Chapter 127: The threats from a bird and a lizard

(A few days ago.)

A Stanox airship encountered a Cloud of Hate and thanks to the quick actions of an unknown passenger, they were able to make it out of it alive.

In the process, they lost all but one of their Heteromorphic Steeoxolocus in the process, but while the last one was saved by the same individual that saved the life of the people on the airship, the creature was too distressed and according to the later reports dragged the savior to some faraway location.

No trace of the last seahorse is found in the end, but some environmental investigation conducted later suggests that the savior might have lived.

Sadly, the area that they fell into was too chaotic and not something the available resources at the ship can handle, forcing them to get back to Stanox first.

However, while on the way and throughout the journey, the people on the ship experienced more dread than they had ever experienced throughout their lives.

"Both of them were angry."

It was later revealed that the one who saved the people was a member of the Sungrade family who had left his Salamander behind.

And this legendary beast did not like the fact that it was being restricted when it simply wanted to go out there on its own to look for her master.

The white bird, in addition, tried to flee multiple times, however, the two people that were accompanying the boy from the Sungrade had to do everything to stop the beast.

They knew it was not safe out there by themselves and that it was best to first return to Stanox and get the right help for the rescue.

But, the two powerful creatures did not like that.

And their consistent release of their emotions were causing distress to the survivors.

At the end, the people in charge had to ask the two creatures to be separated from the masses even though the remaining area on the ship was not as big as it was before.

They managed to reach their destination, but there were protocols to follow and even with the Headmaster’s will, it would take a while to release official academy personnel out into the ocean.

"The headmaster had already confirmed your wellness status and that you were fine. But that alone was not enough for these two."

Nyx went ahead and hacked into the ironclad academy interface that had been unbreachable for as long as any of them could remember.

The creature, with the power to use any of the academy’s resources and powers, only chose to speed up the process through which the rescue team was sent out.

The headmaster found it absurd that a single creature was able to crack a system that had been in place for longer than she had been in her position.

But then again, it just proved her hypothesis that Nyx was no normal phoenix.

"So he caused more trouble for them than I expected."

"The entire academy was flipped upside down when there were chirping sounds demanding a quicker process."

"I’d say those people will study that day as a monumental event of the academy’s history."

Especially so since the system hacking wasn’t the only thing that happened on that day.

"She was a big headache as well."

Art, being the Blue Starfire, overwhelmed every fire-attribute creature present all across Stanox and forced them under her command, creating an entire force that went against the commands of even their tamers.

Essentially, there were thousands of fire attribute creatures including other legendary Fable-grade (SSS-rank) beasts who threatened the stability of the entire academy.

"All of it happened in a single day."

One threatened the inside while the other became a dread to the outside.

And this is an academy that has thousands of legendary beasts and hundreds of tamers who command them inside of it.

If merely two creatures could overwhelm an academy of that level, even for a short time, then where does the deep integrity that the academy has built over a lifetime even stand?

"The people at the academy did not like it one bit."

The academy later tried everything they could to contain the information, going as far as making the people directly involved in major things swear an oath of origin.

They knew they needed to meet the demands of those dangerous creatures as well, so, while they would make the creatures’ powers restricted later, finding their master was more important.

"And so, this search team was assembled."

Two wyverns, one of the closest descendants of the dragons, five creatures that rival the great blues of the Serulians, one High-ranking water spirit handler, and a total of fifteen experts were sent alongside them to search for him.

Following their traces was not easy since they mostly moved with Felix’s mystique arts, but they were able to find the route they had taken by backtracking the [Memories of water].

When they finally found him, the two creatures did not wait for the rest of them and went off on their own.

Nyx poked his head since he didn’t know whether he was sleeping or just passed out.

Art also ran a check on him using her blue flames so, while all that was happening, none of the rescue personnel could get near him because of the destructive flames.

They had already seen those flames destroy boulders bigger than houses on the academy mountain, and they would not like to see all that once again.

"So you two did cause a lot of trouble for the rest of them, huh?"

Sam had expected them to act all restless and stuff, but hacking into the academy’s internal system? Terrorizing the people of the academy with an army of elemental beasts?

The two of them were too emotional... especially that little white bird.

"How the hell did you hack into their system dude?"

"Chirp?"

"Don’t give me that bullshit. I tried it for twenty years and failed."

"Chirp~. Chirp chirp chirp."

The little bird was now laughing at his own master, calling him dumb and incompetent.

"That little..."

Art had made his head her home once again.

And after stealing the sleep of hundreds of people at the academy, she was finally sleeping soundly on her favorite bed.

Felix had worked hard and her evolution had already surprised the others enough so now, she was resting in her essence card, away from the commotion.

"We will reach the destination soon."

They were traveling back to the academy on the back of a wyvern, a creature that was at least ten times faster than the academy airship.

They had long entered the edge of the continent and in a few moments, after a long wait, Sam would finally see the mountains that had become his true home in the past.

A bunch of things did happen and they surely were late by a few days but, thanks to the commotion a few days ago, as it has happened less than thirty times in the current headmaster’s term, the entrance exam had been postponed by a few days.

’They needed more time to stabilize the internal systems so it couldn’t be helped this time.’

But thanks to that, we will have a day to sort out any kind of misunderstandings that may still be present between the people in the academy.

’I know for a fact that our dear whimsical headmaster did not interfere in any of this by choice.’

She must have found the chaos and upheaval everyone else was going through too fun to mess with.

Knowing her, she would have already found me with her mystique powers but, instead of helping me or something, she would have just watched everything unfold like a divine observer.

’I know her well. And this would not be the first time she would have done that.’

She would save me if I really was about to die, but she knew how to push someone to their limits.

’That was exactly how she had made heroes out of seemingly useless children.’

But that was her unique charm.

And that charm was sadly also the reason that got her killed in an utterly unsightly manner in their past life.
