Chapter 2055: Chapter 1616: Abandon, Form, Come Over
The density of information in the Divine Light was too great, so aside from Kelanis reporting the mission’s failure, the entire void echoed with Lania’s roars and curses.
Mei Lania couldn’t translate it all, so she had to pick some important parts to translate. The matter had already been characterized by Lania as an ’Exotic Ghost breaking the trap,’ so the next step was to ask what to do.
Kelanis said: "Since the Exotic Ghost has broken the trap, we might as well use it to blow up the Ghost Guide. Anyway, without the Guide, the Exotic Ghost wouldn’t appear here."
"Good idea, but why didn’t you do this earlier?" Lania rebuked.
Kelanis explained: "The Ghost Guide doesn’t enter the God Star, so it can’t trigger the prohibition. We need to change the passive-triggered prohibition to be actively induced, but the prohibition of the Sixth Divine Star is beyond our control. Targeting the Ghost Guide would require a completely controllable God Star."
It felt like several consciousnesses intersected briefly in the void, and finally, Kelanis said: "The Sixth Divine Star is voluntarily giving up its form. I don’t know who else would be willing, and even if there are willing ones, ordinary God Stars might not be powerful enough. A trap works only the first time; once experienced, it will be guarded against."
The reason the Sixth Divine Star was turned into a trap was because its form was large enough. Ordinary God Stars do not qualify to become traps. In other words, to set a trap again, we need to find one of similar mass to the Sixth Divine Star, which is challenging.
The Sixth Divine Star started to wither, and combined with the opportunity to enter the Land of the Infinity, it willingly abandoned its form. Even so, it left an Imprint inside instead of generously handing it over to others, showing how difficult it is to make others give up their forms entirely.
"Can’t you convince him? Tell him about the harm Ghost Reflectors do to the Branch, encouraging them to give up their forms enthusiastically for the cause blah blah blah..."
Mei Lania was interrupted by Negris at this point: "Are these their words, or are you embellishing in your translation? I don’t believe their conversation was this bureaucratic."
Melania quickly said: "I translated it, and their words mean just that. I only did some artistic enhancement."
"Oh, alright, continue. You’ve been mingling on our side for a long time and haven’t learned much else but have picked up the bureaucratic tone," Negris joked.
"It’s all thanks to adults’ teaching, it’s all adults’ teaching," Mei Lania said casually, almost infuriating Negris.
Everyone was translating each other’s conversation, but it seemed like the Ghost Guide wasn’t listening. After observing for a while, it drifted along the edge of the void to another place, causing Ange’s connection with Lania and others’ light changes to become intermittent, missing some content from time to time.
"What’s it trying to do? Why not wait and act after listening? In this cloud of matter, slicing back and forth, can’t hear anything." Negris said.
Ursman pondered and said: "Could it be that it doesn’t understand?"
Negris and Anthony looked at each other, and Anthony said: "That’s reasonable; we have Mei Lania translating, and adults capturing all light changes. It might not be able to translate the information within Divine Light, and even if it understands a bit, it may not receive all light changes."
This is like how humans and instruments capture light. Ordinary people look up to starlight in the void, twinkling, composing a song: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
But when using Xisluo’s stargazing instruments, one could carve out a consciousness through the flickering of starlight.
So the Ghost Guide may not necessarily understand the contents of the Divine Light.
"Then what does it want to do?" Negris saw the Ghost Guide circling behind one of the Rock Shell Divine Stars.
Here, "behind" refers to the projection of the Rock Shell Divine Star under Lania’s Divine Light. Lania’s size was so immense that under its radiance, akin to a shadowless lamp, the small Rock Shell Divine Star cast only a tiny shadow, and the Ghost Guide circled to this shadow point.
"Looks like it’s trying to use the shadow to avoid Lania’s Divine Light and get closer to them, but..." Anthony said up to this point and suddenly stopped without continuing.
"But what? Why are you leaving us hanging at this moment?" Negris asked in confusion, wondering why the Death God’s Staff would leave things halfway, as leaving someone in suspense is not a good habit.
Anthony shrugged and said: "I’m not trying to leave you in suspense, but I’m not certain either. If such an obvious flaw, Lania and these God Stars wouldn’t know? If a flaw is particularly obvious, it might not be a flaw but a trap.
Speaking of which, Anthony added: "It’s just a guess since Lania and these God Stars don’t usually behave very smartly; maybe they genuinely didn’t notice this flaw."
Anthony was accurate; it was indeed a trap. When the Ghost Guide reached this shadow, before even emerging from the matter cloud, a terrifying thought locked onto it, and at the same time, a voice echoed in the void: "I’ve found you."
Lania’s "see" wasn’t just a simple sight. These God Stars had exceptionally powerful Star Souls, with thoughts immensely strong. When Gemez Fortress projected over, even before revealing itself, Ange pitched the Monarch away and fled, not daring to contact the other’s consciousness.
And now, Lania, a Branch Lord with a mass thirty thousand times larger than the Little Fireman, its Star Soul was overwhelmingly powerful, and Ghost Reflector was no match. Once locked in close quarters, it swiftly plunged into darkness.
The space around it was tightly sealed by a robust consciousness, and the Ghost Guide couldn’t even extend its thoughts—Consciousness Cage.
It’s over... a tinge of despair flashed in the Ghost Guide’s heart. Could Lania build a Consciousness Cage with thought? Just how strong was its consciousness?
If it was trapped in a Consciousness Cage and couldn’t extend its thoughts, it couldn’t even call for help, and the Ghost Tourers couldn’t perceive its situation, having no way to save it, which meant it was doomed.
Just when despair set in, a ’light’ shone in. Light was a descriptor because its current consciousness couldn’t sense anything, surrounded by darkness, with the only connectable thing seeming like a ’light.’
It didn’t know what this was, but the Ghost Guide clung to it like grabbing the last straw.
A voice came through: "Abandon, form, come."
A thrill shook the Ghost Guide’s spirit. It recognized this wave; it belonged to the Traveler, and Lord Traveler was saving it.
Without hesitation, the Ghost Guide abandoned its form, its consciousness sliding along that ’light.’
