Chapter 458: Chapter 233: Hunting, Acquiring a Pet

’Abdullah? From the Middle Eastern royal family, huh... I never thought Su Chen’s circle of friends would get this wide.’

Xiao Chen watched Su Chen answer his phone, muttering to himself as he recalled the caller ID he had just seen.

Su Chen was all smiles as he held the phone. The moment the call connected, Abdullah’s eager voice came through.

"Mr. Su, are the photos you sent real?"

"Of course they are, my friend. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have thought to message you first thing, now would I?" Su Chen’s tone was steady and composed, with no hint of urgency.

After getting Su Chen’s confirmation, Abdullah’s breathing on the other end of the line grew noticeably heavier.

Without beating around the bush, Abdullah got straight to the point. "Mr. Su, I’m not sure where you are right now, but would it be convenient to meet? I just showed the photos you sent to my father. He loves them and hopes you’ll sell them to us, no matter what. We definitely won’t disappoint you when it comes to the price."

"Of course, my friend, no problem at all. It’s just... I’m currently in Siberia, in Bear Country. It might not be very convenient for you to come all the way here." Su Chen feigned a bit of reluctance, not wanting to appear too eager.

’This way, I can not only make money but maybe even gain the friendship of a Middle Eastern royal family!’

"Siberia? In Bear Country?" Abdullah, who was naturally aware of the situation there, muttered the words and then fell silent.

Su Chen listened intently. He could faintly hear what sounded like Abdullah discussing something with someone—presumably the father he had just mentioned.

Sure enough, a moment later, Abdullah’s voice was back. "Mr. Su, send me the detailed address. We’ll be in touch by phone!"

"Alright." Hearing this, a smile instantly bloomed on Su Chen’s face.

After they exchanged a few more pleasantries, Su Chen hung up, only to see Xiao Chen giving him a thumbs-up.

"You’re really something else. With just a few photos and a couple of sentences, you have a member of a royal family eagerly flying all the way to Siberia, and they’ll still feel like they owe you one." From Xiao Chen’s perspective, these Middle Eastern royals were the ultimate suckers—the kind who spend a ton of money and effort just to end up in someone’s debt.

Su Chen gave an innocent shrug. "You can’t blame me for that. They’re the ones who asked for it."

"Oh, you! A classic case of profiting and still playing innocent!" Anyone else would be bending over backward to please the Middle Eastern royals. After all, they were fabulously wealthy—get on their good side, and you’d never have to worry about money again, right?

"All kidding aside, how did you even meet a member of the Middle Eastern royal family?" Joking was one thing, but he had to satisfy his curiosity.

He didn’t recall Su Chen ever going to the Middle East, so how did he manage to connect with them? Judging by their conversation, they sounded much closer than casual acquaintances.

"You know that trip I took to the States? I met them by pure chance." Su Chen then gave a brief account of his trip, even explaining the dirty dealings between Morgan, a British Duke, and the Middle Eastern royal family.

Xiao Chen was secretly dumbfounded after hearing the story. He’d always heard that the tycoon families and top elites in the States lived wild lifestyles, but he never imagined they were *this* wild.

Orgies were one thing, but they were even recording them? One wrong move and you’d be handing them blackmail material on a silver platter. He was also inwardly relieved that Su Chen hadn’t fallen into the Morgan family’s trap. Otherwise... the consequences would have been unthinkable!

What Xiao Chen also found unbelievable was that the Duke and the royal family would tacitly condone such activities for the sake of their own interests. It was incredible to even think about.

It was a stark reminder that there are no permanent friends, only permanent interests. For the right price, they were even willing to sacrifice their own people.

"When you deal with people like that in the future, you can never be too careful. None of them are good people!" Xiao Chen added, feeling the need to warn him.

"Don’t worry, Brother Cheen," Su Chen replied with a smile, raising an eyebrow. "You know me better than that."

Xiao Chen nodded. He knew his warning was probably unnecessary; after all, Su Chen was far more cunning and sharp-witted than he could ever be.

As noon approached, the camp grew lively again. The group that had been left guarding the camp heard about the rewards for finding gold nuggets. So, after the shift change, they too grabbed their tools and headed for the river.

And they actually found one. It was only a single gold nugget, but it was massive—weighing at least twenty to thirty kilograms. Su Chen made a point of asking about it and learned that they hadn’t found it by searching in the original spot.

Instead, they had discovered it downstream from the camp, a few dozen meters past the canyon’s exit. They also found that the gold concentration in the riverbed itself was higher than in the sand on top, and the grains were larger.

However, Su Chen and the others didn’t think much of it. It was all the same river, after all; it was only natural for some spots to have more gold than others.

After a hearty and satisfying lunch, Su Chen suggested they go hunting that afternoon. After all, one of the main reasons both he and Xiao Chen had come here in the first place was for the chance to hunt all sorts of animals.

After a brief rest, Su Chen, Xiao Chen, Ivan, and Xuan Huang, along with a few patrol members, headed into the forest.
