"So?"

Motan whistled and asked, "Do you think we can gain any benefits from this?"

"Impossible."

Foster answered resolutely, without a moment’s hesitation, "As it stands, the Clown Brand is just too weak. We don’t even have the qualifications to sit at the table. Being able to avoid harm and benefit from opportunities is the limit for us at this stage."

Motan didn’t show any sign of disappointment. Instead, he nodded with satisfaction, "That’s very well said. Let’s do as you suggested. After all, we’re just a common public welfare organization, it’s enough that we can move forward with the tide of the times."

"A public welfare organization..."

Foster narrowed his red eyes slightly and murmured, "If we can indeed do some good for the world, that’d be nothing but gratifying."

Motan laughed, revealing a very sinister smile, "The innocence in your bones is something I very much admire too, Mr. Red Heart K."

"You’re too kind."

Foster, unperturbed, ignored Motan’s mockery, then glanced at the star map-like wall clock, "Lian and I should get ready to go, that person is waiting for you in box number seven of the café across the street."

Motan’s smile grew deeper, his eyes shining brightly as if illuminated, "Good... very good... this is exactly why I came over to you today."

"You’d better remember the matter we asked you about in our previous communication."

Lian intervened in the conversation, looking quite worried.

"Of course, I remember. Even if your woman’s intuition is irrelevant, I still have to consider Foster’s feelings."

Motan tossed the remark over his shoulder without looking back, gently rubbing his chin, "However, although I’ll do my best to persuade as promised, in terms of success rate... both of you had better not have any expectations."

Lian didn’t mind Motan’s previous rude comment, only said anxiously, "But she shouldn’t..."

"She shouldn’t have her life dictated by anyone, my dear Lady Red Queen."

Motan calmly interrupted Lian, with a playful smile, "In this regard, you’re not even as good as your father, with whom you don’t get along well. As far as I know, your talent as an Assassin is almost perfect, if not unrivaled, certainly a rare prodigy in a century. Moreover, you are the heiress of the Death Angel, and yet, under such circumstances... your family, elders, and seniors still let you spend six whole years in Academy City, at Dan Slave Military Academy, without binding you to train as an heir. This is true care."

"..."

Lian instinctively opened her mouth but couldn’t utter a word.

"The highest realm of being kind to someone is allowing them to do what they want while silently protecting them in the process, rather than arbitrarily keeping them away from dangers you perceive, just because you think they’re cold and you desperately add clothes for them. Of course, this requires certain capital and varies from person to person."

Motan glanced at Lian and said in an exceptionally calm tone, "But considering that we are currently companions with the same stance, I’ll still do my best to persuade that person. Even if it fails, I’ll try to turn it into a way that you both can relatively accept. Is that alright?"

"No objections."

Foster nodded before Lian could answer, then said somewhat helplessly, "Then let’s leave the conversation here for today, we..."

"Wait a moment."

Motan suddenly interrupted Foster, with a rather serious expression and said, "There’s one more thing I need to discuss with you."

Foster was slightly taken aback, but soon composed himself, nodding, "Go ahead."

"Good, since you agreed so readily, I won’t beat around the bush."

Motan grinned, staring into Foster’s eyes, "As far as I know... never mind, everyone knows that you, Foster Ward, are the most comprehensive and perfect leader to ever control the Law Enforcement Force. And my commission is... not hard, but not too simple either, it’s just that..."

...

Twenty-five minutes later

Game Time AM11:58

Central District of Academy City, Snow-Clear Café, Box Number Seven

Theresa Tarosa sat restlessly in the corner, anxiously stirring the cup of coffee that had long gone cold, feeling incredibly flustered.

But even in her frantic state, Theresa did not regret her decision, nor did she have the slightest impulse to run away.

Just last night, she had found Foster and Lian individually, inquired about Clown Brand, and since Theresa had already grasped some intelligence, they didn’t hide much from her. They mentioned that there indeed existed a Clown Brand public welfare organization, and by coincidence, they both became members.

Realizing she wasn’t suited to be a good girl after the battle with Motan, Theresa decided, after contemplating the dissatisfaction of staying at the academy, taking over as dean, getting married, and having children, that she wanted Foster and Lian to introduce her to join Clown Brand.

This frightened Foster and Lian...

They had tried to discourage Theresa from the idea, considering that Clown Brand was not a proper public welfare organization, and her pure nature clashed with it, presenting potential dangers.

However, the usually obedient girl was resolute, even more so than when she insisted on replacing Foster in competitions previously.

Out of options, Foster expressed his willingness to try, leaving a message for Motan via Spider, roughly conveying the matter to him.

Consequently, Motan, who hadn’t shown up since arriving at Academy City, unexpectedly appeared before Foster and Lian today, demonstrating high interest in Theresa Tarosa, the Witch of Danu, wanting to join Clown Brand.

As for Foster and Lian’s plea for him, as the leader, to gently dissuade Theresa from joining, he didn’t heed a word.

Dissuade? Gently dissuade?

What a joke!

A genius capable of putting immense pressure on Motan during military strategizing, almost forcing him to an impasse yet seemingly reserving strength, actively wanting to join. Why would he refuse!

Unfortunately, since Theresa had already made it clear she liked ’Black Vatican Priest,’ Motan, being ’Tan Mo’ now, lost any interest in romantically deceiving her, otherwise, he would have certainly tried that despicable trick.

...

Five minutes later

"Hey, beauty, are you alone?"

Motan casually sat opposite the young girl, startling her. Before she could speak, he politely leaned forward, smiling, "Hello, Lady Theresa, my name is Tan Mo, the creator of Clown Brand, nice to meet you."

Theresa shrank her shoulders, timidly nodding, "Um, hello, Mr. Tan Mo, nice to meet you. I’m Theresa Tarosa, a fourth-year student at Dan Slave Military Academy, a junior to Foster and Lian seniors, and my specialty is... military command... I’m quite good at it!"

To highlight her strengths to this down-to-earth ’leader’ immediately, the normally introverted and socially shy Witch gave it her all.

"Of course, I’m well aware of your commanding skills, Lady Theresa. In fact, I watched that brilliant rehearsal in the VIP section yesterday."

"You’re too kind..."

"So, you want to meet me, just to join Clown Brand?"

"Yes..."

"Alright, you may."

"But please reconsider o... huh?"
