Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2650: Then... Farewell
When Jasmine Yale walked towards him, he stood still with a slightly restless look in his eyes. That restlessness, unease, and anxiety were expressions she had never seen on his face before.
He was such an elegant, composed man, full of vigor when discussing ambitious plans.
Maybe she truly was someone who only skimmed the surface. After all, she didn’t even understand the man she had known for nineteen years, let alone Will Caddel, whom she had only known for less than a year.
"Jasmine." He called her name, his eyes unfocused.
She stopped walking and slightly curled her lips, "CEO Caddel."
"I’m sorry..."
She tilted her head and smiled, "CEO Caddel, thank you for taking care of me over the past half year. Before joining ZR, I had nothing, but now I’ve saved quite a bit. Time flies, it’s almost been a year."
"I’m sorry." For a moment, he didn’t know what to say, his gaze falling on her face.
She seemed very calm, showing no emotional fluctuations.
"CEO Caddel, if you must say those three words to me, then let me say three words too: thank you." This was something she had always wanted to say to Will Caddel.
Will Caddel’s long eyelashes trembled in the sunlight, remaining silent for a long time.
"Have you had breakfast? You didn’t come back all night."
"I was just about to go home and eat, CEO Caddel, would you like to join me?" she looked at him, just like she had many times before.
Every time they traveled on business, they would dine together. By now, she even knew what he liked to eat, but soon she would no longer need to remember.
"My father has returned to Kong Hong; he won’t trouble you anymore."
"CEO Caddel, I’ll send my resignation letter to your email in a bit. I hope you’ll approve it."
After a while, Will Caddel finally nodded powerlessly, saying nothing more.
Jasmine Yale didn’t ask any more questions; there was no point in asking further.
She smiled, "CEO Caddel, I’ll head upstairs first."
"Your bag is in my car, I’ll get it for you."
"Thank you, CEO Caddel."
Jasmine Yale stood still as Will Caddel walked a short distance away.
His Bentley was parked conspicuously outside the community.
Will Caddel brought Jasmine Yale’s bag and handed it to her; she just smiled and reached out to take it, "Thank you, CEO Caddel, and... goodbye."
"Jasmine!" He called her name as she turned to leave.
Jasmine Yale paused but did not turn back.
Will Caddel didn’t say anything either; after a few seconds, she resumed her stride forward.
Her shoes crunched through the sunlight and fallen leaves, and the community remained as peaceful and serene as always, like a calm sea with an eternally unruffled surface.
No matter how turbulent the waters might be beneath, the surface always appeared peaceful.
She didn’t look back, didn’t know what expression Will Caddel wore, and didn’t want to know.
She had accompanied him on many business trips: Old York, Conada, Sinkapore, Malborne... Every trip, she experienced mild discomfort from the changes, and every time, he would bring along medicine and look after her meticulously.
In each unfamiliar city, he was the only person she knew, someone she even relied on.
Whenever there was a break between business talks, he would take her on walks through the city’s streets and alleys.
By the lake, they could watch the water; at night, they could admire the lights; in Malborne, they could see little koalas eating fruit in the trees.
The maple leaves were fiery red, the green trees lush, each city with its unique charm.
