"Now start with one finger."

I did, slowly stroking myself.

"Don’t stroke. Penetrate."

I tensed, a bit scared because I hadn’t actually done that before. I mean, I’ve gotten off with friction, but certainly not—!

"Penetrate. Don’t make me repeat myself."

That authoritative tone of his broke barriers in my mind, and before I knew it, I buried my finger into my pussy and my waist buckled.

Whoa!

My phone almost fell out of my grip.

"Your moans are like music. I wonder how you’re gonna sing for me when it’s my fingers up your pussy."

"M-Maybe you won’t find out."

He chuckled, and I came right there, shocked at the tension that had gripped me unexpectedly.

"Brat."

Oh God. I think I’m—!

"Another finger."

"I-I can’t."

"Another. Finger."

I did... moaning as I sank my head deeper into the pillow, my chin tilting upward.

Oh my god. W-Why does it feel so good?

"I wish I could hear the sound your wet pussy’s making."

"Oh, Zade." My hips rose, and I was so close again.

"Stop."

I did, and I was shocked that was all it took, like a switch that flipped off.

A low laugh vibrated through the speakers.

"T-That’s not funny! You didn’t let me finish!"

"That honor is mine, kitten."

I swallowed a lump down my throat, my mind already conjuring naughty images.

"Now... how about that dinner, pretty kitten?"

I opened my mouth.

"Ana?"

I heard the door.

"Bye!" I quickly ended the call, sat up, and placed a pillow over my thigh just as the door opened.

Damn... I didn’t even think to lock the door! Well, it’s not like I knew that phone call was gonna do a 180, did I?

"Hey..." Annabeth said, coming in with a smile on her lips.

I didn’t reply as I grabbed my diary and placed it on my nightstand.

"Are you still mad at me?"

"Can we, um, not do this right now? I’m busy."

"You don’t look busy."

The moment she sat down on the bed and gave me that soft expression, I knew there was no avoiding this. I’ve been avoiding her ever since our birthday.

"We need to talk."

"Do we?" I countered. "Cause you have said plenty. And you were right, you know."

She opened her mouth, but I didn’t let her speak.

"Maybe my crush for Jacob was just a silly one. Nothing deep. Meaningless. Funny thing was it took you to say it to my face to accept that."

As well as the burning image of two of them fucking in my head.

Annabeth reached for my hand, but I pulled it away. Then she moved closer and took both my hands in hers.

"Ana, please look at me."

I didn’t want to.

"Don’t let Jacob come between us, anything but that. Please?"

I sighed, closing my eyes briefly before I darted them to her.

She offered me a smile. "I haven’t seen much of you lately. You’ve been otherwise occupied; you left on our birthday. Where did you go? And the nights after that?"

"Somewhere I knew I wouldn’t feel suffocated."

"Is that how you feel right now? I’m really, really sorry, Ana, and for what it’s worth, I um, ended it with Jacob. I told you already it was a mistake and nothing like that and—"

"Jacob has feelings for you..." I said, and the tightness in my chest I had expected when I said those words never came. "I’ve been trying so hard to deny it, but not anymore."

She narrowed her eyes. "Where’s this coming from? It’s almost as if you have given up and—"

"Is it wrong if I do? You can’t expect me to keep pining over him after I found you two...!"

She nodded, and even though I didn’t finish, it was for the right reasons because I do not want to think back to that day. But it’s kinda hard not to when it happens on our birthday.

"I just want you to know that it doesn’t matter if Jacob has feelings for me. What we shared was just short-term, just to settle desires and all that. You understand, right?"

"Believe me, I want to..." I admitted. "But I can’t. You went behind my back, Annabeth. It’s hard to forgive something like that, especially when you know I haven’t come to terms with my feelings."

"I-I know..." she mumbled, regretful.

As much as I was annoyed, I couldn’t help but think she was right. Jacob shouldn’t come between us, not like this.

"For what it’s worth, I don’t have feelings for Jacob. Maybe what I felt for him was just kindness, or perhaps I mistook the way he treated me for something more."

"I’m sorry."

"Will you stop apologizing?"

"Not until you forgive me." She pouted, and I rolled my eyes.

She quickly pulled me in a hug, holding me tightly so I wouldn’t have the chance to push away.

"I can’t stand you being mad at me, Ana. You know we only have each other, right? It has always been you and me, and nothing will ever change that. I can’t take back what I did, and I let my desires get between us."

I don’t blame you, Annabeth. I blame the universe. The universe always worked in your favor. My crush wanted you and not me. Father loves you more than me, and half my friends only wanna be my friends because of you.

"So um there’s something I can’t wait to share with you!" She pulled away, smiling as though we were already on good terms.

Were we? I don’t even have the answer to that question.

"Father has been so busy, so I thought, why don’t I get a head start?"

I blinked, puzzled. "Head start for what?"

A knock on the door distracted us.

"Young miss, there’s a package for you."

"A-A package?" I asked.

Annabeth and I shared a look.

"I’m not expecting a package," she said.

"Come in."

The door opened, and the maid walked in carrying a basket adorned with blue ribbons. Inside were two ragdoll kittens.
