Chapter 216: Infinite Concept
Chapter 216: Infinite Concept
By the same principle, Caelum was both a living being and death itself.
He had become the embodiment of every possible concept in existence.
The Caelum of the past had still been bound by the concepts of life and death.
From this moment onward, he had completely transcended both, becoming an indescribable supreme and mysterious existence.
Every possibility within a single universe had gathered within him.
Caelum immediately used his Transcendence to raise this overlapping state of countless possibilities without limit.
Naturally, he stepped beyond Earth’s universe and broke free from the restrictions of a single universe.
He extended this supreme conceptual state across infinite universes and rose above the Endless Sea of Universes.
Then he once again transcended the river of time and the source of the Dao.
"What an extraordinary sensation."
Caelum marveled at the feeling.
He called this Realm and state Infinite Concept Transcendence.
It was a state of supreme Transcendence built upon the overlap of countless concepts.
Its nature was profound beyond description.
The strength of this Realm could no longer be measured.
Caelum only knew that a single thought from his current self could crush the version of him who had possessed only supreme Transcendence.
In simple terms, he was powerful.
Invincible.
Both overwhelmingly powerful and utterly invincible.
The old Caelum could still barely be considered human.
At worst, he could at least be called a living being.
Now, he had completely departed from the category of life and become a collective embodiment of concepts.
He was no longer human in any sense.
After entering the Realm of Infinite Concept Transcendence, Caelum returned to Earth.
With a thought, he appeared inside a completely unfamiliar modern city.
He looked around.
"A game invasion phenomenon..."
The entire modern city had appeared as the result of a game world invading reality.
This time, there was no spatial passage.
The city had silently appeared on Earth.
The people inside had noticed nothing.
They continued their orderly lives as though this were an ordinary modern city.
The DMB reacted immediately.
Unfortunately, they were helpless.
They could not find any spatial passage at all.
Thankfully, the residents appeared to be ordinary people.
They showed no hostility toward the real world and made no attempt to invade it.
Otherwise, millions of people pouring into Earth at once would have been enough to make anyone’s scalp prickle.
A streak of light crossed the horizon.
Van of New Kirk was the first to arrive above the city.
Several other official S rank players soon followed.
This was another large scale invasion after the Divine Wasteland World incident.
The smaller events of the past could not compare.
Van only hoped this would not become another Divine Wasteland World.
"Any unusual developments?"
"None so far."
One S rank player looked deeply puzzled.
"It really does appear to be an ordinary city. How strange."
"We cannot lower our guard."
The Divine Wasteland World invasion had ultimately been resolved by Caelum.
The DMB had played only a limited role.
Had Caelum not intervened, Earth would already have been destroyed.
Ever since that incident, the DMB had been developing strategies for handling large scale game invasions.
Now those preparations finally had a use.
Outside the city, large numbers of elite DMB players stood ready for battle.
A trail of blazing energy crossed the sky.
Derek and Guy had only recently left the game, yet they had already been brought here to stabilize the situation.
After exchanging nods with the other S rank players, they descended into the city and began investigating.
They soon learned that the city was called Travira.
Just as it appeared, everyone within Travira was an ordinary person.
They possessed no magic and emitted no unusual energy.
The discovery left the DMB baffled.
Just as they began to believe this truly was an ordinary city, Van suddenly froze during his investigation.
A crimson mark had appeared on the back of his hand without warning.
At the same moment, alarms sounded.
The DMB detected an abnormal signal.
A monitoring officer’s expression changed.
"A powerful energy reaction has appeared three kilometers east of your current position. Its energy level is provisionally classified as S rank."
Van stared at the crimson mark on his hand.
A flood of information entered his mind.
A moment later, understanding dawned.
"I know what this is."
The instant the mark appeared, he understood everything.
Travira was not the only thing that had invaded reality.
A set of rules from another game world had arrived with it.
A phenomenon known as the Secret War.
The Secret War was an extraordinary arcane ritual created by a group of mystics worthy of being called great.
The ritual traveled with Travira from one world to another.
Whenever Travira entered a new world, the ritual randomly selected seven ordinary residents within the city and marked them.
These seven people were known as Masters.
Through an arcane summoning ritual, each Master would randomly summon a Servant from among countless worlds.
The Master and Servant would then form a contract and fight together.
Unlike the Masters, who were ordinary people, Servants generally possessed considerable combat strength.
During the summoning process, a Master could offer different sacrifices and recite specific invocations to influence the type of Servant summoned.
Under normal circumstances, Masters preferred Servants associated with myths or legends.
Most such Servants possessed tremendous power.
Whether Master or Servant, once someone agreed to join the Secret War, a mark would appear and the rules would become clear to them.
After the war began, each Master fought alongside a Servant.
The seven pairs would kill one another until only one remained.
The final surviving Master would gain dominion over the current world and become its new ruler.
The victorious Servant would return to their original world and receive a chance to alter their fate.
If the Servant had originally come from the current world, they would instead receive absolute dominion over a randomly selected world among countless others.
Because Earth served as the main battlefield of this Secret War, it possessed two Servant positions.
Van had been fortunate enough to claim the second.
He had answered the summons of a Master somewhere within Travira.
As for the first position, Caelum sat beside a river, enjoying the cool breeze.
A crimson mark revolved above his palm.
He found the Secret War rather entertaining.
So he had quietly intercepted one of the positions.
The extraordinary ritual behind the Secret War could reach into other worlds.
This was the first time Caelum had encountered a method of such an extraordinary scale.
Naturally, it caught his interest.
Fortunately, his Infinite Concept Transcendence stood above the rules of the Secret War.
So taking control of it was effortless.
