO Caddel, care for a cigarette?"

"Mm." Will Caddel accepted it.

Manager Quinto lit it for him.

Smoke enveloped Will Caddel’s face, and under the lights and the haziness, he seemed to be cloaked in a shadow.
