Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 2809: Biting Her Fingers

Xiao Lang put down his glass of water and asked in a low voice, "Didn’t you refuse? Why did you agree again?"

"I’m a doctor. Treating patients is my responsibility."

Xiao Lang’s lips tugged slightly. "Just because of that?"

"Otherwise what else do you think it is?"

Xiao Lang propped himself up. A servant stepped forward wanting to help him, but he refused.

He only held his cane and groped his way forward.

When he reached the dining room door, he tilted his head slightly. "Aren’t you coming?"

Li Mingxi reacted a beat late before realizing he was talking to her.

She got up and followed behind him, went to the living room with him, and sat down on the sofa.

"Why are you sitting so far away? Come here." Xiao Lang patted the spot next to him.

Mingxi thought, how does he know I’m sitting far away?

She shifted over a little. Xiao Lang wasn’t satisfied. "A bit closer."

"No need, this spot is just right for me."

Xiao Lang’s lips curled faintly. "It’s not like I’m going to eat you."

"Did you take your medicine today?" Mingxi immediately changed the subject.

A servant helped answer, "Young Master hasn’t taken his medicine."

"All of you, leave!" Xiao Lang frowned, displeased.

"Yes, sir."

A few servants quietly withdrew.

"Where’s the medicine? Take it first." Mingxi stood up.

Xiao Lang said lightly, "No rush. Taking it later is the same."

"You have to take your medicine on time if you want your eyes to recover sooner."

"Peel me an apple first."

"..."

Mingxi had planned to come over, supervise him taking his medicine, and then leave right away. She hadn’t expected he’d start ordering her around.

"Or I can peel one for you." Xiao Lang chuckled.

Mingxi glared at him, not that he could see it anyway.

She sat down again, picked up an apple, and started peeling it with a knife.

She was used to handling a scalpel, so using a fruit knife came just as naturally.

The peel she shaved off was thin and even, almost accurate to the millimeter.

Her fair, slender fingers turned the apple with practiced ease; the sight was very pleasing to the eye.

Xiao Lang lowered his eyes a little, his gaze as if fixed on her hands.

Mingxi quickly finished peeling the apple and handed it to him. "Here."

Xiao Lang lifted both hands. Mingxi leaned in proactively, and his hands immediately wrapped around hers.

Mingxi’s face flushed. "Hold the apple properly."

Xiao Lang only gripped her hand tightly, then lowered his head and took a bite of the apple from her hand.

"I told you to hold it."

"It tastes better this way."

He’s doing it on purpose!

Mingxi wanted to pull her hand back, but Xiao Lang was holding on too tightly.

"Don’t do this." she protested helplessly.

Xiao Lang ignored her, keeping his head lowered as he bit into the apple.

Sometimes he missed and bit directly onto her fingers.

She didn’t know if it was her imagination, but every time he bit her fingers, his lips would brush them in a soft kiss afterward.

Mingxi’s heart had been beating out of rhythm the whole time.

Her face was flushed, her eyes tinged with panic and helplessness.

It was an expression she had never shown in front of anyone else.

Only facing the sightless Xiao Lang now did she let all her defenses down.

"Have you had enough?" Mingxi struggled in shame and anger.

"I have to finish the apple before I feel like taking my medicine." Xiao Lang raised his head slightly.

Threatening her again.

Mingxi was so mad she wanted to kick him.

"What does you taking medicine have to do with me?!"

"Then what did you come here for today?"

Mingxi regretted it very much. She really shouldn’t have come.

"I regret it now. Let go. I should get going."

Xiao Lang pressed his lips together and slowly released her hand.

Mingxi had thought he wouldn’t let go, but she hadn’t really planned on leaving either—he still hadn’t taken his medicine.
