Fuck!!!! I'm Having The Alpha Princess's Baby.
Chapter 471: Witches Get Burned
No matter how many times Jacqueline instructed the young Alpha, Diana Kings, to repeat those vows, nothing happened. Diana could not imprint on Kiara, and the Fire Demon inside her refused to come out.
It was supposed to work. Jacqueline had followed every step and instruction written in the grimoire, preparing everything carefully to ensure the ritual would succeed. She had enough magical energy to complete it, the runes had been carved into Kiara’s skin, and Diana had repeated the words exactly as instructed. So why wasn’t it working?
For months, Jacqueline had focused on one goal: finding a way to help the love of her life free her little sister from the demon living inside her. If she failed, Silviana would lose Kiara, the only little sister she had.
Jacqueline still remembered the day Silviana walked into her office, demanding the Grand-Kings file. That was the day they met, and from then on, things between them had moved so quickly that even Jacqueline could hardly believe she was falling for a woman who was already married and had a mate of her own.
Yet knowing that Silviana belonged to someone else had never been enough to stop her feelings.
Silviana had become her first love, and loving her in secret was something Jacqueline had been willing to do for the rest of her life. She had never expected anything in return, nor had she imagined that the woman who appeared so cold and unapproachable to everyone else would become someone she cared about so deeply.
Beneath Silviana’s cold personality, Jacqueline had seen a vulnerable woman who carried a loneliness she rarely allowed anyone to notice. Despite everything she had achieved in life, despite her position and the respect she commanded, there were moments when Silviana seemed like someone who had spent far too long dealing with her problems alone.
Jacqueline had fallen for that woman, and once she had made a promise to help her, she had no intention of breaking it.
She had promised Silviana that she would cast the evil Fire Demon out of Kiara’s body, allowing the young girl to live beyond the age of eighteen instead of losing her life to the council. That promise had become her mission, something she had spent months preparing for, and she was not going to abandon it simply because things had become difficult.
Even when Faye warned her, Jacqueline refused to listen. Kiara had also warned her, and even Silviana had tried to make her reconsider because Princess Kings was around, but Jacqueline remained determined to see the ritual through.
She had made a promise, and she intended to fulfil it.
Now, as she continued instructing Diana to repeat the words, Jacqueline drew more blood from the young Alpha, hoping that the additional offering would finally force the demon out of Kiara’s body.
Instead, the entire chapel burst into flames.
A powerful force exploded from the altar, sending both Diana and Jacqueline flying through the air. The sudden blast was so violent that neither of them had time to protect themselves before their bodies crashed onto the chapel floor.
Jacqueline landed hard, pain shooting through her body as she coughed and groaned. The heat had left her with a few burns, and for several seconds, she struggled to catch her breath. When she finally managed to lift her head, she saw Diana lying unconscious a short distance away.
"Diana..." she muttered weakly.
Ignoring the pain, Jacqueline pushed herself off the floor and tried to get back on her feet. Her eyes immediately searched the chapel for Silviana, desperate to make sure the woman she loved had not been seriously injured by the explosion.
She spotted her lying on the floor, farther away from the altar. Although Silviana appeared to be struggling to get up, she seemed to be alive and conscious.
Relief washed over Jacqueline, but it lasted only a moment.
Her gaze shifted towards Faye, and the sight before her made her blood run cold.
The Omega was no longer shackled to the chair. Somehow, she had broken free from the silver chains that had been burning her skin, and her glowing, moon-coloured eyes were fixed on Silviana, who was still struggling to rise from the floor.
"Silvia..." Jacqueline whispered, slowly straightening her back.
Around her, the chapel had become a complete mess. Some of the wooden pews had caught fire from the force of the explosion, while others lay broken across the floor. Smoke drifted through the air, mixing with the smell of burning wood and the strange, heavy scent of magic.
Then Jacqueline looked towards the altar.
A figure stood in the middle of the flames, its entire body glowing as though fire had become part of its very existence. The runes Jacqueline had carved into Kiara’s skin were supposed to prevent her body from turning into flames, keeping the demon contained while the ritual forced it out.
But they had failed. That was impossible.
How could the demon override a ritual she had spent months preparing? She had studied the grimoire, followed the instructions, and made every necessary preparation. The runes should have worked.
"No!" Jacqueline screamed when she saw Faye grab Silviana by the neck.
The Omega lifted the woman off the ground with frightening ease, her glowing eyes burning with a rage that made Jacqueline’s entire body tremble.
"I warned you, didn’t I?" Faye growled, tightening her grip around Silviana’s neck. "And now you’ve made this wolf pissed!"
Before Silviana could respond, Faye threw her aside as though she weighed nothing.
Silviana crashed into one of the wooden pews, breaking through it with a sickening impact. The sound echoed through the chapel, followed by a painful cough as blood spilled from her mouth.
