“Zhen Lu, you don’t think they’ll raid our

A camp glowed brightly across the frozen tundra. A bonfire blazed, driving back the shadows that kept pressing in from the night.

Zhen Lu looked utterly bewildered when she heard Cao Yaxuan’s question. “What do you mean, raid our home?”

“I mean, while we’re all away...” Cao Yaxuan sat beside the bonfire, explaining before adding ominously, “Those women on the thirtieth floor will definitely be unable to resist doing something to Xu Lang!”

Zhen Lu rolled her eyes and said irritably, “It’d be a blessing if Xu Lang doesn’t do anything to them!”

Cao Yaxuan froze, then finally caught on.

That did seem pretty likely!

Oh no. Could Xu Lang be throwing an orgy back at the home base?

They were working hard on the front lines while Xu Lang worked hard back at home!

Wouldn’t that make them actual Pals?

Cao Yaxuan’s face fell, and all her enthusiasm for exploring evaporated.

The women around them had been listening with their ears perked up. Hearing that, they suddenly regretted coming along.

They shouldn’t have come out this time!

Of them all, Wang Tingting regretted it the most. After all, she’d been working hard to get a room in Demon King Castle.

“What are you talking about?”

Wu Huihui emerged from the tent. Seeing that nobody was speaking, she couldn’t help feeling puzzled.

Everyone present was a woman, and they were chatting even more freely than men. One of the more tomboyish women immediately explained what had happened.

After hearing the reason, Wu Huihui felt little of anything.

She had long since stopped harboring improper thoughts about Xu Lang. After becoming a Nightmare Apostle, the distance and fear she inspired in those around her had made her face many realities.

“Ugh, this Day and Night Ghost March world is cold, and on top of that, sixteen hours of every day are spent in darkness.” Nie Xiaozhu sighed.

There were plenty of supplies in the Day and Night Ghost March world, but it had one major problem: the window for farming monsters was very short.

The monsters that appeared at night generally weren’t worth anything, and daytime was incredibly brief. They had only been enjoying themselves for a little while when night fell again.

On top of that, the night put their reserves of cold-weather supplies to a serious test.

“This is so boring...” Cao Yaxuan glanced at the black sky. Ultimate Mana in her hand changed properties, turning into an ice spear one moment and a snowflake the next. She looked thoroughly restless.

The monsters in the Day and Night Ghost March world weren’t very strong. The main danger came from the environment.

But with her Ultimate Blood Contract, she had nothing to fear. If anything, it made her stronger.

Everyone else on the team was listless. Cao Yaxuan was the only one full of energy.

“I’m going out to take a look. I refuse to believe there’s nothing good out there at night!” Cao Yaxuan suddenly stood up. “If I’m lucky, I’ll bring back a few Vampire Blood Contracts for you.”

“Don’t do anything reckless!” Zhen Lu didn’t want Cao Yaxuan to go.

“Don’t worry, I have a map!” Cao Yaxuan took out a map, full of confidence.

It had dropped from the Frost Ghost King back then.

It showed the locations of many mineral deposits.

The place they were heading to was one such deposit. Judging by their estimates, it was very likely to contain the raw materials they needed.

“But it’s Eternal Night right now...” Zhen Lu hesitated.

All the women in Demon King Castle were looking forward to Vampire Blood Contracts, and Xu Lang often brought them up, too. If Cao Yaxuan could bring back a few, it really would be something to brag about.

“I have a way to deal with the Eternal Night environment.” Just then, Wu Huihui stepped forward. Nightmare energy, even more profound than the Eternal Night, surged around her. “I’ll go with Yaxuan.”

The two leaders of the exploration team had made their decision, so the others had no objections.

And so, Wu Huihui and Cao Yaxuan headed into the night, leaving Zhen Lu, Nie Xiaozhu, Wang Tingting, and the other women to guard the camp.

