Chapter 2334: Chapter 138: From Now On, I Owe You
Momo lifted her gaze, meeting Ye Zhan’s warm and deep eyes, thinking this guy really is something.
She had just said that if he confessed boldly, she might help him.
He immediately asked her for help.
“I still owe you a favor, so after helping you with this, I won’t owe you anymore, right?”
A bright smile appeared on Momo’s face.
She was already beautiful, with captivating almond-shaped eyes, just like Mo Ziye, inheriting the best features of Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran.
That smile brightened up the entire living room a bit.
Ye Zhan nodded, “Of course, you’re doing me such a big favor. In the future, it will be me who owes you.”
“Alright then, I’ll be staying in the Imperial City for two more days and returning the day after tomorrow.”
“Two days are enough.”
After Ye Zhan finished speaking, he tilted his head slightly and asked her, “Can we leave now?”
“I’ll go upstairs for a moment, you wait for me in the car.”
After saying this, Momo jogged upstairs.
Ye Zhan watched her back for a few seconds, then turned and strode out of the living room.
——
Mo Ziye and Qin Qingqing came out of the room, coincidentally running into Momo who was coming out with a backpack.
“Sister Momo, are you going out?”
Qin Qingqing supported Mo Ziye, smilingly asked Momo.
“Yes, Sister Tongtong is already on her way to the airport, and I need to go to the TV station. Qingqing, I’ll leave Ziye in your care.”
“Let Yuanfei and Yuanshan take you to the TV station.”
Yuanfei and Yuanshan were Mo Ziye’s bodyguards, but he generally didn’t keep them by his side.
Most of the time he was on his own.
Especially in the past four years, Yuanfei and Yuanshan followed him less.
This time, after being attacked and injured, he finally summoned them from G City, like Qing Feng and Qing Yang, Yuanfei and Yuanshan were also brothers.
However, they didn’t come from a special forces background but an old and well-known martial arts family.
“Ye Zhan said he would take me.”
Momo swung the backpack onto her shoulder, saying cheerfully, “Let them stay here to protect you, after all, aren’t you planning to go back and take a look?”
“Ye Zhan, why is he so attentive to you?”
Mo Ziye squinted at Momo.
Knowing he misunderstood, Momo glared at him and laughed, “Don’t be so dirty-minded, he asked me for a favor, that’s why he’s taking me to the TV station.”
“How am I being dirty-minded?”
“No, Sister Momo misunderstood Brother Ziyi.”
Momo placed a hand on her forehead, “Qingqing, can you not always side with your Brother Ziyi, acting like he’s never wrong, and even if he’s wrong it’s the world’s fault.”
Qin Qingqing raised her eyebrows indifferently, “Brother Ziyi is indeed never wrong.”
“Then… forget it, I’ve had breakfast, don’t want to indulge in dog food here, I’m leaving now.”
She initially wanted to talk about four years ago, questioning if Ziye wasn’t wrong at all.
But recalling the misunderstanding between them four years ago, leading to their separation, wasn’t a pleasant memory.
She swallowed back her words.
Momo walked out of the living room, and from a distance, saw Ye Zhan’s car parked outside the villa gate.
He wasn’t waiting inside the car.
He stood in front of the vehicle, his tall figure leaning against the car, one hand in his pocket, eyes warmly watching in her direction.
The scattered sunlight fell onto his handsome face, adding a touch of warmth to this winter day.
As Momo approached, he gentlemanly opened the car door for her.
“Thank you.”
Momo smiled and expressed her gratitude, bending to get into the car.
“I just got word that there are a lot of reporters waiting for you at the TV station.”
Ye Zhan turned slightly, sharing this news with Momo, and instead of hastily fastening his seatbelt, he patiently watched her, awaiting her decision.
Momo was momentarily surprised but quickly understood.
Though Shi Zhen’s apology was just a small line in an inconspicuous spot,
many had heard it last night, and the situation probably spread unnoticed.
Without knowing, she had been pushed into the limelight.
Suddenly, she regretted agreeing to help Ye Zhan.
“Is it too late for me to change my mind now?”
Momo smiled awkwardly.
Ye Zhan shook his head.
“It’s too late.”
His gaze swept over her seatbelt, “If you don’t fasten it, I’ll have to help you.”
Momo glared at him.
Then lowered her head to fasten the seatbelt.
Though her head was down, her small lips were slightly pouted in displeasure.
Ye Zhan’s eyes flickered briefly, then he fastened his own seatbelt and drove away.
As he mentioned, before arriving at the TV station, they could see a crowd of reporters gathered at the entrance.
It’s unclear how they found out Momo would be there today, arriving early to block her.
“When they ask you anything later, you don’t need to say a word, I’ll handle it.”
“You won’t say anything reckless, right?”
Momo glanced at him and her gaze fell on his large hand gripping the steering wheel.
He was here to use her.
Honestly, without saying anything, those reporters would still craft rich imaginations and write novels.
This way, she’d become the enemy of many young ladies in the Imperial City.
Momo once again felt that she needed to stay clear of this man.
Otherwise, she’d end up getting beaten by those women who admired him.
“What are you thinking?” Ye Zhan quietly observed Momo’s rich facial expressions.
Even unspoken, he knew she was considering staying as far away from him as possible.
“Nothing.”
Momo composed her emotions, her voice soft.
——
At the airport.
Tang Jinchen insisted on accompanying Gu Zhitong to board her flight.
But after less than 20 minutes, he received a call from his father asking him to visit the Presidential Palace.
“Dad, are you at the Presidential Palace now?”
Tang Jinchen asked, surprised.
The voice on the other end, Tang Yang, said yes, mentioning something important that required his presence, and asked if he was with Ye Zhan.
“I’m not with Ah Zhan.”
Sensing Tang Yang’s serious tone, it seemed something had happened again.
Without extra inquiries over the phone, Tang Jinchen agreed to head over.
After hanging up, he told Gu Zhitong, “Tongtong, I have to go to the Presidential Palace, I can’t stay with you until you board. Send me a message once you’re onboard and another after you arrive in G City.”
“You should hurry; I’m not a child; I won’t get lost.”
“Give me your ID and password.”
Tang Jinchen’s gaze landed on her bag, as he reached for his phone.
“Why?”
“Tell me.”
His tone was domineering, his attitude firm.
Unable to refuse, Gu Zhitong reluctantly shared her ID and password.
Tang Jinchen noted them down, reiterated his previous instructions, then turned and swiftly exited the airport.
In the waiting area, Gu Zhitong frowned watching his departing figure; a message alert sounded, prompting her to take out her phone.
The message was from Tang Jinchen.
“Tongtong, this is my ID and password. Keep it, so you can monitor my movements remotely anytime.”
As she looked at his ID and password, Gu Zhitong felt a slight emotional stir.
