Chapter 2959: Time for a Child

Xiao Lang smiled as he looked at her back, then got up and walked into the bedroom with her.

He opened the wardrobe and searched for his clothes, "Honey, do you think this outfit is good?"

He picked up a casual shirt and asked Li Mingxi.

Since they’re visiting home today, it’s naturally important to dress formally. Li Mingxi shook her head, "No, change it."

Xiao Lang picked up a short-sleeved shirt, "How about this one?"

"Change it."

"How about this one?" He simply picked a black shirt.

Li Mingxi gave him a look, "Usually you’re quite good at dressing up, what’s wrong today? All your choices are completely off!"

Xiao Lang smiled and said, "Then tell me, what should I wear?"

Li Mingxi walked over and chose a handmade white shirt, "Of course, wear this one!"

"My wife has good taste." Xiao Lang smiled brightly.

Li Mingxi slapped him, "You’re doing this on purpose! Really boring..."

Though she said that, she was still smiling.

Li Mingxi picked a tight-fitting dress in rose red, and it looked very vibrant and alluring on her.

Xiao Lang also dressed up quite handsomely.

After they were both ready, they headed out hand in hand.

Xiao Lang first drove Li Mingxi to the mall to buy many gifts, then they went to Li Mingxi’s parents’ place.

Early in the morning, Li’s mother and father were already waiting for them.

Although they always hoped for their daughter’s marriage, now that she’s married, Li’s mother and father were still somewhat reluctant.

Today, Li Mingxi was coming home, and they were eagerly looking forward to it.

The whole family was home, Li Mingchen was also home. When Li Mingxi and Xiao Lang arrived, Li’s father pulled Xiao Lang aside to discuss economics and policies.

Li Mingxi, on the other hand, was taken upstairs by Li’s mother to chat.

They went to Li Mingxi’s former bedroom, sat down, and Li’s mother asked her with a smile, "Are you happy now that you’re married?"

Li Mingxi laughed, "Mom, what’s with this question? I feel the same as before, life hasn’t changed much."

"Really not happy?"

"Alright, I’m happy."

Li’s mother was pleased and satisfied, "I always told you to get married early; see, marriage isn’t a bad thing."

Li Mingxi felt a headache coming, "Mom, please don’t nag about that. I’m already married."

"Okay, I won’t nag." Li’s mother then suddenly changed the topic, "But there’s something I must mention, you and Xiao Lang aren’t young anymore, you should have a child soon, have one next year."

Li Mingxi paused for a moment.

Seeing her reaction, Li’s mother knew she hadn’t planned on having a child yet.

She spoke seriously to her, "You absolutely must not use birth control, you must have a child! No way, I’ll take you to the hospital for a check-up another day; being in good health leads to better fertility."

Li Mingxi smiled, "Mom, I’ve just gotten married and you’re already talking about this; you’re a bit too hasty."

"Hasty? You’re already 35, if you don’t have a child now, when will you? Do you think you’re still young..."

Li’s mother started ranting again.

Li Mingxi felt a headache coming on, finally having resolved the issue of being urged to marry, now there was the issue of being urged to have a child.

She knew her mother’s nagging skill well, and she wouldn’t stop until Li Mingxi was pregnant.

Li Mingxi stayed upstairs while Li’s mother nagged her for a while, and then a servant came to call them for lunch, giving Li Mingxi a reprieve.

The whole family sat down for a meal, and afterward, worried that her mother would continue nagging, Li Mingxi quickly grabbed Xiao Lang and slipped away.

Li Mingxi’s family didn’t have many relatives, and the only ones they were really close to were the Ruan Family.
