Chapter 1012: Chapter 499: Unresolved Past Matters (Part 2)
The four temporarily slowed their pace, just to finish watching Elaphia’s battle first.
"Hehe, Elaphia, to see through my opening move of the entrapment attack, you’re quite formidable..."
The black-haired Douding called Faneya chuckled deeply, her facial features suddenly compressed together, and her bloodthirsty and combative expression instantly filled her face.
"But on this battlefield, fighting with real swords and guns is the real trick, hahaha!"
The young girl wielding a giant axe charged forward with a wild laugh at an incredible speed, her short body leaping swiftly, almost exerting the ultimate speed a warrior can achieve by themselves.
The earthy brown light trace from the axe blade appeared for just a moment, and the giant blade was already close to Elaphia’s face.
As the giant blade struck down, the magic power it stirred caused the ground around to rise again, surrounding the blond young girl like a volcanic crater, confining her within it.
She had only one choice: to take the attack head-on.
The giant sword, despite its size, seemed small compared to the opponent’s double-bladed axe.
For a mage of Aifei’s level, wielding a giant sword was effortless, but her giant sword was shorter in length compared to her peers who were proficient in close combat, which showed her disadvantage when fighting with handheld weapons.
The strength of a Blade Master lies in using magic power and spells to strike with martial skills, which can transform at will, performing dazzling multiple hits on a single target or executing large-scale annihilation.
Seeing her forced to use a weapon to take on an attack gives a deeper understanding of her unfair situation.
As the twin blades clashed, the magic power erupted from the two young girls of the Weapon Race formed a silver wind like sharp blades, instantly shattering the surrounding rock layers, and the ensuing metallic Qi Blades carved patterns like blooming lotus flowers on the arena’s sandy ground.
The soaring debris and dust obscured their movements, and after the intense sound of metal clashing, in the gradually settling dust, the two figures remained immovable.
In the spectator stand, everyone initially held their breath, poised for the anticipated intense clash, but now they started emitting sounds of disbelief.
Faneya was the first to move, swiftly stepping back several paces, creating a safe distance, before stabilizing herself with the giant axe resting on one hand.
Her left hand, not holding the axe, was bleeding profusely within a few breaths, clearly deeply cut and wounded.
Elaphia swung the giant sword with one hand, flicking the blood off its blade to the ground, where it gathered into glistening red flattened spheres, resembling flowing liquid metal.
"She won?" Diao was somewhat astonished, considering Elaphia was clearly at a disadvantage earlier.
The audience erupted with incredulous exclamations, as for others from the Weapon Race, it’s difficult to comprehend how Elaphia could injure her opponent.
"Couldn’t even beat Faneya? She’s not even a warrior."
"Taladin’s daughter..."
"Is being a mage just a cover?"
Faneya raised the giant axe with one hand and slammed it down heavily: "Shut up! I’m just injured, I haven’t lost yet!"
She looked at the blond young girl with disbelief: "You’re obviously so weak like a foreign weakling, how could you hurt me?!"
Elaphia replied with an indifferent expression, coldly: "I lack warrior talent, not martial skill talent."
"Are you saying that as a Blade Knight, my martial skill is inferior to you, a flashy Blade Master?" Faneya’s face showed rage, the anger rising with each pulse of her bleeding.
The blond Douding gripped the giant sword with both hands, once again assuming a ready stance: "Do it again, it will be the same."
"I won’t be hit a second time!"
Amidst the surprised murmurs of Diao and Lily, the black-haired Douding charged again, the weight of the giant weapon as light as a piece of paper to her, missing one hand only hindered the magic blending into the slashes, but pure brute force remained unaffected.
Amidst the chaotic heavy slashes of the chain strikes, Elaphia’s giant sword continuously offloaded the force, her feet retreating incessantly, her brows gradually furrowing.
"Hit her again, get the other hand too," Lily urged anxiously.
Falo shook his head and sighed: "Those old guys, really are up to no good."
"What do you mean?" Li Ang and the others looked at Farlonio.
"On Sword Platform Island, the arena sand can’t possibly be regular sand. They are fragments of rare metals, for anyone not of the Weapon Race, stepping on them means bleeding from every footstep."
With Douding’s words, the three saw that both Elaphia and Faneya were barefoot, which must be a requirement of the Martial Extreme Trial because they were wearing only clothes convenient for movement, not armor.
"Compared to warriors in the Blade Master class, is Elaphia’s physique somewhat weaker?" Li Ang asked.
"Mr. Li Ang is correct; normally, Aifei can run on it like she’s flying, but now she’s battling with a strong opponent of the same race, enduring strikes, and her footing is becoming increasingly unstable."
Falo replied, disgruntled: "The sand’s quality is well over two levels higher than usual, and even the leftover scraps aren’t cheap, they really spared no expense."
As an artisan, Li Ang understands the toughness of high-tier metal material, and their shavings underfoot are akin to thousands of sharp blades, like walking on a mountain of knives.
Old guys huh? Li Ang noticed in the center of the audience stand there are some Haven Race people in luxurious robes, with attendants around them, exuding an aura of high status.
They must be chiefs or elders, leaders of various families, certainly possessing influence within the entire Weapon Race.
