First Legendary Tamer: Starting with 100x Growth Rate
Chapter 133: I wanna see him grow
“Have you heard about the incident?”
“Yes, that one. That’s him.”
“He’s the youngest son of Sungrades.”
“But wasn’t he supposed to have EDS? How did he overcome that?”
True answer? No one really knows, not even Sam himself.
He just woke up one day and he had a creature fused to his being.
It wasn’t natural and it wasn’t supposed to be possible in the first place, but things turned out like this.
He was a regressor that had lived a lifetime already and he was given a second chance at it for some reason.
Maybe it was divine will or maybe it was just a coincidence. Whatever the case, there was something that made this possible.
‘There have been cases like him.’
She had heard stories.
Stories of people who started civilizations and led the world to new directions.
Some say Stanox itself was founded by one of the individuals like that.
There were also cryptic records of people who had come from a different world altogether, one that was far different from their own.
The knowledge that they brought shaped different eras.
Magic was an intuitive field until someone established the contemporary foundation for it.
Even magic engineering that was seen as a pseudo science not long ago was now a mainstream field of item production.
Times were changing constantly. And the people who live more than their own age are the catalyst that accelerates this process.
‘And maybe that’s what he will do as well.’
She had served his mother for a long time not just because she saved her, but also because of who she was.
There was no one as kind and selfless as her.
She had seen her, a lady of a noble house, take off her own clothes to cover a young mother who was being molested by a bunch of thugs.
She had all the reason to punish them, but she showed kindness even to them and spared their lives.
‘It’s also true that the patriarch didn’t listen to her and still punished them but that was his choice.’
She did what she wanted and she did everything for the sake of people: not just her people, but everyone that needed help.
In the short time she lived in Sungrade territory, she brought happiness to more people than the current patriarch had done in his entire lifetime as the head of the household.
And she did that not just with the resources that she could use as the rightful lady of that noble house, but also as a simple human being.
‘People used to praise her pretty blue hair.’
But then things changed when the plague broke out in that village.
‘She did what she obviously would have.’
And in the end, the patriarch did what he had to… what she wanted.
‘He has suffered in his past life, and he has been suffering this time as well.’
As she passed through the gate of the academy for the test, she clenched her fist with anger surging through her body.
‘What good am I if he has to take on all the dangers himself?’
When he made them go away in the airship, he promised he would come back.
That promise alone had held her together all this time.
She knew something as small as that wouldn’t take him away from her, but each moment spent thinking about him brought her a certain restlessness.
‘I know he hid a lot of things from me when he was telling them about his adventures at the sea.’
There was a strange mark on his hand, Felix had evolved, and the island that they found them on was also weird.
She could tell he was trying his best to fool the people from the academy but he could not fool her even if he wanted to.
She knew him well. She knew him better than anyone else in fact.
‘First his visit to the Sun sanctuary and now this…’
Every time he was away from her, even for a few days, he would return with something strangely different about him.
Change was a law of nature but it’s never as spontaneous as it is with this one.
‘Even this time…’
He had already told her about how he was a Professor in the academy in his past life without having the ability to tame any beasts.
‘It should have been impossible.’
While she did not know the details of the incident, she knew for certain that becoming a (Professor) should have been impossible for someone like him.
But not only did he do that, he also founded a completely different school of taming.
‘I’m still learning about it but it’s not going to be easy.’
If Sam’s great grandmother was a materialist and his father an affinist, then she was a Naturalist and a follower of the school of nature.
Her taming was the worst match up for the school of synchronicity.
One talked about all the environmental factors while the other talked about all of the connective factors between the person and beast.
It wasn’t easy for her but she was learning. And now that they were in Stanox, she wanted to learn a little more.
‘And for that, I’ll have to stop at the first test.’
She wasn’t here to climb the academic ladder. Even if she had the potential, she wanted to be by her master’s side.
And she can only do that if she has the qualifications but not a noted superior skill set.
She has her priorities set: Sam first, the rest of the world later.
She wanted to see him rise. She wanted to see him grow more and more.
Just like how she had been by his side all this time, she wanted to be there even when she was about to start a different phase of her life.
She was a maid. And even if she were to be a student of this academy, she would remain what she was: his servant.
[Welcome to Stanox.]
She has reached her test zone, a black space where she would be scanned by the system.
[Please, reveal your heart to us.]
The way the mechanical voice spoke was strange but she didn’t think much of it.
Much like the rest of the people who had never given this test, she wasn’t supposed to know how it would sound to begin with.
But, the person she had been thinking so warmly about all this time was not the same as the rest of the people…
