First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 3061 - The Master of the Four Seas

  • Next Chapter

The Profound Phoenixes were the greatest faction of the Southern Sea.

Their leader, Feng Jiuxiao, was currently entertaining two River Ancestors. The first was River Ancestor Jin Ze, the backer of the greatest faction of the Eastern Sea, Tianlong Mountain. The second was River Ancestor Rou Ling, the backer of the Nine-Headed Serpents, the rulers of the Northern Sea.

River Ancestor Jin Ze’s hair and beard were like fire, and he had a fierce, martial bearing, while River Ancestor Rou Ling was a woman with long, flowing, blue-green hair and snowy skin.

“It’s a pity. If I'd known that Su Yi and Crimson Kite Daoist Court were working together, I’d have accompanied Daoist Brother Luo Yu to Goldstone Island,” River Ancestor Jin Ze said with a sigh.

“What, you’re still out to kill Su Yi and seize his good fortune?” River Ancestor Rou Ling chuckled. “Forgive my rudeness, but even if you went, you wouldn’t benefit in any way.”

River Ancestor Jin Ze frowned. “You think that Luo Yu, Hu Chan, and I wouldn’t be enough to take Su Yi down?”

River Ancestor Rou Ling said, Su Yi is backed by Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi. The three of you might be able to defeat her, but... you can forget about killing her.”

River Ancestor Jin Ze couldn’t argue with that; those were the facts. Even if they held the geographical advantage here, killing a Heavenly Sovereign was extraordinarily difficult.

“Seniors, in my eyes, acquiring a copy of that secret map is enough,” said Feng Jiuxiao with a laugh, his heart full of ambition and eagerness.

The top factions of the Four Seas had joined forces, and they had four River Ancestors to oversee things. With a lineup like that, they could act as they pleased anywhere in the Southern Sea!

So long as they acquired that map, they could head straight to the Sea of Fate and vie for the lost Eternal Throne.

When the time came, no one could stand in their way, no matter who they were. Heavenly Sovereigns were no exception!

As they conversed, Elder Feng Ruhuo, Sage King Qing Jue, Ying Tian, and the Blackmoon Dragon King returned in a hurry.

“Did you acquire the map?” Feng Jiuxiao rose and welcomed them with a smile, only to realize that something was amiss. Each of the returnees had a more dejected and unsightly look than the one before!

“Where are Seniors Luo Yu and Hu Chan?” asked Feng Jiuxiao.

“Leader, something went horribly wrong,” said Feng Ruhuo, lowering his head. “The two seniors have already... met with disaster!”

What?! River Ancestors Jin Ze and Rou Ling were leisurely sipping tea when they heard this. Both looked stricken. Something bad happened to Luo Yu and Hu Chan?

Feng Jiuxiao’s heart shook. He felt as if he’d been struck by lightning.

The atmosphere was instantly incomparably silent.

Feng Ruhuo took a deep breath, suppressed his dejection, and laid the whole situation out in the open. The hall was silent save for his low, somber voice.

When they learned that Su Yi was Destiny’s Chosen, the two River Ancestors practically flung their cups away. They could no longer remain seated. Both had shock and astonishment written all over their faces.

Beads of sweat formed on Feng Jiuxiao’s face, his expression dark and his heart in a daze. An Immeasurable Realm cultivator actually defeated two River Ancestors by himself?𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

When he reached the end of his tale, Feng Jiuxiao said bitterly, “Leader, Su Yi gave us three days to think things over. Either we submit, or... he’ll attack...”

Feng Jiuxiao completely lost his cool. He roared, “Don’t tell me Su Yi really plans to kill us all? Does he really think the entire Southern Sea is his to command? Ridiculous!”

His hysterical roars echoed through the air, but they only made him seem frantic and unsettled.

Suddenly, River Ancestor Jin Ze rose. “I have no intention of wading into such turbid waters. I’m leaving!”

With that, he shot through the air and vanished in a flash.

Everyone was flabbergasted. He’s a River Ancestor. How could he have scampered off in such a hurry?

Everyone instinctively glanced at River Ancestor Rou Ling, who let out a soft sigh. “You aren’t cultivators of the River of Destiny, so you don’t understand the weight of the title ‘Destiny’s Chosen.’ Still, River Ancestors Luo Yu and Hu Chan are vivid examples of what happens to those who oppose him. As for River Ancestor Jin Ze...”

River Ancestor Rou Ling’s gaze was complicated. “Had he chosen to fight personally, he’d have inevitably met with the same fate.”

Everyone in the hall felt chills in their hands and feet. Only now did they grasp how terrifying Destiny’s Chosen was.

“Heed my warning. Whether you like it or not, you’re best off admitting defeat; the sooner, the better,” said River Ancestor Rou Ling, rising to her feet. “I won’t participate in these muddied waters any further either. You’d... best be careful!”

With that, River Ancestor Rou Ling blurred into a beam of light and shot off.

“How is this possible...” Feng Jiuxiao plopped into his chair with a thud, his eyes hollow and disconsolate. All of his ambitions and anticipation had vanished, leaving only bewilderment, unease, and agitation.

The others felt much the same way. The atmosphere in the hall was instantly as oppressive as could be.

