"Stubborn as a mule." Sylvan Cheney coldly tossed out four words.

Jasmine Yale instead laughed, but the laughter lacked warmth: "I may not be as insightful as you, I may not measure up to you, but don’t deny my efforts. Even if life doesn’t go smoothly in the future, I’ll live well. In the future, don’t see me again, can you do that?"

"Do you think I want to see you? I’m just reminding you for old times’ sake."

"Well, thank you for the reminder, I’ve received it."

Sylvan Cheney didn’t like her attitude, and looked at her coldly.

Jasmine Yale turned around and walked away quickly, not even saying goodbye to him.

She left along the corridor, her shadow gradually disappearing at the corner, until her slender figure could no longer be seen.

The sunset was still that same sunset, the flowers and plants still thriving, the air filled with the scent and warmth of spring, year after year the flowers bloom, year after year people change.

Jasmine Yale walked away quickly, having long mastered the ability to cast aside unhappy things.

Returning to the venue, she was full of smiles, sitting beside Will Caddel, as if nothing had happened.

Will Caddel whispered, "The auction is almost over, there’s a wine reception afterward, do you want to attend? If not, we’ll head back."

"No, CEO Caddel, let’s go have dinner, my treat."

"Alright, you haven’t treated me to a meal yet."

"But CEO Caddel, you can’t complain about the food I choose," Jasmine Yale laughed.

"If it’s not good, I will complain."

Jasmine Yale talked quietly with him.

The auction was gradually coming to an end.

By the time the auction ended, the sun had set below the horizon, leaving only a streak of afterglow in the sky.

The people in the venue left gradually, Jasmine Yale and Will Caddel didn’t rush to leave, waiting until most people had gone, then stood up and headed to the parking lot.

On the way, Will Caddel received a call from the nanny at home.

"Okay, I understand, I’m free tonight."

"Not behaving? If it’s not behaving, feed it some fish snacks, hmm, and if it’s still not behaving, then let it starve."

"Alright, I got it."

Jasmine Yale turned her head to look at Will Caddel, his brow was gently laced with a hidden smile, his voice soft, as if talking to his child.

Jasmine Yale walked beside him, occasionally turning her head to look at his tall figure.

The streetlights stretched their shadows long, walking side by side, unhurried and leisurely.

The air in the manor at night was very fresh, filled with warmth everywhere, and occasionally, the chirping of birds could be heard, some long, some short.

Will Caddel hung up the phone.

Jasmine Yale smiled and said, "Fish snacks? Do you have a cat?"

"Yes, a fat and lazy cat."

"I used to have a cat too. When I first adopted it, it was so small, pitifully huddled at the side of the road, so I took it home. It kept me company for a long time, its name was Sweet Kitty."

Will Caddel laughed, "Even the pets you raise are called ’Sweet Kitty,’ just like you, sounds so obedient."

"Am I obedient? Occasionally."

"In my eyes, you’re quite well-behaved."

"CEO Caddel, what’s your cat’s name? Could it be called ’Little Naughty’?"

Will Caddel laughed even harder, thinking that Jasmine Yale was quite interesting, much more so than when he first met her, and the more they interacted, the more interesting she became.

"It’s not called Little Naughty, it’s called Olive."

"Olive? That’s not much different from Little Naughty," Jasmine Yale laughed, "Could it be a female cat?"
