Chapter 1340: Chapter 1339: I Knew You Couldn’t Let Me Go
Maxwell Peary sighed, reached out to open the drawer, and took out a cigarette.
Looking at the cigarette, his mind was filled with the image of Nia Mitchell’s sweet, pink face.
Well, can’t smoke,
promised to have little buns.
So, he casually tossed the cigarette away.
"Anne Davidson, stop deceiving yourself, Oliver is not my child."
Maxwell Peary couldn’t help but want her to wake up a bit.
But unexpectedly, upon hearing this, Anne Davidson exploded like a madwoman.
"How can you say that? Oliver is your child. Look, he’s becoming more and more like you. When he grows up, he’ll be just as handsome and outstanding as you. You can’t abandon this child!"
Anne Davidson roared, almost in delirium.
If Oliver were abandoned by Maxwell Peary, then surely he wouldn’t want her either.
Thinking of this, Anne Davidson immediately softened her voice.
"Maxwell, can’t we give Oliver a home? Let’s go back to years ago, when we were carefree. I could stand by your side openly."
The whole world thought we were a couple, the whole world thought we would marry.
But it was Phoebe Harris who ruined our relationship back then.
However, it doesn’t matter, she can still stand in front of her now.
"Maxwell, I’m begging you not to be so cruel, okay?"
She pleaded in a low voice, like a child about to be exiled.
But Maxwell Peary knew that if he softened today, tomorrow Rabina Mitchell would be harassed again.
"Anne Davidson, pack your things and go back to Provence. If you want to leave Oliver behind, then leave him behind."
Anne Davidson froze at these words.
"You... only want the child, not the child’s mother?"
Tears fell as she stood on the big street, utterly helpless.
"You’re overthinking. I won’t take this child either. I’ll send him to an orphanage."
Upon hearing this, Anne Davidson’s voice began to tremble.
"Maxwell Peary, father and son are truly alike. Your choice is surprisingly similar to Samuel Peary’s. Do you think just because you spent a few years in an orphanage, Oliver should also suffer in an orphanage?"
Anne Davidson roared, strongly opposing Maxwell Peary’s decision.
"Then take him away with you. Go back to Provence together."
"You’re too cruel."
Anne Davidson slowly squatted down, her vision went dark, and she fell to the ground.
Passersby seeing this scene instantly froze and rushed forward.
"Miss, Miss, are you alright?"
Hearing the commotion over there, Maxwell Peary paused.
"Anne Davidson? Anne Davidson, talk to me. What trick are you trying to pull now!"
A bystander saw the phone still on call, immediately picked it up.
"Hello, who are you to this Miss? She fainted on the street."
......
An hour later—
Maxwell Peary appeared at Capital Town’s First People’s Hospital, paid the medical expenses, and went to the ward.
The doctor was advising Anne Davidson to take care of her emotions and rest. Turning around, he saw Maxwell Peary walk in.
"Young Master Peary."
The doctor immediately greeted him.
When Anne Davidson saw Maxwell Peary, her eyes instantly lit up with joy.
"I knew you wouldn’t ignore me, I knew you cared about me."
She said, trying to get out of bed, but the quick-witted doctor stopped her promptly.
