She went to the matchmaking agency and roughly mentioned some criteria, and the staff there immediately helped her find several gentlemen who met those criteria.

“These are all looking for a quick marriage, Miss Li. See which one you like, and we can contact them for you,” the staff said enthusiastically.

Li Mingxi glanced over them and found each one was unattractive—really an eyesore.

“Are there any others apart from these?”

The staff thought for a moment and filtered out some more.

“These also mentioned they could have a quick marriage, but they want to see the bride first.” The staff assumed that with someone like Li Mingxi, the other party would agree without needing to see her.

Li Mingxi seriously chose, picking one who was acceptable in various respects.

“Then I’ll…” She was about to point when suddenly a voice called out.

“Honey, you’re being naughty again!”

The voice carried a playful, resigned, yet doting tone and sounded very familiar.

Li Mingxi turned around in surprise: “Why are you here?!”

She exclaimed her first sentence in shock, immediately followed by: “Who is your ‘honey’?!”

Xiao Lang stepped forward, took her hand, and gently smiled: “Mom said you’re looking for someone to pretend to marry to annoy me, so I hurried here.”

“It was my mom who told you?!”

“Yes, it was our mom.”

Li Mingxi felt like she was going to explode; she had once again been sold out by her mom. She felt her blood pressure had been soaring all day.

Listening to their conversation, the staff did not seem happy.

“Ma’am, we are a legitimate matchmaking agency. Please do not make such jokes next time.”

“I…” Li Mingxi was already unable to explain.

She shook off Xiao Lang’s hand and strode outside.

Xiao Lang curled his lips into a smile and hurriedly followed.

Once outside on the street, Li Mingxi turned back angrily and stomped on Xiao Lang’s shoe to vent her anger.

“I’m warning you, don’t take it too far!”

Xiao Lang, as if oblivious to pain, continued to smile gently: “What did I do wrong? Our marriage is already arranged, haven’t I acted appropriately?”

Li Mingxi was so angry she laughed: “You can’t say I agreed to marry you. Even if we did get married, divorce is still an option!”

“Unfortunately, that sort of thing won’t happen to me.” Xiao Lang stated confidently.

If they were truly married, he would never allow her to divorce him.

Li Mingxi folded her arms and smiled stylishly: “Then let me tell you, this is a law-governed society. I’m not marrying you; are you going to use a gun to force me?!”

“Our moms have all agreed to our marriage…”

“I didn’t agree; whoever agreed to it can go marry you!” Li Mingxi snorted, turned, and walked away.

Xiao Lang smiled helplessly, then simply drove and followed unhurriedly.

He knew today he’d pushed Li Mingxi too far, so he couldn’t press her any harder, or she might push back even more.

She was angry, so he’d wait until her anger subsided before getting closer to her.

With Xiao Lang trailing behind, Li Mingxi didn’t know where to go.

Now, whoever she tried to marry, Xiao Lang would ruin it; she had no choice but to drive back home.

She got out of the car and told the servant flatly: “There’s a stalker outside; don’t let him in.”

The servant quickly checked and saw it was Mr. Xiao.

The servant understood with a smile; the lady must have had an argument with Mr. Xiao.
