Fox Has No Malicious Intent

Chapter 1254 - 1251: My Huhu, Let Me Feed It!

"Holy shit? How can a person be this hardcore, from People's Hero to Anti-bandit Hero, then from Pillar of the Nation all the way to Battle Hero, and then stacking merit on top of merit..."

Seeing the photo on Momo's phone, Ansheng's whole fox self was stunned, staring wide-eyed at Ye Jiaxin.

Ansheng hadn't really understood the meaning of those military plaques before, couldn't see what was special about them, but after seeing that Ah Qing's grandpa's house had two of them, he went and looked it up.

Plaques like this only get issued after some major campaign ends, or during huge disaster rescues, when someone racks up several first-class or special-class merits; only then do they qualify.

Getting one plaque to hang over your front door is no easier than charging in and out of a meat grinder battlefield seven times.

If Zhao Zilong was bravery incarnate, then anyone who walks out alive with a Pillar of the Nation plaque must have Zhao Zilong collector's editions hanging all over their body; if they were missing even one dragon's worth of power, they'd go limp on the spot at the sight of that kind of meat grinder battlefield.

But the Fatty Girl's elders, starting from the founding-era anti-bandit campaigns, literally didn't skip a single battle and pulled big merit every time.

"Fatty Girl's ancestral home is in Guilin....." Momo nudged the Little Fox and said, "They've been overflowing with martial virtue since ancient times."

"As long as we don't say anything too outrageous, the Security Bureau actually turns a blind eye to her exploring Spiritual Particles on her own."

From those plaques, it wasn't hard to see that Ye Jiaxin's elders were strictly following policy—whatever the state strongly called for, they went and did.

From war to business, generation after generation they kept bringing home national-level 'big red flowers' to hang on the wall.

"Badass!"

After thinking for a bit, Ansheng honestly couldn't come up with any other word, so he just gave Ye Jiaxin a thumbs-up.

"Actually.... it's not as exaggerated as it sounds. Our ancestors originally just thought the times were chaotic and wanted to run out of the hometown to avoid the war, but on the way they got grabbed as conscripts by the old society."

"Later the ancestor died in battle, and his son, eyes red, grabbed a kitchen knife and signed up for the army to get revenge."

"Once our ancestor set the example, the blood feud got too deep, and even farming couldn't be done in peace anymore, so the Ye Clan ended up having someone in every generation going off to fight the foreign devils."

Ye Jiaxin explained with a bit of embarrassment.

Momo had made it sound a bit too over the top; the reason their family racked up so much merit.

The real cause was that life sucked, everything felt wrong, nothing went smoothly, even looking at their own front door they felt the door frame was crooked, holding back a bellyful of fire.

Then they made enemies on the battlefield, and once they thought about how if the foreign devils didn't die their family lines wouldn't be safe, they just went all in.

"We still have a warning line written in our genealogy now: 'Don't fear being robbed, fear being remembered by the robber.'" Ye Jiaxin nodded with a face full of agreement.

"......"

Hearing this, Ansheng and Ah Qing both showed the same blank expression, looking at Ye Jiaxin speechlessly.

Xinxing Academy not accepting Ye Jiaxin, besides considering her weight.

Roughly... they also felt that randomly recruiting a berserker bloodline into campus might affect the school atmosphere.

Xinxing Academy's martial virtue was already overflowing; if they brought in another Blood River Faction ideological mentor.

The students might hold, but the principal definitely couldn't. The school rules clearly state: [Forbidden to persecute the principal or professors].

Ye Jiaxin's ideological resolve was so firm that you could already catch a glimpse of it from how she treated weight loss.

"So then, since there are no snitches in the room, let's talk about the Little Fox..."

Momo's eyes lit up, looking at the Little Fox and Ah Qing with a face full of anticipation.

"Mm..."

Ah Qing lowered her head to look at the Little Fox, giving her an inquiring look.

"Alright then! Since you're all expecting it, I won't be the buzzkill. Ah Qing, send the party invite."

Ansheng didn't move, just smiled and turned to glance at Ah Qing.

Seeing this, Ah Qing didn't refuse. She reached out and scratched around the Little Fox's crispy horn.

[Ah Qing has sent an access request to carefully check your information library.]

[Refusal command executed.....]

Seeing Ah Qing start casting, Momo and Ye Jiaxin stared unblinkingly at the Little Fox.

The Little Fox flicked her tail, laying it firmly over her waist and belly; her body slowly changed, her fox paws lengthening, and at her shoulders the bones shifted a bit, no longer limiting arm movement.

As her hip joints changed, Huhu's leg directly kicked up onto Momo's cheek.

"?"

Momo's expression turned odd as she watched the pads on the Little Fox's foot gradually lose their black color and turn into something close to pinkish flesh.

Although Master Fuli's height hadn't shot up, it was clear he'd already manifested a humanoid form.

His facial features also resembled a human's; only his snout and nose tip still carried fox traits.

"Holy..." Ye Jiaxin didn't say anything, but her eyes went wide in shock and a crude word slipped out.

"Something this cute and pink, why didn't you say so earlier!" Momo froze for a second, then grabbed Huhu's paw, face full of amazed yet weird expression, kneading the paw.

Seriously, no kidding, the Little Fox's transformation was absolutely a more-for-the-same-price experience.

"By the way, where are your abs?" After appreciating Huhu's leg, Momo looked at the Little Fox in confusion.

"I drink three cans of cola a day, where would abs come from." Ansheng shot Momo a sidelong look, lifted his leg, pushed her face away with it, and complained with a disgusted expression.

"In manga and anime, aren't Beastmen all showing up with two rows of abs the moment they appear?" Momo protested.

"Is the manga artist a Beastman? He's not, so how would he know whether Beastmen have abs." Ansheng said disdainfully:

"Haven't you seen tigers in the zoo? Look at their build—shrugged shoulders, jutting jaw, the whole thing looks like a huge chubby orange cat that's been wronged...."

"I already consider myself lucky; at least I'm still fox-shaped, not turned into just a curve."

"Damn... that actually makes so much sense." Momo sucked in a breath of cold air, face full of bafflement.

Even though she said that, Momo clearly still wasn't willing to give up. Her hand roamed all over Huhu's belly, as if searching for something.

"Pfft..."

Seeing Momo's unwilling look, still fumbling around like she was treasure hunting, Ah Qing couldn't help but laugh, and a sudden swell of pride rose in her heart.

My Huhu is all chubby, because I fed him myself!

"Sigh...."

Momo let out a helpless sigh, then moved the Little Fox from Ah Qing's arms into her own. Like playing a drum, both her hands patted Huhu's belly, trying to calm herself down.

She completely failed to notice that the Little Fox in her arms had his eyes rolling almost all the way to the ceiling.

"Since things have gone this far, we can only eat first. Once we're full, we'll think of a way to trick Huhu into getting a gym membership card."

"Exactly..."

Momo suddenly shifted the topic, turning to the side with a curious look at the Little Fox and asked:

"Got any good restaurant recommendations? We all came here on empty stomachs—like Qingao Island, Fox Immortal Palace and such..."

Even though Momo hadn't been to Xia Dong in a long time, Ah Qing had never stopped posting photos and doing text livestreams in the group.

Momo had been craving all that for ages; now that she'd come to Xia Dong with Fatty Girl to watch the Wandering God, she had to hit those famous spots and check them off the list.
