Chapter 47: A Battle Between Monsters

On the other side of the Thornheart Secret Realm, Ethan was fighting a Level 17 carnivorous plant.

The plant was huge. Dozens of thick stems attacked Ethan from all directions, while its roots kept breaking out of the ground.

"Solar Ray!"

The Solar Elementals fired their beams at the attacking stems.

It took at least two Solar Elementals working together to cut through a single stem.

Even then, more stems quickly grew back and attacked again.

Ethan moved to the side as another large root struck the ground.

The Solar Rays could cut through the roots and stems, but they couldn’t reach the main body of the plant.

As long as the main body remained untouched, the plant could keep growing new roots and stems.

"This thing just keeps regenerating."

Ethan looked at the huge plant.

"It really is troublesome."

Since that was the case, there was no reason to keep fighting it with only fifty Solar Elementals.

"In that case, I’ll just summon more."

Ethan activated his Legion Formation skill and a conplex formation appeared beneath his feet and quickly lit up with golden light.

The next moment, 450 more Solar Elementals appeared around him.

With the original fifty, Ethan now had a total of 500 Solar Elementals.

"Let’s see how long you can keep regenerating."

The battle continued.

The Solar Elementals began firing their Solar Rays at the plant’s stems.

Before this, the battle had been a stalemate. The Solar Elementals could cut through the stems, but the plant could quickly grow new ones.

Now, everything was different.

With 500 Solar Elementals attacking at the same time, the carnivorous plant couldn’t keep up.

More Solar Rays followed, cutting through the plant’s stems faster than they could regenerate.

The plant’s movements became slower as more and more of its stems were destroyed.

It could no longer attack Ethan effectively.

The battle became completely one-sided.

Ethan looked at the plant’s huge body.

Since it was a carnivorous plant, its main body had a large mouth surrounded by thick leaves lined with sharp teeth.

But beneath those leaves was the plant’s core.

A faint glow could be seen deep inside.

That was where the plant’s core was.

"Got you."

Ethan gave the order.

"All Solar Elementals. Combined Solar Ray."

The 500 Solar Elementals immediately gathered their power.

The orange-gold light around their bodies became brighter as all of their Solar Rays merged into a single beam.

The massive beam shot toward the plant’s main body and struck directly beneath its giant mouth.

Boom!

The beam passed straight through the plant’s body.

The thick outer layer, the flesh beneath it, and the core were all destroyed in an instant.

The Level 17 carnivorous plant fell to the ground, and all its stems stopped moving.

[You have killed a Level 17 Carnivorous Plant.]

[You have gained 1,700 EXP.]

[You have obtained: Vitality Vine ×5]

[You have obtained: Carnivorous Plant Teeth ×12]

The body of the carnivorous plant slowly disappeared.

A few moments later, five thick green vines and twelve sharp teeth appeared on the ground.

[Vitality Vine: A special vine containing a small amount of life energy. It is one of the main materials used to make health potions and pills.]

[Carnivorous Plant Teeth: Sharp and durable teeth that can be used as materials for weapons and other items.]

Ethan collected them and stored them in his inventory.

He looked deeper into the forest.

"I still haven’t found the Thornheart Flower."

The Secret Realm was large, and the flower could appear almost anywhere.

Ethan continued moving forward with the Solar Elementals following behind him.

The Solar Elementals dealt with anything that attacked them, while the Shadow Wraiths continued scouting the area.

As Ethan moved through the forest, he picked any herbs he came across. Some were useful, while others weren’t worth much to him, but he collected them anyway.

After walking for a while, one of the Shadow Wraiths suddenly noticed something.

Ethan focused on the Shadow Wraith’s vision.

Two powerful monsters were fighting.

A massive python circled a large plant monster, hissing loudly as it spat venom at it.

The plant monster moved its body to avoid the venom while several thick vines attacked the python. Sharp thorns shot from the vines, forcing the python to move away.

The python opened its mouth again and spat more venom.

This time, the plant monster barely avoided it.

The venom hit the ground and immediately began eating through the soil. Smoke rose from the spot as the grass around it turned black.

A few drops landed on a nearby plant.

The plant instantly withered, its leaves turning black before it collapsed.

Ethan observed the two monsters for a few seconds

"The Thorn Vine Monster and the Corrosive Python?"

"Why are these two fighting?"

Both monsters were Level 20.
