Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2572: He Carried Her Into the Hotel
After making a wish, Jasmine Yale bent down to blow out the candles, her eyes bright like twinkling stars.
Will Caddel turned on the light and clapped his hands, "Happy Birthday."
"Thank you, CEO Caddel." Jasmine Yale felt this birthday was simple yet beautiful.
She was never one for luxury, nor was she hard to satisfy. She genuinely liked this way of celebrating her birthday, just having someone with her was enough.
"Come on, let’s cut the cake. Once we’ve eaten, it’ll be all sweet and lovely," Will Caddel handed her the plate and utensils.
Jasmine Yale carefully cut the cake, with total dedication, almost like she was crafting a proposal.
She gave the first piece of cake to Will Caddel, "Here, try some."
"Hmm."
Each of them took a piece and walked over to the window, standing side by side, enjoying the evening breeze while chatting.
"CEO Caddel, this birthday is quite unforgettable. I didn’t expect I’d be spending it with my boss this year."
"I’m just doing what little I can, it’s nothing. As long as you’re happy."
"I really am. It makes me very happy; today is a day I will remember."
Will Caddel remained silent for a long time, then chuckled, "There’s nothing much to remember."
The wind brushed against their faces, as gentle as willow fluff, soothing their mood.
Outside the window was a bustling street, and they stood shoulder to shoulder like this, eating cake and watching the avenue, the city lights, and this enchanting world.
This birthday, the entire day was spent with Will Caddel, from morning till night.
After dinner, they strolled around Chinatown.
Perhaps due to exhaustion, Jasmine Yale fell asleep in Will Caddel’s car, and he carried her to the hotel.
When she awoke, Will Caddel had already gone to the adjoining suite, leaving her alone sleeping on the hotel bed.
Jasmine Yale yawned and glanced at her phone; it was half-past midnight.
Her birthday had passed.
She took a shower and dried her hair, sitting alone on the balcony, resting her chin in her hands, gazing at the busy Old York.
This place is even more bustling than Cakago.
Feeling no sleepiness, she stared at the nighttime scenery for a while, then brought over her laptop, opening the long-neglected amusement park project plan - B plan.
The proposal was locked by her, but she opened it and started revising.
Her bright eyes fell on the computer screen, her fragrant hair draping over her shoulders, with quietness everywhere.
Jasmine Yale’s fair, slender fingers moved back and forth across the keyboard and touchpad, focused and attentive.
She hadn’t worked on this plan for a long time. Now, she is more professional, with greater knowledge, and looking at this plan again, she found many unsatisfactory parts.
Especially the sections that had yet to undergo any revisions, were full of flaws and lacked logical rigor.
Jasmine Yale continued making revisions, feeling no inclination to sleep.
After half an hour of editing, she stood up, took a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet, removed the cork, and poured herself a small glass.
She hadn’t had a drink alone at night for quite some time.
Drinking can adjust one’s mood; it’s not necessarily a bad thing, especially red wine, its unique fragrance can even boost work efficiency.
She held the wine glass and stood on the balcony, looking at the city below the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The roads in the early hours were quiet, without noise.
She raised her head and took a sip of red wine.
As the wine flowed into her stomach, Jasmine Yale’s eyes gained a touch of mystery and melancholy, she pursed her lips, then found a casual pose to sit in, just like that, watching Old York under the night sky.
The past cannot be chased.