An unknown amount of time passed before Feng Jiuxiao came back to his senses, then slowly rose and staggered out of the hall like a walking corpse. “I have to report this to the progenitor.”

That very day, Sage King Qing Jue, Ying Tian, and the Blackmoon Dragon King made contact with their factions of origin and reported everything that had happened outside Crimson Kite Daoist Court.

It was also that very day that all four leading factions of the Four Seas reached a decision—they were going to submit!

It seemed like a simple choice, but it was anything but.

All of this was because Su Yi had defeated two River Ancestors and intimidated two others, stripping all four leading factions of their backers at once.

Without their backers, they had no means of clashing with Heavenly Sovereign factions. Who wouldn’t have panicked under the circumstances?

In contrast, submitting to Su Yi might even be to their advantage, as it was tantamount to finding a new backer, and an extraordinarily terrifying one at that. Su Yi could clash with Heavenly Sovereigns, and he was in turn backed by both Heavenly Sovereign Qingyi and Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan!

Moreover, River Ancestors were no match for him!

If they managed to cling to this new backer, they’d have profited from this disaster!

Of course, the four leading factions had other reasons to submit. For instance, none of them had suffered any real casualties during the battle outside Crimson Kite Daoist Court, and there was no deep grudge between them. That made surrendering far easier to accept.

It was also that very day that word of the four leading factions’ joint surrender spread throughout the Southern Sea’s cultivation world.

The Southern Sea’s cultivation world boiled over. Countless people were in uproar.

It was just two days prior that word had spread that Su Yi was colluding with Crimson Kite Daoist Court. Countless eyes were watching Crimson Kite Daoist Court.

Yet now, the leading factions of the Four Seas had all submitted to Su Yi. Who could have anticipated this?

“What’s going on? Aren’t the four factions each backed by a River Ancestor? How could they just... submit to Su Yi?”

Countless people were flabbergasted. They couldn’t even begin to understand.

“Doesn’t that mean that no one in the Southern Sea will dare to target Su Yi going forward?”

“Impressive! Su Yi only just stirred up the entire Eternal Heavens Domain. Now, he’s caused yet another massive disturbance here in the Southern Sea. How ferocious!”

“Don’t you think that Su Yi is already worthy of the title ‘Master of the Four Seas’?”

As word spread, more and more people started calling him that. The title was unquestionably an enormous honor.

After all, everyone knew that any one of the four leading factions had the foundations necessary to clash with Heavenly Sovereign factions.

Now, Su Yi ruled over all four of them. His power and prestige were indeed as radiant as the midday sun!

But at the same time, it didn’t make sense. Deep within their hearts, everyone was wondering the same thing. “Why? How could an Immeasurable Realm cultivator possibly be worthy of presiding over all four leading factions?”

Only the core leadership understood how Su Yi had convinced them to submit, or why they were so willing to cling to this new backer!

......

“Destiny’s Chosen is really so powerful?” Heavenly Sovereign E was among the first to hear the news.

He, too, was astonished. However, unlike the masses, he’d already known that Su Yi possessed the Book of Destiny, and that he had defeated several River Ancestors already.

Still, he hadn’t anticipated that Su Yi would suppress two River Ancestors so easily here in the Southern Sea.

Of course, Heavenly Sovereign E knew that this had little to do with Su Yi’s personal strength. The true crux of the matter was the Book of Destiny!

His only consolation was that Heavenly Sovereigns weren’t affected by the Book of Destiny. If they were, perhaps no one in this world would be any match for Su Yi!

“The leading factions of the four seas have surrendered, but even together, they aren’t much of a threat. I just wonder if the four River Ancestors have submitted or not...” Heavenly Sovereign E furrowed his brow.

On the Southern Sea, River Ancestors were strong enough to clash with Heavenly Sovereigns. If all four River Ancestors had submitted to Su Yi, it would mean enormous trouble!

That would imply that, factoring in Ku Xuan and Hua Qingyi, Su Yi had six experts capable of fighting Heavenly Sovereigns by his side.

Heavenly Sovereign E knew that in the face of six such experts, he’d have no chance of victory whatsoever. His only hope would be to flee for his life!

“That kid just keeps getting more and more threatening.” For the first time, Heavenly Sovereign E realized just how difficult it would be to defeat Su Yi.

Luo Yun’an had spread word that Su Yi was working with Crimson Kite Daoist Court on Heavenly Sovereign E’s orders. His goal was to expose Su Yi’s identity and endanger Crimson Kite Daoist Court.

He would never have guessed that Su Yi would use this as an opportunity to become the Master of the Four Seas!

“But I refuse to believe he’ll just disregard Heavenly Sovereign Ku Xuan’s life and death!” Heavenly Sovereign E’s eyes flashed.

The greatest card still at his disposal was his knowledge of Ku Xuan’s whereabouts. He was certain that Su Yi would come for a chat!

Suddenly, he flipped his palm and received a message. It read, “Fellow Daoist Yan, the changes in the Southern Sea are nearing their end. I want to see the Cauldron of Fate in ten days’ time at the very latest!”

Heavenly Sovereign E’s pupils constricted. Ten days? It seems I’d best hurry!
