After Liang Xiaonuo left, the entire office went completely silent. Su Jiameng could only hear her own breathing and heartbeat. She twirled the pen in her hand somewhat boredly, watching it trace arcs and phantom lines in the air, her eyes growing dark.

The evening dusk had already fallen outside the window, and two "moons" quietly climbed up the sky, their cold light faint and chilling to the bone.

Although situated in two completely different planes, the same passionate military and young, vibrant lives made her find a long-lost sense of nostalgia and contemplation. However, they were ultimately different... Su Jiameng abruptly stopped the pen she was spinning, her expression indifferent.

It was at this moment that the familiar sound of the intelligent brain interrupted Su Jiameng’s train of thought. Upon connection, the familiar yet unfamiliar voice of Lu Anchen came from the other side, "The general intelligence has been collected, and we plan to withdraw in a couple of days. The information has been sent to your private email, remember to check it. But... Jiameng, how certain are you about this matter?"

This is a real-world war, and even from the perspective of those people in the Maxiwa Delta, there are a few traces of aggressive invasion. However, all Liang Xiaonuo and the others want is to complete the mission and return home. As for what may happen or whom they might meet or lose during the mission, these are uncontrollable variable factors, things they cannot freely control.

As long as there is war, death and victory or defeat are inevitable. Lu Anchen and the others are solitary and fearless, ready to face whatever comes their way. But the troops under Su Jiameng’s command are different. Life only comes once; this is not a game where you can save and restart. Thus, if this recovery fails, the casualties could be tremendous.

Su Jiameng, however, did not share Lu Anchen’s hesitations and concerns. Wanting to protect every warrior in the army during war is not called war, but playing house, isn’t it? Sacrifice is inevitable. What they can do is only to reduce the war’s depletion ratio to the lowest!

Feeling somewhat weary, Su Jiameng pinched the bridge of her nose and said with a trace of fatigue, "It’s hard to say in matters like these, but I can guarantee only victory, not defeat! As for what happens afterward, how many will be sacrificed, that’s beyond my prediction. I once pledged to Yu Feng that I would resolve the situation in the Maxiwa Delta within three years, and now a year has already passed...our time is running out..."

The other side of Lu Anchen fell silent; indeed... inadvertently, they’ve already been in this strange plane for so many years. If they don’t speed up, who knows how long they’ll remain in this unfamiliar place? When will they see their long-lost loved ones again?

"I will carefully review the intelligence you reported, and then make corresponding changes to the combat plan..." Su Jiameng said while pulling up the file marked top secret, beginning to read it closely, "Over this past year, it’s been hard on you and the others. Collecting so much in such a short time in a place like the Maxiwa Delta where chaos reigns is already remarkably impressive."

This time Lu Anchen spoke, with a hint of regret, "The pity is that the time was still too short. Had it been longer, perhaps it could have been done more acutely and accurately, and also improve the task’s completion rate..."

"You have done very well, far exceeding my initial expectations." Lu Anchen’s reports came in segments, contacting once every so often, which ensured Su Jiameng could make the correct judgments and adjustments based on the information.

Through so many contacts, only this time was the message particularly thorough, which shows that Lu Anchen also put a lot of effort into this.

The guys from the Maxiwa Delta are a bunch of desperadoes, suspicious, cruel, and ruthless, with no sense of legal respect or awe, doing things solely based on mood and benefit. It’s imaginable how much effort and exertion Lu Anchen put in to collect this information in such a disorderly place; words cannot describe it!

This task was not only extremely challenging but also posed a high risk to life. If, during the mission, his identity were exposed, even if he didn’t die, his fate wouldn’t be much better than death. Su Jiameng herself had been an undercover agent, naturally knowing the kind of situation someone with such an identity would face once caught! Lu Anchen survived for a year unscathed, thanks to a combination of skill and luck!
