Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Hunting

He then began cautiously sneaking toward Ansika Mechanical City.

Although it had just begun, Long Ming still planned to get as close to the extraction point as possible.

...

Ansika Mechanical City.

Just then, players from the Twilight Guild and the Dawn Guild were also emerging from their drop pods.

They didn’t continue the chaotic battle but instead quickly gathered at their designated assembly points.

Clock Tower Street.

Kaber, leading four subordinates, made an imposing descent from the sky.

BAM~

They landed steadily, kicking up a cloud of dust.

At that moment, guild players began to converge from all directions.

"Boss, it’ll take a little more time to gather everyone. We were a bit scattered on the drop."

A woman with short black hair and a heroic air about her, clad in pink Mechanical God armor, said to Kaber.

"It’s fine. A little delay won’t matter."

Kaber replied coldly to Hai Ying.

"Yes, sir!"

Hai Ying nodded.

...

Kalun Town, Northern Sector.

Atop a dilapidated metal skyscraper.

A man in a Gen 2 exoskeleton was using a special optical observation device to gaze at the street in the distance.

Soon, he spotted a dark red figure moving silently in his direction and shouted excitedly.

"Boss Fa Yue!"

"What is it?" 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

A burly man wearing a heavy black Gen 2 exoskeleton walked over.

"Spotted a fat lone fish, but this one might be hard to swallow. The guy’s skills and awareness are top-notch."

Magi said to Boss Fa Yue.

"Are you sure they’re not from the Twilight Guild or the Dawn Guild?"

"Don’t worry. Those two groups are mustering their forces right now. This guy’s moving in the wrong direction for that."

"Then what are we waiting for? Prepare to hunt!"

Fa Yue said with great confidence.

"OK!"

Magi and the others all replied in agreement.

...

Meanwhile, Long Ming was moving along a narrow street.

BANG BANG~

The sounds of gunfire and explosions echoed continuously in the distance.

Some of the lone players who had landed were already fighting.

Long Ming stayed as far away as possible. It wasn’t that he was afraid, of course, but he didn’t want to attract attention so soon.

Especially from those two big guilds.

Long Ming was hoping the two guilds would fight to the death, allowing him to profit from their conflict.

It would be a huge problem if they started to see him as a threat.

Just then, a red warning indicator suddenly popped up in Long Ming’s field of vision.

With incredibly fast reflexes, Long Ming dodged to the side.

A special sniper round zipped past him, striking a building behind him and instantly punching straight through it.

"Fuck, what kind of reaction speed is that?"

On the distant skyscraper, Magi cursed out loud.

His sure-fire, ultra-long-range snipe had actually been dodged.

Long Ming turned his head toward Magi’s position. The view in his eyes zoomed in, quickly locking onto Magi, who was prone on the rooftop.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he charged over at top speed.

Seeing Long Ming charge at him, Magi’s expression changed slightly as he reported to his comrades.

"Boss Fa Yue, I’ve been spotted! The target is moving toward me."

"Since you’re exposed, just keep sniping. Leave the rest to us. We’re closing in to surround him."

Fa Yue said to Magi.

"Understood!"

Magi immediately reloaded, trying to lock onto Long Ming.

But he found he had lost track of Long Ming, and his heart skipped a beat as he said.

"Captain, the target’s gone."

"How is that possible? Did he take cover? Look again, carefully!"

Fa Yue and the others asked, confused.

"Okay."

Magi suppressed his unease and carefully searched for any trace of Long Ming.

But no matter how much Magi searched, he couldn’t find any sign of Long Ming.

The flanking party, led by Fa Yue, was also searching everywhere for Long Ming.

They felt like they were seeing a ghost. In the blink of an eye, the guy had broken out of their encirclement.

"Dammit, where the hell is he hiding?"

Magi cursed in frustration.

"Are you looking for me?"

Just then, like a malevolent spirit, Long Ming appeared behind Magi and spoke in a hoarse voice.

Hearing the voice, the hairs on Magi’s neck stood on end. He decisively dropped his sniper rifle and reached for the blade at his waist.

But before he could even touch the blade...

"Argh!"

With a tortured scream, Magi’s neck was severed, and his head fell to the ground.

FZZT~

"Magi, what’s happening over there?"

A teammate’s shout echoed continuously from the helmet on Magi’s severed head.

Long Ming walked over, picked up Magi’s head, and said in his hoarse voice.

"He’s dead."

"Fuck! Don’t you dare run!"

Fa Yue retorted angrily.

Long Ming didn’t answer them, simply turning and leaving.

On the other side, Fa Yue led his three companions, rushing toward Magi’s hiding spot.

"Boss, did we just kick an iron plate?"

"What’s there to be afraid of? He’s just one guy, how strong can he be? As long as we don’t get separated, we’ll be fine."

Although Fa Yue said this, he felt extremely uneasy.

That guy had broken out of their encirclement so quickly and killed Magi with such ease. Something felt very wrong.

Just then, a dark red figure leaped down from a tall building, hurtling toward Fa Yue, who was in the lead.

Fa Yue reacted with extreme speed, leaping backward abruptly.

BAM!

Long Ming landed instantly, smashing a crater in the ground, and looked up at Fa Yue.

When Fa Yue saw Long Ming’s ferocious Red Ghost mask, his heart trembled.

Long Ming stomped on the ground and lunged at Fa Yue like a phantom, slashing down with his blade.

Fa Yue swung his giant blade in a horizontal sweep.

CRACK!

The two passed each other.

Fa Yue’s right arm was sliced clean off.

"Argh!"

He let out a pained cry.

At that moment, his companions all raised their guns and opened fire furiously on Long Ming.

PING PING~

The bullets struck the Red Demon mechanical armor and all fell away.

Long Ming ignored their attacks, turned, and cut off Fa Yue’s head with a single slash.

"Dammit, retreat!"

Fa Yue’s companions all turned and ran.

"Smart move. But it’s too late."

Long Ming gave chase at extreme speed.

Soon, he had cut down the remaining three.

Long Ming looked at the equipment and weapons they had dropped, silently gathering them and hiding them in a nearby building.

His backpack space was limited; he couldn’t carry it all.

...

Steam Plaza, West Ansika Mechanical City.

Ask stood in the center of the plaza, his face cold and stern.

Nearly a thousand subordinates were gathered around him, with more constantly arriving.

"Jia Ting, is everyone assembled?"

Ask asked his subordinate beside him in a cold voice.

At that moment, a man whose face was obscured by his V3 Mechanical God - Destroyer armor replied respectfully.

"My Lord, just about!"

Just then, the distant sky suddenly lit up.

Jia Ting immediately looked up.

He saw a supply drop pod falling from the sky.

Instantly, large numbers of lone players in the city started rushing toward the supply pod.

Jia Ting then spoke respectfully.

"Lord Ask, a supply drop has landed in the northwest sector."

"It’s irrelevant. Let the lone players fight for it. The fiercer they fight, the better. We’ll just clean them all up later."

Ask couldn’t care less about the supply drop.

Although supply drop pods could contain good items, the quality of the loot was also tied to the Civilization Level.
