Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2596: The Most Annoying Self-Righteous People
"CEO Cheney, excuse me, I need to get into the conference hall," Jasmine Yale said politely yet gracefully, with a standard smile at the corner of her mouth.
Sylvan Cheney didn’t immediately respond; he just stared at her.
Jasmine Yale smiled awkwardly, "CEO Cheney..."
"ZR’s bid and proposal were well done, and your presentation was quite mature."
Jasmine Yale looked at him and smiled indifferently, "Thank you for the compliment, CEO Cheney. Our CEO Caddel guided us well."
"Hmph." He sneered, "Even so, you can’t establish yourself in this circle, don’t overestimate yourself."
Having said that, he withdrew his gaze and left without looking back.
Jasmine Yale sneered to herself, humph...
She hated people who are so self-conceited, and conveniently, he was just that type of person.
Jasmine Yale didn’t take his words to heart, she stepped into the conference hall and returned to her seat.
She noticed that all of Sylvan Cheney’s items had been removed, it seemed unlikely he would return to the hall anytime soon, probably gone to accompany Erin Janus to watch the sea.
Will Caddel drank the coffee she bought and handed over the notebook in his hand: "While you were out, I made some modifications, have a look, the project review distribution isn’t detailed enough."
Jasmine Yale felt flattered, "Thank you, CEO Caddel."
"What’s there to thank? It’s me that should thank you for the coffee. Also, why did you buy the iced tea? Even though the weather is hot, it can cause diarrhea, you shouldn’t have bought that."
"I was too thirsty, and it was really hot," Jasmine Yale replied helplessly.
"Let me exchange it for you."
"No." Jasmine Yale covered the cup, unwilling to let Will Caddel take it away, "It’s fine, it won’t be too cold."
Will Caddel felt more helpless but had to let go, "Don’t come crying to me with a stomachache."
"Okay, okay." Jasmine Yale nodded obediently.
Will Caddel shook his head, finding her difficult to deal with.
Her demeanor left him quite helpless.
Feeling extremely hot, Jasmine Yale took a sip of iced tea and finally felt better, allowing her to calm down and focus on her work.
Midway through, Will Caddel suggested she could return to the hotel to rest, but she refused, insisting on listening to the entire bidding session.
Will Caddel saw her notebook filled with dense work notes and casually flipped through it.
"You really are very dedicated," Will Caddel exclaimed.
"Born with dull wits, not a finance major, so I have to make up for it with hard work."
"Do you like this industry?" He asked calmly, "What did you originally want to do?"
"To be honest, I didn’t like it at first, you know? I hated numbers and calculations, and disliked socializing. But back then, I was young and childish. Before, I had many dreams, like wanting to open a café, raise a cat, and bask in the sun during class breaks. Doesn’t that sound nice?"
By the end, even she was laughing.
Those were truly innocent youthful days.
Will Caddel also laughed, "Sounds great."
"What about you? Do you really like finance?"
"I... it’s okay, doing business gives me a sense of security."
Jasmine Yale didn’t quite understand what this sense of security meant, perhaps it was about having lots of money and high status which equates to security?
It seems men tend to value these things more.
For her, entering this industry was simple, purely because of the high salary, to take good care of Little Clementine.
In fact, the salary was indeed good, before joining ZR, her finances were in the red, but now she has savings.
Moreover, she has gradually become familiar with this industry, and with Will Caddel, she felt very secure.
