Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2675: His Wife Should Still Be by His Side

  • Next Chapter

This night, Sylvan Cheney didn’t leave the construction site.

In the morning, the rain was still falling, although it was much lighter than during the night, the continuous rain didn’t stop at all.

The rain washed over cars, making a "swoosh" sound.

The sky was dark, and even in the early morning it was like night, with not much light.

Around six or seven o’clock, Sylvan Cheney was woken up by the sound of his phone.

He was half-asleep and thought it was a call from someone at the company, so he didn’t answer and turned it off.

Unexpectedly, a minute later, the phone rang again.

Sylvan Cheney frowned with displeasure, didn’t open his eyes, and answered: "What’s the matter."

"Mr. Cheney, Mr. Cheney, I know it’s your phone number. Little Clementine suddenly has a fever, Miss Yale took her out to find a doctor, but the fever is very serious. Miss Yale wants to find a better children’s hospital for Little Clementine, but we don’t know any doctors... Mr. Cheney, could you please help... I called you privately, I know I shouldn’t disturb your life, but you and Miss Yale were at least involved before... Little Clementine is really Miss Yale’s only hope right now... Little Clementine’s fever is very serious..." Butler Santana was a bit incoherent.

Jasmine Yale was holding Little Clementine, running to the hospital, looking for a doctor, and she didn’t know why she thought of calling Sylvan Cheney.

But instinctively, her first reaction was to call Mr. Cheney.

While Jasmine Yale wasn’t paying attention, she still did.

However, on the other end, there was silence.

Butler Santana panicked: "Sorry, Mr. Cheney, I was presumptuous, I shouldn’t disturb you again, I’m sorry."

She immediately hung up the phone.

She might have been too panicked, somehow got confused, Sylvan Cheney is now a married man, at this time of the morning, his wife should still be by his side.

Calling Sylvan Cheney rashly would cause trouble for Jasmine Yale.

But she didn’t do it intentionally, she might have been accustomed to it, every time something like this happened, she always habitually sought out Sylvan Cheney.

How could she have been so confused?

When she just called Sylvan Cheney, his tone wasn’t very pleasant, maybe he wasn’t fully awake yet.

No matter how involved they were, they’re exes, no man wouldn’t be mindful.

Just as Butler Santana set down the phone, Jasmine Yale’s call came through, her voice full of urgency and choked with emotion: "Butler Santana, where are you... Little Clementine’s fever is so severe, can you help hold her, I’ll keep looking for a doctor."

Butler Santana walked out from the bathroom and hung up the phone.

"Miss Yale, I’m here."

Little Clementine lay motionless in Jasmine Yale’s arms, wrapped in a warm blanket.

The usually lively and adorable little child was now listless, eyes closed, cheeks flushed, lying silently in Jasmine Yale’s arms.

Jasmine Yale’s heart ached so much it could bleed.

Butler Santana hurried over, taking Little Clementine: "Miss Yale, let me hold her, we’ll go to a big hospital."

The nearby clinic only symbolically prescribed fever medicine for Little Clementine, but Jasmine Yale didn’t trust it at all.

Children’s fevers aren’t insignificant, but they’re not trivial either.

If not adequately treated, it can easily affect the brain.

"Hmm." Jasmine Yale held the umbrella, and together with Butler Santana, stood by the roadside with Little Clementine trying to hail a taxi.

Though it was already morning, the rain was still heavy, making it hard to catch a taxi.

Jasmine Yale was afraid Little Clementine would catch a cold, so she covered the little one with more clothes, worried her fever might get worse.

The soft little darling just lay there motionless.
