Game Like World: My EX Profession is Legion Summoner!
Chapter 41: The Second Legion
Thanks to the attributes he had gained from leveling up, Ethan had already reached 999 Spirit this early.
The Tear of Spirit now gave him one Spirit every twenty minutes instead of ten after he entered the Second Order.
He just had to wait for the next increase.
Most of the Shadow Wraiths had hidden in his shadow. They could still protect him if anyone attacked.
Ethan stayed where he was as the battle continued around him.
Several candidates began attacking him from a distance. Arrows, spells, and other projectiles flew toward Ethan, but the Shadow Wraiths hidden in his shadow intercepted them before they could reach him.
Soon, several minutes passed.
[Spirit: 1000]
Ethan smiled.
He finally had enough Spirit.
He activated Legion Formation.
[Legion Formation Activated.]
The formation beneath him lit up.
[Searching for a compatible legion...]
The light suddenly grew brighter.
[Compatible Legion Found.]
[Solar Elemental Legion]
[Recruitment available.]
Ethan accepted.
[Recruitment confirmed.]
[Summoning Solar Elemental Legion...]
The temperature around Ethan rose almost instantly.
A second source of heat was forming beneath him.
Cracks spread across the ground as golden light leaked through them. The cracks widened, and a burst of flames rose from the ground.
Fifty figures appeared within the flames.
They were tall and humanoid, but their bodies were made of dark, stone-like material. Orange-gold cracks spread across their bodies, glowing with intense heat, while flames burned from their heads.
Their eyes shone with golden-white light.
Ethan opened his status panel and went straight to his profession section.
The information about his new legion appeared before him.
[Legion Summoner (EX)]
[Second Legion: Solar Elemental Legion]
[Growth Path: None yet]
[Members: 50]
[Solar Body]
[The body is formed from solar energy and can withstand extreme heat. Solar Elementals are immune to fire and heat.]
[Legion Skills]
[Solar Ray]
[Condenses the energy within the Solar Elemental and releases it as a concentrated beam of solar energy.]
[Solar Dash]
[Converts the body into solar energy for a short period, greatly increasing movement speed.]
Ethan’s continued reading down the panel where he was one more entry.
[Divine Skill: Divine Flame]
[Mana Cost: 1,000]
[Description: Creates a divine flame that burns everything it touches. The flame cannot be extinguished by ordinary means and will continue burning until its target is destroyed or it is dismissed.]
Ethan paused when he saw the Mana Cost.
[Mana Cost: 1,000]
His mouth twitched.
A Divine Skill that cost 1,000 Mana to activate?
His Mana pool had only recently appeared after he reached Level 11, and it was still pitifully small.
He compared Divine Flame with Shadow Veil.
Shadow Veil, which he had received from the Shadow Wraith Legion, was also a Divine Skill, but it didn’t require any Mana.
As long as a Shadow Wraith remained hidden in a shadow, the skill remained active.
Divine Flame, on the other hand, required 1,000 Mana just to activate.
’Absurd.’
Ethan almost wanted to close the panel.
Then again, he understood the difference.
Shadow Veil was passive.
Divine Flame was active.
One simply remained active as long as its condition was met.
The other required Mana every time he wanted to use it.
’I’ll have to test it later.’
Ethan looked around the battlefield.
He had remained passive for long enough, and the attacks from the other candidates were becoming more frequent.
’Might as well see what the Solar Elementals can do.’
He spotted a candidate fighting another candidate some distance away.
Ethan gave a simple command.
’Solar Ray.’
One of the Solar Elementals raised its head.
Its golden-white eyes suddenly brightened.
A thin orange-gold line shot from its eyes.
The candidate noticed it at the last moment and quickly raised his weapon to block.
The beam struck the weapon.
The metal instantly turned red-hot and began to melt. The candidate staggered one step backward, staring at the weapon in disbelief.
Ethan watched the result.
’Not bad.’
The power was about what he expected from a Solar Elemental at this level.
He paused for a moment.
Then an idea came to him.
’What if all of them use it at once?’
Ethan gave the command.
’Solar Ray.’
All fifty Solar Elementals raised their heads.
Their golden-white eyes lit up at the same time.
Fifty thin orange-gold rays shot toward the same target.
The rays quickly merged into a single beam.
The candidate saw it coming and raised his weapon, but the beam smashed into it before he could properly defend himself.
His weapon shattered, but the beam didn’t stop. It tore straight through his chest and continued into the distance.
The candidate died instantly.
High above the battlefield, the number went down by one.
[73]
Ethan’s eyes lit up.
’That’s more like it.’
The huge beam of light had caught the attention of the candidates around the battlefield.
Several of them stopped fighting and turned toward the source of the beam.
"It’s that guy!"
"I thought he only had those shadow things."
"Where the hell did that new attack come from?"
"Damn it. With that kind of range, he’s just as dangerous as the Blind Gunslinger."
Ethan’s gaze moved across the battlefield.
He spotted several of the candidates who had attacked him while the Shadow Wraiths were restricted under the artificial sun.
His gaze stopped on them one after another.
The candidates who noticed his gaze immediately felt a chill run down their spines.
"Damn it."
"Does this guy really hold grudges?"
"He’s coming for us."
They immediately turned and ran.
But before they could get far, the fifty Solar Elementals raised their heads.
Their golden-white eyes lit up.
The orange-gold beam shot across the battlefield toward the fleeing candidates.
The furthest candidate was struck first.
The combined beam tore through him and killed him instantly.
Then, the beams continued across the battlefield.
One candidate after another was struck down as Ethan’s Solar Elementals fired at those who had attacked him.
The number above the battlefield continued to fall steadily.
Soon, the number above the battlefield stopped falling.
Ethan scanned the battlefield, but the remaining candidates were scattered across the area. Most of them were too far away for him to see clearly.
He decided to find someone worth fighting and started moving.
He had barely taken a few steps when a large figure walked into his path.
Heavy armor covered the man’s entire body, formed from layers of solid earth.
"Your little show is over."
