Chapter 162: Chapter 116: "Willing to Take the Bait" Written in Wild Grass

"Is this your handwriting?"

Qin Shoucheng stared at the character "Min" on the table for a long while. Then, his deep gaze landed on Zeng Anmin’s face.

"Right here! It’s right here, Mr. Qin!" Liu Xian held up the character "An" in his hand, an urgent expression plastered across his face. He strained to point at the character he was holding, trying to draw Qin Shoucheng’s attention as he announced loudly, "Just now, Quan Fu copied your calligraphy and successfully entered the Dao of Calligraphy!"

At his words, all the surrounding students nodded in deep agreement.

"That’s right, Mr. Qin. We all saw it with our own eyes. Zeng Liangjiang entered the Dao right after copying your calligraphy."

"Especially after Zeng Liangjiang finished writing, it was exactly like it had been carved from the very same mold as yours!"

The surrounding students began to chatter endlessly.

However, Qin Shoucheng wasn’t distracted by any of their voices. His aged yet remarkably clear eyes remained fixed on Zeng Anmin. He was quietly waiting for an answer.

"It is my writing," Zeng Anmin hesitated for a moment before nodding. Physically speaking, he was indeed the one who had written this "Min" character.

PHEW.

Receiving Zeng Anmin’s confirmation, Qin Shoucheng took a deep breath. His gaze landed squarely on the character "Min" that had been sketched out in Wild Grass.

At this point, the surrounding students also began to sense that something was off. Everyone’s eyes fell upon that "Min" character, which looked like unreadable scribbles.

Liu Xian naturally noticed this as well. When he saw the incredibly messy "Min" character, his expression stiffened for a second. Then, he quickly put on a fawning smile, looking at Mr. Qin as he said, "Please don’t be angry, Mr. Qin. Perhaps after Quan Fu copied your regular script and grasped its true intent, his Vast Righteous Qi was insufficient. Because of that, he couldn’t control his strength properly, which caused the second character to come out a bit messy..."

After speaking, he hurriedly shot Zeng Anmin a pointed look.

He thought, "Buddy, please just play along with what I’m saying!"

Zeng Anmin, however, acted as if he hadn’t seen the hint at all, staring straight at Qin Shoucheng. Similarly, Qin Shoucheng seemed deaf to Liu Xian’s words, staring deeply at the "Min" character written in Wild Grass on the table.

The hall instantly descended into an eerie silence.

After a long while, Qin Shoucheng snapped his head up and looked toward Zeng Anmin, his voice carrying a grave, raspy tone.

"This character remains sharp and unbridled, elegant and free.

"You did not enter the Dao by copying my regular script. Instead, you entered the Dao by creating an entirely new calligraphy style!"

His voice wasn’t loud, but it was filled with absolute certainty.

Qin Shoucheng himself had entered the Dao by creating his own calligraphy style. Naturally, he had an incredibly keen sense for the art of writing. Although the "Min" character on Zeng Anmin’s table looked like a chaotic scribble at first glance, Qin Shoucheng’s years of experience allowed him to be instantly captivated by the wild, flying strokes hidden within the font.

Even though this new style Zeng Anmin had written was not yet mature, and was perhaps even a bit unrefined... that absolutely would not stop him from developing this new calligraphy style into a Great Dao over time!

"Zeng Anmin, what is this style called?" Qin Shoucheng’s voice was not just raspy; it now carried a hint of a tremble. He looked earnestly at Zeng Anmin.

His words rang loudly in everyone’s ears. Like thousands of arrows, they pierced straight into the hearts of everyone present.

Upon hearing this, everyone’s hearts clenched. It was as if they had just heard some absurd joke. But seeing the solemn expression on Qin Shoucheng’s face, they all froze in place.

SWISH!

Everyone turned their gaze to the extremely messy "Min" character. It was as if the character on that ordinary piece of rice paper possessed some incredible, magical power!

GULP.

Liu Xian’s Adam’s apple bobbed. The begonia on his head tumbled to the ground, but he remained completely oblivious to it. His reasonably handsome face was locked in a dead stare at the "Min" character on Zeng Anmin’s desk.

"Cursive, or you could call it Wild Grass." An odd look appeared on Zeng Anmin’s face. Only he knew the truth. He really had entered the Dao through Qin Shoucheng’s calligraphy style. But now, it seemed like the man had misunderstood, assuming he had entered the Dao by inventing "cursive" just as Qin Shoucheng had invented his own style?

Zeng Anmin glanced down at the scribbled "Min" character on the table. He swore to himself that he was simply curious and wanted to test whether he had forgotten the Wild Grass he learned in his past life. So, on a whim, he had casually written this single character...

But as he looked up and swept his gaze across the room, he realized everyone was staring fixedly at the cursive "Min" character on his desk.

He thought, "Great. Did I just accidentally show off again?"

"Wild Grass..." Hearing Zeng Anmin’s words, Qin Shoucheng muttered to himself. "Wild Grass."

He repeated the two words over and over again. After a long while, he looked deeply at Zeng Anmin and asked, "Could you use this style to write another line of text?"

Of course he could write it. Zeng Anmin nodded, not refusing the request. "I can, but what should I write?"

As if struck by an idea, Qin Shoucheng slowly stroked his beard and said, "The thing I excel at most in my life is fishing. How about writing a line based on my fishing?"

COUGH, COUGH!

Qin Wanyue suddenly coughed twice. An odd expression seemed to cross her incredibly beautiful face, and she turned her head away.

Zeng Anmin didn’t notice Qin Wanyue’s expression. He was just thinking.

He thought, "Fishing? Is there anything more famous than those four words?"

Not wasting any time, Zeng Anmin directly picked up his brush, dipped it in ink, and began to write with a flourish.