“I wonder what Little Meng and the others are doing,” Zhen Lu muttered. She suddenly found herself missing the big family back in Demon King Castle.

...

At that very moment.

In the Zombie Attack world.

Thick, filthy clouds drifted across the sky. It was impossible to tell whether they were radioactive clouds from a nuclear explosion or something else.

Zombies stretched as far as the eye could see, covering the entire city like a black tide.

They were all heading toward one place with clear intent.

Wang Yazhi, Xu Xiaomeng, Han Zhixiu, Luo Lin, Kui Zi, and a group of Neighborhood Committee members were working on their missions.

The Zombie Attack world had repeatable missions. Kill enough zombies, and you could obtain raw materials. Every player who entered the Zombie Attack world took one on, at least as a formality.

Most of the others had already completed their missions.

Only Cao Yaxuan and Kui Zi had yet to finish theirs.

That was because the two women had accepted the most difficult repeatable mission: kill one million zombies!

“I’ve completed my mission.”

Kui Zi floated high in the air, then drifted backward and landed outside the skyscraper. Hundreds of drones were still outside, helping Wang Yazhi hold back the zombie horde.

Never underestimate the killing efficiency of mechanical civilization.

Although the Machinist Sequence was several tiers below the Rakshasa Sequence, Kui Zi’s rate of mowing down zombies was even faster than Wang Yazhi’s.

Wang Yazhi had taken on nearly half the zombies by herself. The drones and the high-caliber cannons they’d set up handled the other half. The rest of the group stayed inside the skyscraper, no longer surprised by any of it.

At first, they had been amazed by the two women’s combat strength. After seeing it over and over, they had grown numb. It was like they were still learning the Five-Tiger Severing Gate Saber while everyone else had already started cultivating immortality.

“Get ready to evacuate!”

Just then, Wang Yazhi’s clear voice rang out in every direction, like the melodious toll of a chime. Everyone’s spirits lifted, and their vision seemed to brighten.

Even the frenzied zombies seemed to pause for a moment.

The others quickly followed her instructions.

At the same time, twelve Night Vision Deity clones suddenly split off from Wang Yazhi and charged in twelve different directions.

Each Night Vision Deity was like a reaper, swiftly clearing everything within a kilometer. They were like disposable-pawn players decked out in maxed-out gear.

“So you were holding back!”

Kui Zi’s mouth twitched. She waved, and the turrets flying through the sky immediately dissolved into streams of data and flowed back into her body.

The other players also packed away the high-caliber cannons.

“Roar!!!”

A flying dragon came streaking through the sky. Its body was covered in zombie arms and mouthparts, making it look like a gigantic biological battleship.

Its roar was so loud that even the roof of a skyscraper shook!

With a crash, the flying dragon landed on top of the building, then sprang into the air and flew straight toward Wang Yazhi and the others.

The skyscraper where it had landed actually collapsed downward!

It might have looked unscientific, but it was perfectly scientific.

Any organism that evolved beyond the ordinary, non-mystical realm would develop an ability akin to a “biological force field.” This flying dragon had just such an ability.

“Not good! It’s a Demigod-level mutated creature. What’s it doing in this part of the city?!” One player turned deathly pale, frightened by the flying dragon’s aura.

Demigod-level mutated creatures were the strongest known combat units in the Zombie Attack world. There were only a few in each city.

“Fantastic! A Demigod-level mutated creature!” Han Zhixiu shouted to everyone around her, her spirits soaring. “Set up the high-caliber cannons again! Prepare to engage!”

Wang Yazhi, Kui Zi, and Xu Xiaomeng all spotted the flying dragon at the same time, and none of them showed any intention of fleeing!

The Neighborhood Committee members quickly reformed their battle line, moving as one.

“So it really is that one...” Luo Lin stared at the flying dragon, fear filling her eyes.

“Aunt Luo, have you seen it before?” Xu Xiaomeng glanced over and fixed her gaze on Luo Lin’s face as she asked.
