Four Split Personalities

Chapter 2808 - 1330: Turned into Light

At this point, if Motan still doesn’t realize something is wrong, then it can only be purely for dramatic effect.

Right after Foster Ward blurted out ’Senior Lian,’ those persistent questions that had kept Motan puzzled all along were suddenly answered—

Why was Foster, who wasn’t particularly known for commanding skills, so strong, even pushing Motan to the brink several times in the recent match.

Why did he seem distinctly normal as an elite male, yet inexplicably came off as somewhat ’effeminate’ after the match, even instinctively making several creepy moves.

Why did Motan feel that this guy had ulterior motives?

Why could he fall while walking on a flat surface?

Why did he sit in a duck position after getting up?

Why didn’t he even know about Clown Brand?

All this pointed to an answer that sounded absurd but wasn’t so outlandish upon reflection—

"You’re not Foster Ward."

Realizing that he might have made a huge mistake, Motan’s face was extremely grim as he locked eyes with the tall man on the ground, who had already ’lost his composure’: "Who exactly are you?!"

Clearly, as the owner of the extraordinary disguise tool [Hundred Forms], Motan almost deduced at this moment that the man in front of him was not the real Foster, but someone else pretending to be him by some means.

Someone with ulterior motives, who can trip on flat ground, sit like a duck... and doesn’t know about the existence of [Clown Brand], nor knows that Foster is Red Heart K’s ’someone else.’

Things were getting serious!

Even though Motan appeared unmoved on the surface, the realization that he seemed to have caused a big mess had left him completely flustered inside.

Initially, ’Foster Ward,’ who was just planning to casually chat with his ’prince’ to reward himself for his efforts and comfort himself after that suffocating defeat, with no intention of exposing his identity, was also thrown into chaos. This ’Foster Ward’ was actually a girl named Theresa Tarosa.

Motan, most concerned with and worried about the [Clown Brand], was completely forgotten by the maiden. At this moment, she was fully immersed in the regret of having her identity exposed.

[So stupid! So stupid!]

[Clearly, Senior Foster and Senior Lian took such good care of me and did so much for me!]

[Clearly, it could have ended smoothly like this, exchanging places with the seniors without anyone knowing!]

[Clearly knowing my current state is not good, and fearing I might fail to play the role of Senior Foster, making it easy to get caught!]

[Teresa is a fool! A super fool fool fool!]

The maiden kneeled on the ground, lamenting herself in her heart, while her eyes gradually reddened amidst countless grievances.

Then...

"Boo! Boo... boo boo boo wah ah ah ah!"

Yes, she cried just like that, as if to vent all her guilt towards her senior, unease towards Motan, and frustration over losing the match, she started bawling without warning, while sobbing and mumbling: "I’m sorry... boo boo, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!"

Logically, if this tearful appearance were performed by the real Theresa, it would certainly evoke immense sympathy. But the problem now was that the person sobbing uncontrollably was Foster Ward.

That was a bit hard to accept...

At least Motan couldn’t accept it, he truly couldn’t accept it, to be honest, witnessing this scene almost made him want to cry too.

Perhaps in some BL-themed works, this kind of scenario might appear beautiful and intense, but in reality... well, even in The Realm of Innocence which feels identical to reality, especially for a normal-minded and healthy adult like Motan, the lethality was overwhelming.

Nonetheless, given the gravity of the matter, despite an inner voice persistently advising him to flee quickly, Motan ultimately chose to grit his teeth and pull Foster up, attempting to put on a ’kind’ expression, while awkwardly comforting him with bulging veins and dark lines on his forehead: "Hey, um... could we not cry for a moment? We can talk it out peacefully..."

Then, a miraculous thing happened!

Even though Motan’s previous words were rather insincere, almost dismissive, even bordering resistance, the ’Foster’ in front of him really did stop crying immediately, shakily stood up a couple of times (the first time he fell again), nodded while sniffling, and meekly uttered an ’Mm.’

Perhaps due to the sheer beauty of the scene, Motan almost suffered such severe physiological discomfort that the system nearly kicked him offline. But he eventually steadied his mindset, his face ashen as he patted ’Foster’ on the shoulder, speaking in an almost pleading tone: "Young lady... let’s discuss, could we... um, I mean if you have a way, could you talk to me using your original appearance?"

"Mm..."

Theresa sniffled and then took out a small bottle filled with transparent liquid from her pocket. Perhaps because the cap was a bit tight, she struggled for a while and still couldn’t open it, finally casting a pitiful glance towards Motan.

"Got it, got it."

Though not in a strength-focused profession, Motan’s physical fitness was ultimately better than Theresa’s. He casually helped her open the cap of the neutralizer bottle.
