First Legendary Tamer: Starting with 100x Growth Rate
Chapter 140 Stats are up, guys.
The physical stats were the only thing that halted the creatures and made them question how comparatively weaker they were.
But thinking from a different perspective altogether, they were only weaker in one certain aspect of their physical bodies that they might not even use for that long.
Both Nyx and Art were mostly spiritual beings possessing spiritual powers and abilities.
Measuring their physical abilities was the same as measuring the sweetness of raw coffee beans against processed sugar.
They were individuals more proficient in different things so, when the team moved from the jelly wall and came to a crystal that measured one's raw mana affinity, a device that had been a standard measurement for magical powers in the academy, the system had to declare both Art and Nyx unfit for the test.
"Haha, you two already broke two of them. They aren't easy to make, you see."
Both Art and Nyx could interfere directly with the environmental Mana without channeling any of their own energy.
It was a distinct trait of the kind of creatures who were, by nature, above the limited laws of Mana.
They were able to command far superior energies than Mana, and they understood the nature, properties, abilities, limitations, and fundamentals of these lesser energies better than any human being.
Controlling them through sheer will was no different than moving around their limbs, so, for a machine that tested one's Mana affinity, their presence was the same as the headmaster: unfathomable.
Sam was a little different in the sense that he didn't have the ability to manipulate Mana directly.
He had a good affinity with the Mana but having two creatures who were deemed unfit for this test, he wasn't allowed to give that test by the system itself.
For the ones observing them, the whole incident was more fascinating than Sam's inhuman physical potential.
"Don't be discouraged. We have a lot more things to do."
The two stat machines were not all there was to things.
In this testing area filled with all kinds of fun games, the party of three were divided into individual groups.
Sam went off to test a few new machines with Nyx, Art walked off to watch a few others, while Felix chose to look into the ones that she found interesting.
The goal was to explore as many of them as they could within the given time.
They had a few hours here and then they would be shifted to the next area, so the party did not miss this party.
Sam took on different new tests that measured his physical, mental, emotional, and subconscious state.
His party tried a stat measurement that found any hidden statistics that one had, revealing to the party how Sam obviously had the energy of the dragons.
In addition, it revealed how Nyx was a being of unusual powers: his absurd IQ, his troublesome personality, his ability to use several different energies that shouldn't be allowed to use together, as well as how he can harmonise all these factors.
He wasn't too strong when speaking purely in terms of simple numbers.
His physical powers were almost a joke, his magical powers were almost a miracle, while he himself was a mystery to the upgraded system.
"The system gave you a title: the White Equinox. That's one strange title for a being categorized as a (Class-1) Calamity."
Sam made fun of the little creature for having received system wide recognition.
It wasn't everyday that a new being was given a title by the system, especially one as unique as this one.
Also, the system had a special category for beings who it does not have the ability to assess to a satisfactory level: Calamities.
These beings, known as various names throughout the world, are cataclysmic entities that one cannot predict or control by normal means.
They are extraordinary. And there are few that the system puts into that category: especially at a level similar to their Nyx.
But things did not stop there.
"The Blue Starfire is recognized by the system as well, huh? You sure are pretty cool, Art."
Art was already categorised in the same Class-1 calamity as Nyx. And that was a few thousand years ago when she last came here.
Her data was stored in the system which it accessed when she showed her unique blue flames.
The way her flames exploded hinted at the unique reaction that occurred at an atomic level.
"Miii~."
Art was simply happy to find her master happy with the results.
These stats meant little to her.
She was simply enjoying what looked fun. And the precision destruction of targets needed in a (Mastery of skill) game was the most enjoyable to her.
The way her flames destroyed the smallest things with the most precision was something that made her more dangerous than a proficient assassin.
Once something was within the range of her flames, she had control over it.
Controlling this destruction zone as a near omnipotent being was an ability that countless beings would fear.
And this was a level of power that Sam can extract from her.
What she was truely capable of was not known even to this omniscient system.
"Nya…"
{ "Looks like I'll still have to work harder." }
Felix was not at the level where the system needed to give her a unique title or recognition.
But, while she was sad to not be on par with her teammates, she was happy with the tests that she was enjoying.
"Your domain is still not perfect but the way you can use your skills isn't something the system can contain in a simple test, Felix."
As a mystique alone, the stat tests that were present for her measured the range of her domain and how well it manifested in the real world.
Her ability to manipulate the reality within her domain or the castle that can contain any other Mystique's world was not something these stats can reflect.
She was strong. The system did not deny that much.
There was a live ranking that was being updated with each stat test they took in this place.
The more their abilities and skills were being tested, their ranking within the academy was increasing as well.
First it was points in tens and now, the tests that were still available to them after a lot of them were removed for being irrelevant to the goal of this testing, were giving points in hundreds or thousands.
They had already broken into the top thousand of the current academic rankings, making their positions more important than a normal scholar.
But after this point, the ranking points earned from the stat scores won't be enough.
"It's an achievement in itself that we maxed out the stat point scores."
There are many stat measurement tools in the second test area that one can use to measure the different aspects of their powers.
But, as one uses one of these tools, the one that has a stat kind adjutant to the previous one disappears.
Since the one testing right now were a total of four individual beings, the chances were high that the overall stat tools would disappear pretty soon.
The common ones that tested basic physical or magic stats would become less useful to them.
Most people who came here, unlike them, did everything for the highest possible points that they can have.
Much of the time it's like a gambling zone. You use the wrong kind of tools and the ones that may have given you a better bunch of points would vanish.
But the party this time wasn't here for something like that.
They came to have fun and break the rules. One understood how the stat connection worked while the other had made additions to an already broken system.
And since their goal for the second test was achieved at this point, Sam gathered his three companions.
"Great work, everyone."
He wasn't well when they arrived here. The impact of the first test remained with him.
But now that they were done with their second test, with a better understanding of where they stood at this point, the party of four were ready to move forward.
"From here on out it's my test once again."
The second test might have allowed a group effort, but the last stage is all about individual understanding of their own particular subject.
"Chirp."
"Mii!"
"Meow-"
"It's nothing dangerous. We and the system will only have a chat."
The last test was neither about proving why he was right to be in the academy nor about where he stood.
It was about determining his position within the academy, why he should be given the chance to be in a position higher than what he would be designated, and why becoming a Professor once again would still be possible.
"I'll be fine, so shall we go ahead?" He smiles at his companions in a dependable manner.
At least, it was enough to pass off as something decent.
"Chirp."
"Meow."
"Mii!"
They had their concerns but, they trusted their master.
After all he put them through, they'd be pretty mad if he did something like that ever again.