"Faye, please stop! You’re hurting her!" Jacqueline begged, taking an unsteady step forward.
Faye turned her glowing eyes towards the doctor, her expression filled with contempt.
"Doctor, you should stay out of this if you don’t want to get hurt. Just keep your mouth shut and watch the show, or leave. I’m only pardoning you because you’re a victim of her ignorance."
Before Jacqueline could say another word, Faye turned back towards Silviana.
The Omega moved with such incredible speed that Jacqueline barely managed to follow her movements. Faye grabbed Silviana again, lifted her off the floor, and slammed her against another pew. The wooden structure cracked under the impact, and before Silviana could recover, Faye began punching her repeatedly.
Jacqueline could only watch as the woman she loved was beaten in front of her.
She could not simply stand there and allow it to continue. Neither could she abandon Silviana to save herself, even though every instinct was telling her to escape while she still had the chance.
She needed to do something. Anything that might save Silviana.
Jacqueline had the ability to teleport away from the chapel, and she could have used it to escape the moment the ritual went wrong. Instead, she remained where she was, watching Faye attack the woman she had promised to protect.
She knew she was taking a terrible risk, but she could not bring herself to leave.
Gathering what remained of her magical energy, Jacqueline raised her hands and focused her mind on everything scattered throughout the chapel.
One by one, the objects began to rise.
Broken pews lifted off the floor, followed by the wooden structures that remained intact. Pieces of furniture and other objects that could be moved through her magic floated into the air, filling the space around her as she concentrated on controlling them.
Her breathing grew heavier as she struggled to maintain her hold over everything. She could feel her magical energy fading rapidly, but she refused to stop.
Her eyes shifted towards Faye.
The Omega had finally paused her attack on Silviana, apparently noticing the wooden pews floating above the chapel floor. She slowly turned towards Jacqueline, her glowing eyes narrowing as she took in the sight.
"What are you doing, you bitch?" Faye shouted.
Jacqueline stood on unsteady feet, fighting against the exhaustion threatening to overwhelm her. She knew she was running out of magical energy, and she understood that attacking Faye might be the last mistake she ever made.
But if killing the Omega was the only way to save Silviana, then she was willing to do it.
The wooden pews began to change shape under her control. Their edges twisted and sharpened, the wood reshaping into long, pointed stakes capable of piercing flesh. One by one, the objects transformed into deadly spikes, their sharp tips aimed directly at Faye.
There were too many for the Omega to avoid them all.
At least, that was what Jacqueline believed.
She gathered the last of her magical energy, forcing herself to maintain control over the wooden stakes despite the weakness spreading through her body. Her hands trembled, and sweat trickled down her face as she prepared to launch the attack.
Then, with the final strength she had left, she sent the sharpened stakes flying towards Faye.
Jacqueline had been certain the Omega would not escape. Even if Faye was fast, there were too many wooden spikes coming at her from different directions. Surely, one of them would reach its target.
But she was wrong.
Before a single stake could reach Faye, every piece of wood caught fire at the same time. Flames swallowed the sharpened edges, consuming the wooden spikes so quickly that, within seconds, they crumbled into ashes that rained across the chapel floor.
Jacqueline’s eyes widened in disbelief.
"How is this...?" she muttered.
She had no idea what had just happened, and at that moment, she did not even want to find out. Her only concern was getting Silviana away from the chapel before Faye could hurt her any further.
Jacqueline immediately began preparing to teleport to Silviana’s location, intending to take the woman she loved and escape while there was still time.
It was something she should have thought of before attempting to kill Faye.
The first was that her magical energy was almost completely depleted, leaving her unable to teleport.
The second was the intimidating aura she suddenly felt behind her.
Before Jacqueline could even turn around, her entire body froze.
She could not move an inch. Her hands refused to respond, and her legs became completely motionless, as though an invisible force had taken control of every muscle in her body.
Fear crept through her as she tried desperately to understand what was happening.
What was standing behind her?
She could feel its presence, powerful and terrifying, yet she could not bring herself to look.
Then hand gently wrapped around her.
Hugging her from behind...
The touch was almost tender, so different from the suffocating aura surrounding her that Jacqueline might have mistaken it for a gesture of comfort if she had not been completely paralysed.
A voice spoke close to her ear.
"I hate werewitches. Always trying to kill my little sister..."
Jacqueline’s heart sank.
"You are a very, very bad witch, and bad witches get burned."
She could not move, could not fight back, and could not even turn her head to see the person holding her.
All she could do was stand there, trapped by a power she had no way of resisting, as the memories of her life flashed before her eyes.
The young doctor had wanted to save the woman she loved. She had wanted to keep her promise and give Kiara a chance to live beyond the age of eighteen.
But she had never imagined that her determination would lead her to this moment.
She did not even think that she was someone’s sister, or daughter.
Jacqueline Brown had not even been given the chance to say her final goodbye to the family waiting for her at home...
