From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals
Chapter 811 - 811: Yun-Jin Names The Body Debt
Yun-Jin asked for the contact log.
The room treated the request like it had come from the wrong door. The drawer stayed closed. The blank refusal record kept its place on the side of the page, looking cleaner than it had any right to look.
Yun-Jin let the silence sit.
Ty trusted her more for that. She repeated herself only after the room had earned the insult.
Omina turned from the refusal record.
"Which contact log are you asking this room to open?"
Yun-Jin pointed to the Hamberton drawer.
"Family marked absent before removal. Show the contact effort."
The drawer clicked once.
Zunoder spoke before the file could answer.
"The record already says family was absent there."
"Absent is a location. I asked for effort."
JJ looked up from her marked wrist.
"I like her better every time the drawer dislikes her."
Yun-Jin ignored the praise. She kept her eyes on the drawer until the request opened. The page marked requester standing unclear.
Ty felt the line turn toward her and hated it at once.
Yun-Jin read the words without changing her face.
"Enter my standing before you use my distance."
Omina moved closer.
"Careful with what this costs you in review."
"I am being careful by making it count."
Zunoder folded his hands.
"Are you family to this body in review?"
The question came out mild. It still carried a blade.
Ty looked at Yun-Jin. Her gaze stayed on the drawer.
"No, and that answer belongs in the open."
The answer entered too quickly as non-family associate with limited weight.
Ty's hand moved. Yun-Jin stopped him with her voice before he could become useful to the wrong side.
"Do not make me into an argument you can rescue."
He went still when she finally looked at him, and the absence of softness helped more than comfort would have.
"I am asking as someone who watched absence get spent."
The route tried to classify that as emotional statement. Yun-Jin cut across the line before it thickened.
"Procedural statement. Absence cannot explain removal until contact attempt is shown."
Omina recorded the correction. JJ tapped her pencil against the ledger.
"Put her words in the main column before the drawer edits courage into mood."
The drawer hesitated before it printed the cost. A non-family request could open the contact log with reduced personal weight, while association lost family-priority standing in this review.
Ty turned toward Yun-Jin. She had already read it.
"I accept the reduced weight and the priority limit."
"Yun-Jin, that cost stays on your side."
"You lack enough legal family here to waste people standing near you."
The sentence landed in a place the old body's claim failed to reach. Zunoder saw it too.
"Near lacks family status, however useful it sounds."
"Near has more claim than a file cabinet."
JJ made a small sound.
"Keep her near the drawer until it learns manners."
The contact log opened as a pale sheet. The visible columns showed time, name, number, and result. Several blank spaces sat where the form wanted the reader to stop looking.
Yun-Jin reached toward the side of the sheet without touching it.
"Show the operator initials beside every deferral line."
The hidden column appeared only after she named it, carrying two slashes, one blurred set of letters, and too many blank boxes.
JJ leaned in.
"It hid the column with the human fingerprints."
Omina corrected the wording without taking the point away.
"It minimized the column with human handling attached."
"Same office sin wearing cleaner shoes again today."
Yun-Jin looked at the blurred initials.
"Someone was supposed to own each deferral entry."
Ty had seen her handle hospital forms before, back when paper had been an obstacle instead of a weapon. Yun-Jin always looked for the person a form tried to remove. A missing signature. A nurse's initial. A desk number written too small. She had once made a ward clerk reopen a discharge packet because the wheelchair return line had initials and the medication line had none. She did it the way other people checked locks, quiet and stubborn, because a locked door was still a door if someone had touched it.
The drawer tried to place everything under the authority code.
"Authority has no hand for holding phones itself."
Ty looked at her hand. Her fingers were steady, but the tendons stood tight under the skin. She had made herself smaller in the record to open this page, and now she was forcing the page to admit that people had done the shrinking.
Omina entered the result as contact deferral requiring handling staff. The line entered weak, but it entered.
Yun-Jin stepped closer, and Omina allowed it. The log filled in three entries. Family contact was deferred at 22:44, deferred again at 22:51, then deferred by authority code at 23:03.
The times sat close together. Nineteen minutes had been enough to turn an unmade call into a useful absence. Ty watched Yun-Jin read the spacing, not just the words, and understood why the page had disliked her request.
The drawer stopped there.
Yun-Jin waited until the file admitted there were no further entries. Nobody liked waiting with her.
Zunoder moved into the gap.
"The practical result remains that no family reached them."
"No family was called before absence became useful."
When he tried to fold the deferral back into overflow, she asked him to show necessity.
"The body was deceased before this route mattered."
"Dead people still leave families behind them somewhere."
The line was too plain for the room to dress up. Ty looked at the Hamberton label and thought of a body moved with no call made. If the name was real, someone had lost him twice. If the name was wrong, somebody had still used a wrong label to close a door.
The file tried to use even that, marking potential family harm as unconfirmed.
Yun-Jin nodded.
"Unconfirmed harm is fair. Deferred contact is confirmed here."
Omina recorded the result. Family absence weight reduced. Contact deferral confirmed.
The drawer pushed back that contact deferral left the old record in place.
"Nobody claimed the old record disappeared today either."
JJ looked at Omina.
"Can we record that as tone with procedural value?"
"Record the substance and spare me the invoice."
"That answer has no respect for art at all."
Zunoder turned toward Ty.
"This helps you less than you think. No family claimant appears. No refusal record appears. No one came for Hamberton."
No one came.
The sentence tried to settle under Ty's ribs. He had no ribs worth trusting, but it still found a place.
Yun-Jin left him to carry the sting. She looked at the contact log instead.
"No one was called for Hamberton before the absence counted."
The correction changed the floor under Zunoder's sentence. Family nonarrival lost family-refusal weight without a contact attempt.
Zunoder's jaw shifted once. Ty let himself take that as movement, not victory.
The contact log turned one more page. At the bottom was a stamped authority code, EA-0.
Heissman made a sound under his breath, and JJ turned on him.
"Use words before the drawer charges for silence."
Heissman swallowed.
"EA-0 is elevated authority above department ownership."
"We knew the code was sitting above people."
"Root authority is worse. It names the signer above departments."
Ty read the stamped box again. Erebos Alkandros could sit behind it without printing his name.
Yun-Jin stepped back from the drawer. Her cost line darkened. Association lost family-priority standing in this review.
The loss had a shape now. If a family name opened later, Yun-Jin would stand behind it instead of beside it. She had paid to prove the office had skipped a call that was never hers to receive.
Ty wanted to call it unfair, but the word felt too small for how precisely the room priced decency. Yun-Jin had not asked for ownership. She had asked for effort. The answer still took a future place away from her and called the trade clean.
Ty looked at her.
This time she looked back.
"The cost was worth the page it opened."
The drawer opened the next page. Family contact had been deferred by authority code.
The page gave no reason. That was the point. A sealed line could pretend absence was order.
Under it, the consent line stayed sealed.
