Chapter 225: Chapter 10: This Is What You Call Skill, The Second Cover Paper (2)
Mo Ning’s revised wording read: "Research specialized, refined recipes suited to the War Rhinoceros’s palate and explore the correlation between new recipes and growth in Spiritual Power."
A single sentence elevated the proposal to another level entirely.
Did the academy truly care about the War Rhinoceros’s growth and development?
No. It was the Spiritual Power within the War Rhinoceros!
Now *that* was true skill.
Soon, the report was forwarded by the Witch Spirit to Rock the Tamer.
He could tell at a glance. ’This is definitely something that kid Mo Ning put Anya up to.’
’What kind of newcomer spends their first day in the Taming Center writing a report instead of familiarizing themselves with the environment and workflow?’
’Something like this has never happened before.’
’Especially those logically rigorous Divination Formulas. The vast majority of First Level Apprentices at the academy couldn’t write them, and he absolutely refused to believe Anya had that level of skill.’
Rock read the report carefully from start to finish and gave a slight nod. "This is very well written."
He had never really considered refining their feed. ’Who would have thought a War Rhinoceros would appreciate fine dining?’
He gazed at the line at the end of the application, "We humbly request comprehensive guidance from Mr. Rock," and his smile deepened. ’I really did find the right assistant.’
In the next room, Vincent was practically drooling with envy over the research project Mo Ning had whipped up, but he couldn’t get a taste.
All Rock had done was employ a little scheme, recruiting Mo Ning’s friend as his assistant, and he had gotten a decent research project from Mo Ning in return.
While it couldn’t compare to the physical therapy project, it still had research value. If they dug deeper, they might discover some unexpected surprises.
Rock thought to himself, ’If Anya can develop a refined recipe that increases the growth rate of the War Rhinoceros by five percent, even Lord Budi, the Chief Wizard, will take a second look.’
Rock picked up his Ink Tube Pen and wrote his evaluation in the Tamer’s comment section: "This research project possesses high feasibility and significant value."
Half an hour later, the project received official approval from the Chief Wizard.
It couldn’t be helped. The person who had written the application was, after all, an unknown assistant, so the approval process was naturally much slower.
If it had been Mo Ning, the process would have been several times faster.
When Anya received the notification on her Guiding Ring, she was once again in a daze.
To have successfully applied for the first research project of her life on her very first day at the Taming Center—it gave the Noble Lady a sense of unreality.
And the fact that the culinary skills she had spent months honing could actually earn Black Tower Points made her whisper in her heart, ’The amazing Mr. Mo Ning!’
Mo Ning casually asked, "How many Black Tower Points did the Taming Center grant for the research?"
Anya replied excitedly, "150 points!"
She felt that was a huge sum, considering all she had to do was cook for the War Rhinoceros and continuously test new recipes.
After all, even Sitt, who had been hailed as the strongest newcomer of his time, had only received an initial grant of 150 points from the academy.
Mo Ning, however, felt the amount was a little low. He figured that if he had applied himself, he could have gotten at least two hundred points, but he said nothing.
By now, the two War Rhinoceroses had already left the Taming Room to go frolic in the jungle, so there wasn’t much else to do for the time being.
Mo Ning instructed her, "You can start by reviewing the taming records from the past year," then picked up a book on Divination and immersed himself in his own world.
Anya stole a glance at Mo Ning’s focused profile, thinking that today had been a perfect day.
’Working with Mo Ning is absolutely wonderful!’

Assistants weren’t required to stay at the Taming Center all day; half a day’s work was sufficient.
As the end of their shift approached, the two War Rhinoceroses were called back by the ringing of a Summoning Bell.
Mo Ning suddenly offered Anya a small "perk." "Want to go for a ride on a War Rhinoceros?"
Anya froze for a moment. "Are we allowed to do that?"
When she read the Taming Guide, she remembered a line that was repeatedly emphasized: Never attempt to ride a War Rhinoceros.
This was because War Rhinoceroses were mischievous by nature and would likely take any opportunity to play tricks on their riders.
Mo Ning replied in a casual tone, "Of course. The Taming Center doesn’t forbid it. I’ve ridden them myself more than once."
The Noble Lady’s eyes instantly lit up. "Okay!"
Mo Ning brought two wooden saddles out from the tool shed, which he had designed in his spare time, and placed them on the backs of the War Rhinoceroses, who stood by obediently.
The two of them nimbly climbed up and guided the War Rhinoceroses in leisurely circles around the enclosure.
Just then, Second Level Apprentice Vincent suddenly burst into Taming Room No. 7 with a group of people.
This was the apprentice who had created a set of specialized bedding based on Mo Ning’s designs to correct War Rhinoceros Kent’s sleeping posture and resolve its neck muscle issues. He was now promoting this "advanced" experience to anyone who would listen.
The group was stunned by the sudden sight of a young man and woman taking a joyride on the backs of War Rhinoceroses.
Startled, Anya quickly jumped down from her saddle.
Mo Ning, however, remained perfectly composed. He dismounted at a leisurely pace and greeted him with a smile, "Mr. Vincent, good afternoon."
He then turned to the other apprentices, who all wore varying expressions, and greeted them politely. "Good afternoon, gentlemen."
He even remembered to pat the War Rhinoceros, instructing it softly, "Say hello to the gentlemen."
"AWOO—"
"AWOO—"
The two War Rhinoceroses cried out obediently.
Kent even gently nudged Mo Ning’s sleeve with its head, as if telling him to get back in the saddle.
It wasn’t that the big creature liked being ridden; this was simply an attempt to curry favor.
The few experienced Tamers in the group immediately noticed this small detail, and they stared, even more dumbfounded.
Many of them had been taming War Rhinoceroses for more than ten years and had never managed to achieve that level of closeness. And yet, a newcomer who had been at the Taming Center for only a month had already done it.
