From Broken Family to Life Winner: A Reborn Mother's Journey
Chapter 660 - 658: Only Crazier
’Mrs. Tang’s mind was racing with schemes, and she was quite pleased with her plan.’
’No matter what, Tang Yuanxiao was getting old. He had to marry soon, have children, and carry on the family line. She couldn’t let the Old Tang Family’s line die out.’
’She had to hold on until the Tang Family had an heir, no matter what. Otherwise, she would never be able to rest in peace.’
’When they had no money, Mrs. Tang could only dream about it, but now that they had money, things were different. They could find any good girl they wanted. Worst case, they could just buy one.’
’She’d buy a fertile-looking young virgin, have her pop out two kids in three years, and then she could die in peace.’
’She’d be picky when buying one. Someone around twenty, the perfect age for childbearing. Pretty and smart, so the babies would turn out well. Definitely not someone like that Lin Huanzhu.’
’Not only was she old, but she was so mannish. An unmarriageable she-devil like that was absolutely out of the question!’
What Mrs. Tang found even more unacceptable than Lin Huanzhu was that Su Li—the woman the Tang Family had cast aside—was now thriving and so successful.
Those words Tang Yuanxiao had spoken to her before kept popping into her head lately, completely unbidden.
"You’ll see just how amazing Su Li is."
Every time she saw Su Li on TV, that sentence would surface against her will.
And every time it did, Mrs. Tang would be overwhelmed with frustration. Only by finding a daughter-in-law better than Su Li could she ever hold her head high again!
As Mrs. Tang thought this, her eyes glowed with a feverish light, a deep resentment simmering beneath the surface.
Of course she was filled with hate.
Mrs. Tang hated everyone who had delayed Tang Yuanxiao, everyone who had delayed the continuation of the Tang family bloodline.
’That bitch Cui Yun... If she weren’t already dead and buried, I’d dig her up and flog her corpse. If it weren’t for her, I never would’ve been fooled by that little bastard, wasting so many years doting on him.’
’A little bastard is a little bastard, an ungrateful wretch you can’t tame. The moment he found out he wasn’t their real blood, he stopped coming around.’
Any shred of affection Mrs. Tang once had for Little Tang Mo from raising him had been completely wiped out over the years by his "ungrateful, unfilial" actions.
Now, whenever she thought of Tang Mo, Mrs. Tang would grit her teeth in hatred, a hatred as intense as the one she felt for Su Li.
Mrs. Tang gnashed her teeth. Seeing that Su Li was silent, she sneered and curled her lip.
"Still clinging to your money and your car at a time like this? You should be wondering if you’ll even live long enough to use them."
She scoffed, "Don’t tell me you’re planning to leave all this stuff to that little bastard after you die?"
Mrs. Tang burst out laughing. "Su Li, you’re the most pathetic, most foolish woman I’ve ever met. That little bastard has nothing to do with you, yet you treat him so well. It’s... It’s utterly idiotic."
When Su Li heard Mrs. Tang mention Tang Mo, the mocking sneer on her lips vanished instantly, replaced by sheer ice.
"Little bastard? An animal like you has the nerve to call someone a little bastard?"
Su Li didn’t remain silent this time. She retorted coldly, "Let me tell you something. Even if I starve or freeze to death in here, even if I give everything I own to a total stranger, I would never let an animal like you touch a single thing."
"Ten thousand yuan? The car? I’d sooner burn the money and smash the car than give them to an animal like you!"
Mrs. Tang hadn’t expected such a strong reaction from Su Li, or for her words to be so cutting. Her chest heaved violently with rage.
"You... Su Li, you bitch! Who are you calling an animal!"
"I’m calling you an animal, because that’s what you are!" Su Li shot back without hesitation, cutting her off.
"Listen to me, Tang Guihua! Anyone in the world can say Little Mo’s name, but you have no right. An animal like you isn’t worthy of even mentioning him!"
’An animal like her has the gall to mention Little Mo!’
"I’m telling you, even if I die here today, everything I own will be left to Little Mo. You won’t get a single cent!"
Mrs. Tang’s face turned purple with fury. She clutched her chest, nearly fainting, but after a couple of deep breaths, she managed to pull through.
"You call me an animal? You’re the animal! Let me tell you, not only will I talk about that little bastard, I’ll curse him to die! I’ll curse him to be torn to pieces!"
"That ungrateful wretch! You think he’ll actually get anything just because you leave it to him? Just you wait. After you’re dead, I’ll go find him and strangle him to death!"
Su Li cut her off sharply, "In your dreams! You think you’re a match for Little Mo? Don’t even think about it. Do you think he’s still that same skinny little kid from back then?"
"The way you are now? Forget one of you. Even a hundred or a thousand of you would only end up being torn to pieces by him!"
"Tang Guihua, I’m warning you, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll let me out of here right now. Otherwise, you’ll be in for a world of hurt. Not only will you die, but Tang Yuanxiao won’t live to see another day either!"
Listening to Su Li’s vicious voice and threats, Mrs. Tang tried to interrupt several times but couldn’t get a word in. Finally, she let out a shriek to cut her off.
"Pah! Who do you think you’re scaring? In your position, who do you think you’re scaring? It’s come to this, and you’re still talking tough instead of begging for mercy on your knees. As for that little bastard, pah! I’ve always been the one who could crush him. What is he even worth!"
"Our Tang Family will only grow more and more prosperous! Tangyuan is about to become a battalion commander! Who can kill a battalion commander? Pah! You should take a good look at what you’re worth."
Mrs. Tang spat and cursed.
Su Li also sneered and spat, "You’re the one who doesn’t know her own worth. Don’t you know who I’m marrying?"
"He used to be your son’s commanding officer. Your son could work his whole life and never reach the position he’s at now. So you tell me what he’s worth."
"We’re about to have our wedding. If you don’t let me go, he will come to save me, and he’ll trace it all back to you. When that happens... you’ll face the consequences!"
Su Li let out a cold laugh, her words spoken with resounding force.
Mrs. Tang’s heart skipped a beat, but the next second, she seemed to remember something and immediately became self-righteous again.
"Don’t try to scare me! I’m telling you, I won’t be so easily frightened by you anymore. Let you go? In your dreams!"
Mrs. Tang sneered. "Don’t try to scare me with that paramour of yours. No matter how powerful he is, is he going to kill me with his own hands? The most he can do is call the police."
"That whole police routine doesn’t scare me anymore. ’You committed a crime, the police will arrest you and put you in jail.’ Heh..."
Mrs. Tang sneered. "I’m not afraid. It’s not like I haven’t done something like this before. And I’m not afraid of going to jail, because I *won’t* go to jail!"
"So what if I get arrested and sentenced to prison? Even if I’m sentenced, I’ll just get medical parole again. I’ll end up in a sanatorium. What’s the difference between prison and that, really?"
The more Mrs. Tang spoke, the more self-righteous she became. Her eyes grew brighter with every word. She hadn’t thought it through before, but now that she was saying it out loud, she suddenly realized—’yes, that’s exactly how it is! What do I have to be afraid of!’
’From now on, I don’t have to be afraid of jail at all. I can do whatever I want!’
’If I’m not even afraid of jail, why would I be afraid of someone like Su Li?’
’Hahaha, if I feel like beating her, I’ll beat her. If I want to torture her, I’ll torture her however I please. I’m not afraid of her!’
Mrs. Tang’s face was flushed with excitement, and her breathing grew heavier.
