Fated to My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 2977 Not Necessarily Able to Conceive
Li Mingxi hurriedly grabbed a tissue, helping her wipe the corners of her mouth, then gently picked her up and headed upstairs.
Xiao Lang had already turned off the TV and was quietly following behind them.
Li Mingxi carried Xuexue to her room, placed the little one on the bed, took off her shoes, and pulled over a light quilt to cover her.
Li Mingxi didn’t dare to leave, afraid that the little one would cry if she woke up and didn’t see anyone, or worried that she might wake up and something might happen without an adult present.
She whispered to Xiao Lang, "You go rest in the guest room, I’ll stay here with her."
Saying this, she too took off her shoes and got into bed.
Xiao Lang sat down beside her and got into bed too, "I’ll sleep with you both."
"Together?"
"Yes." Xiao Lang lay down, wrapping Li Mingxi in his arms.
He looked at her, and with a low laugh asked, "Isn’t Xuexue adorable?"
Li Mingxi nodded, "I’ve never seen such a quirky little creature."
Xiao Lang leaned closer to her, his dark eyes gazing into hers, "Let’s have a daughter too."
Li Mingxi playfully asked, "Not a son?"
"A son would be fine too, but I find daughters cuter, having a daughter like Xuexue would be great."
Li Mingxi could sense Xiao Lang’s strong desire for a child.
In fact, after being around Xuexue, she also wanted a child.
The children she had come into contact with were all as pure and lovely as angels; if she had her own child, she believed she would love them very much.
But she feared that once the child was born, she might be separated from them...
Yet not having a child wasn’t an option.
Unless Xiao Lang divorced her and married another woman.
Otherwise, she couldn’t let Xiao Lang be without a child.
Li Mingxi held Xiao Lang’s hand, softly asking, "What if we can’t have a child?"
Xiao Lang was momentarily stunned, "You mean, we can’t have children?"
"Yes, some people, despite being healthy, may not be able to conceive."
Xiao Lang was puzzled, "Why can’t they conceive?"
Li Mingxi recalled a case she had treated before.
"There used to be a couple who came to me for consultation; they had been married for several years without children, thinking it was a problem with their health.
But after I checked them, I found they were healthy and capable of conceiving, yet they just couldn’t have children.
Later, due to family pressure, they divorced.
After the divorce, they each remarried, and within a year, both had children..."
"Such a thing happened?!"
Li Mingxi nodded, "Yes. This can’t be explained scientifically; it just shows they weren’t meant to have children together. That’s why people often say children are gifts from heaven; when you conceive is all about fate."
Xiao Lang hugged Li Mingxi tightly, "Are you worried we won’t have the fate to have children?"
"No, I’m just afraid of the possibility."
Xiao Lang laughed, "There’s no ’what-if.’ My connection with you isn’t something ordinary people can compare with. Since we can be married, we’ll certainly have children, trust me."
Li Mingxi smiled and nodded, "Hmm."
"Let’s get some sleep; otherwise, we won’t have the energy to play with the little one this afternoon."
Li Mingxi yawned, leaned into his arms, and closed her eyes.
Xiao Lang gazed at her face, with a gentle expression in his eyes. He said in his heart, even if they didn’t have children, it didn’t matter, as long as she was by his side.
...
After sleeping for over an hour, Xuexue was the first to wake up among the three on the bed.
The little one sat up, her eyes darting around as she stared at them for a while.
